Previous points made by users: invalidating hits are often caused by ping abusing, the core issue behind many of these things. Many people (somehow, in 2025) think ping abuse is just a myth. Lets debunk that. Hunt works client based. If you have high ping ("HP") and push around a corner, the enemy cant see you in his screen for the duration of your HP, giving the HP player an advantage of 100-200 ms (most normal scenario) to shoot. Hit registration is clientsided, and is highly correlated with how the server validates the winners. The HP player wins before the opponent even had time to react on their screens. On the other screen, as the HP player, you headshoted him as he crossed the corner on an instant. And sometimes, for him, it will look as if you killed him through the corner or a solid object, leading to false flags (cheating allegations, where they are just really ping abusing).

Other FPS simply state that packets from better pings came first, so he has the preference, and invalidate the shots from the worse ping player. As stated, Hunt does not do that (even the devs have told us that several times). Anyone that denies high ping advantage has simply no idea how client works on a technical level and calculates the scenarios. There is nothing to discuss since
a): ping abusing is considered by any serious game a form of exploiting (and thus, cheating: even more since the high ping player does this knowingly and on multiple ocassions, even on daily basis)
b): Crytek themselves have videos explaining how (for example trade windows) work. Server history gets re-written even if the winner of a gunfight is already selected, as stated above.

one of the arguments against ping restrictions (and when they tested this out a while back) was that their own region wasn't populated enough for matches. With crossplay the player pool size is larger overall, so it may help lower pop regions

So, you used to be able to use workshop mods in versus. Then Valve removed that feature cuz people were abusing it with "no trees" mods and what not.

if you enter the mods manually through in game folders, they show up in versus still. So now it's an "on your honor system" when playing versus. You can use any mods u want, just cosmetic only, which i use.

If you have mods that break hitboxes or change damage values......yea...people will notice instantly and you might get banned so that's a no no

At further ranges where you need to draw for longer ig, but at close range you only need to draw for a small fraction of a second and during that draw you can just jump and do an airshot. The movement difference really isn't that big

if you draw for only a bit you’re not one shotting

and despite the bleed that’s just not good enough

the movement difference is fairly significant to me it makes for worse peeks imo
