you dont just GET a slower drop/climb bc you play more hours, you tend to have a slower climb/drop bc you tend to have more actual mmr AMOUNT, if that makes sense i hope i worded that right

this might not really helpful, but if you have long queues currently that's because around this time player numbers are really low. you could try switching region during those times for shorter queue times.
