What you need to remember is content creators are playing the game to get clicks and hence get paid. they are chopping and editing their footage so they only show the parts they win or the matches they stomp on. They probably lose as many matches as you win but you'd never see it because they obviously don't include their bad matches in their compilations. Only exception is psychoghost does occasionally do "highlights/lowlights" where you'll see he dies to stupid stuff as much as anyone else. It's a common problem across all games, if I'm honest.

As a person who plays most weapons I'm still not a fan of forcing people to play certain weapons to get challenges done

If I don't want to play Bornheim let me complete challenge with any other compact ammo pistol but give higher requirement lol

you can do a regular old bornheim as a sidearm, you can do a bornheim silencer as a sneaky little fucker, you can dual wield any of them for some spam, dual wield the bornheim extended for literal never ending close range dual wield spam, or the bornheim match for head clicking, and i haven't even mentioned the ammo types

Lance has even more variety, harpoon plays like a crossbow, steel ball plays like a shotgun, DB is your magic staff of fireball, waxed frag is your util spam around corners and such, you can use the melee, or you can ignore the melee. You can ditch the melee entirely and pitch the launcher instead. And ofc bolt thrower was just a huge buff to the lance

Even if you're forced to use one weapon, there are so many ways to accomplish it

And as I said, doing several games of bomb lance and ending frustrated for 750xp and 10bb isnt even a fair trade

While other challenges can be done by just playing

that's the point, it's still meant to be a challenge you are forced to engage with in some way, but it's also not hard shoehorning you into using one specific thing that you know you despise. or at least you get to pick the least annoying option, and there's some solace in that.

It seems like the randomness is part of the intent. if it were just '1000 mako dmg or 3000 long ammo damage' like nobody's challenged by that. during an event they last for the entire event, so it's just too wide a selection of the arsenal to actually make anyone care, methinks.

i guess the question is, what is the goal of the challenges? cause if they're too general, they might as well be 'play x amount of matches', and if they're TOO specific, it's annoying.
