they aren't niche counters. they are valid weapons. people just choose rifle or shotgun in the game and rarely play the niche cool things. frag arrow was one of the niche cool playstyles. don't care if "no skill", when you run out of ammo you're basically screwed for close range.

the frag arrows on the bow and arrow made scarce aren't explosive ammo, it's sharpnel. bulwark doesn't work against it, need to use bloodless.

concertina literally counters every weapon in the game in this way. this is like saying you counter it by just headshotting them before they can shoot. obviously. that's how the game works.

it's incredibly common. crytek doesn't want to alienate the sniper player base by nerfing the snipers, but they do all this song and dance to try and speed up the game in other ways.

to be fair "getting past" the anticheat does not mean the cheat is not being detected.

if all your cheat related checks pop up a convenient little "we have detected you being naugty" you make it trivial for cheat developers to do so

That's why they do ban waves, if they collect all the cheats detected within say 1 month, it makes it harder for the cheat devs to isolate what caused them to be detected, and how to fix it

but in general, cheats and malicious software are developed way faster and put more holes in any security measure, than any anti-cheat or anti-virus can cope with

and as a funny little observation related to that, the accuracy seems to gradually increase as the ADS animation nears completion, and this can be sped up by combining the ADS with a crouch, letting you fire a nearly-accurate shot really quickly from hipfire if you just aim and crouch just before firing

2: Homestead is using Romero stats and we can see it is the only shotgun that gives Flechette 1-tap options.

Being a 1-tapper AND a bleed option is good.
That said it does have much more power due to be double barrel, Romero won't have that luxery.

The immersive digestion system I suggested? Beans, sausage/jerky, corn(bread), and coffee being period appropriate food staples that all produce varyingly high amounts of gas/bloating/defecation, I actually think it would be a funny but also interesting(?) update. Maybe like a seasonal thing where some heals get replaced by healing food that also happens to give you gas or make you poop? You don't take the time to poop and you'll shit your pants and you'll have the sound of flies giving you away until you run through some deeper water or smth.

With the game's very nice sound system, I would be entertained to hear the occasional flatulence. Mid battle, both sides are having an awkwardly silent reloading moment when a clear crisp PTTBBTBTpprrrrtt rings out.

Tip for prestige, not specifically targetted at you, but if you have death cheat (and it's not bugged) just keep playing the hunter till you lose it because all hunter xp will go onto bloodline once a hunter is maxed out. Can make some big xp gains this way

right your hunter level maxes at 50 at which point you can either retire them (to get a jump in bloodline levels) or keep running them (which nets you more cash and experience if they survive because all experience goes to your bloodline rather than first to the hunter)

prestige resets your bloodline level to zero and you (depending on level) sometimes get a free cosmetic skin, or the option of slightly more cash or +10% bonus experience (the correct choice if you don't have the skin option)

also resets your cash and existing hunters (if you have any) disappear.

also any guns you have stocked up etc

wouldn't sweat it too much until you actually hit bloodline level 100

My #1 tip for new players is be careful how much sound you make. Hunt is very much so an audio-based game, gunshots can be heard across the map and everything else can be heard at rather long distances and used to pinpoint your location, health, weapons etc. That said, don't crouch walk everywhere. It makes you very slow so you'll be left in the dust in getting to the boss compound and you will be an easy target.

I recommend tackling the PVE side of the game with your quieter options, such as melees, most of the time, as it avoids revealing your position to other players and unnecessarily wasting ammo.

my #2 tip kind of goes hand in hand with the first, keep your ears open. audio can tell you a LOT even across the map. you will learn the sound cues as you get better.
