Bleed is pretty trash honestly. Surefoot was a massive nerf to dumdum in all its forms since you can medkit while sprinting away. Then if they have bloodless on top of that you have a gutted ammo type that practically doesn't do anything.

Yes and that's the problem. Poison is a terrible ammo type that actively makes you more likely to lose.
Dumdum is only beneficial if you're beating up people you'd probably already win against.
Fire is just for griefing and has little to no practical application.

It all arises because there are antidotes and traits that just delete these ammo types from the game effectively.
FMJ is oppressively strong because it barely has drawbacks and there are no traits that interact with it adversely.
That's my point. Loadout variety is in the gutter. You have almost no reason to ever run anything other than a long ammo primary of choice + auto4 secondary. And they did nothing to fix this in the update.

Go and put it in a pistol and look at what the stats do. Pistols suffer essentially zero penalty for loading FMJ.

The muzzle velocity hit is like 20m/s or something irrelevant.

I dunno, I just hate the 'traits to counter everything' balance philosophy. It makes it miserable trying to play any kind of off meta loadout in high MMR lobbies because practically everyone is on a level 50 hunter all the time, so none of the equipment functions.

FMJ more or less is a safe option with zero drawbacks on some pistols. Trueshot goes from 410 muzzle velocity to 405 with FMJ and more or less becomes a half price Uppercut

higher recoil on a single action pistol with 1.6 seconds cycle time? make it have 50 recoil and I still wouldn't care. And drop is already so ass on pistols that losing like 10 meters doesnt change much. At longer ranges you cannot effectively hit headshots with them anyways.

I never made the point that this stuff is unusable. I made the point that it's significantly weaker and that you are hurting your chances by using it.
It's a game with one hit kill headshots, anything can be used, but that doesn't mean it's as good.

There is just so much wasted potential. They could for example make it have faster cycle time and reload time at the cost of damage and muzzle velocity. To emphasize that it's more handy due to the short barrel. But no, we got a slightly cheaper mosin that is just worse in every aspect.
