You are latching on to the one major advantage of a crossbow, we know it doesn't need to draw, but it's not really enough to justify the things it does worse

it used to be 800ms, now its 75ms.... before an update before 1896 if yo uevery wondered why someone could be on the ground and shoot you is because of the 8/10s of a second it takes for the game to register a kill

In my experience you can still have this kind of issue, where it should have been a trade your bullets just de-spawn and your shot gets cancellated

shotbolt can pen ya, not very well only wood and it wont kill teh guy unless the yare basically touching the wall, but pen is still there
the main draw of shotbolt is the infinite kill range
