i think the only reason to change them is to alleviate this specific scenario where it's something so specific that you get the feeling of "ugh id rather play literally anything else" and so boom you have that option, but it's a second specific weapon.

And then there's challenge that forces me to do it which is not comparable to the same reward I get for "use consumables 20 times" because it does itself by playing

quite frankly i think the 'use 20 consumables' is basically just 'play x matches', there's zero thought, and anyone who plays enough matches would likely finish it without even knowing what it is

youre being fooled by its looks, just because it looks like a badass harpoon that can fire frags and shit doesnt mean it is one

thats completely secondary to the fact that it shoots tiny balls at you and works exactly like a shotgun but with cracked melee

you can aim a lot worse and still kill at similar ranges

though ehhhh, its also really good for room clearing. frag fuses are bullshit, they might've removed frag arrows but its still on the bomb launcher and bomb lance

so bomb lance spam frags to open up space, now youre both in shotgun range except you have the bonus of a really really good melee and frag for free dmg around corners

assuming its a 1v1, thats a situation where they run like a bitch or die, no real counterplay, youll just hold angles with a shotgun and melee in case you miss while they slowly bleed to death

i really don't think that is the biggest thing they need to fix. But also doubt that is going to happen. they already changed things so adjacent spawns were less likely, but that only seems to be the case for mostly same-size teams

with a mix of team sizes / higher number of teams at least one fairly adjacent spawn seems to be more or less garaunteed

just gotta be paranoid from first clue, which is how it used to be back when teamfight spawns were more common anyway

one really nice thing they added is "instinct" and manual dark sight boost.

you are no longer forced to use dark sight boost seconds when you enter dark sight with a bounty token, and even if you don't use your dark sight boost, you will be notified if there are enemy hunters within 75m of you by an fiery-looking orange border around your screen [if you have a bounty token]. Dark sight boost is still further at 150m[iirc?], but you don't need to use it for every single clear anymore.

Just telling you cause I don't want you trying to use your dark sight boost by just going into darksight and wondering why you can't see anyone even though they are there.

A good player can tell you didn't actually open the door because they would have heard your footsteps leading up to and/or away from it

Opening everything up to make peeks or reduce cover is only useful in very specific scenarios, seeing as the other team can just close the door and it's not often people are holding directly through a door without being close enough to just walk over and close it

I will say, sometimes people get flagged for using certain non-cheat programs that can be used for cheating.
In general Crytek have a rule of thumb: "If you use any 3rd party software, EAC might flag it as cheating".
