Ranger is a great option for new players since you can shoot a lot of bullets nad its quite forgiving with its fire rate
vetterli is a great all round weapon for learning a bolt actoin rifle and fun fact, its the fastest bolt actoin in the game with the trait "Iron Eye"
Crossbow and bow are "harder" for new players since you dont have a crazy high rof, but they one tap at pretty good ranges but now you have to deal with trajectory and a super slow bolt/arrow

its very hard to fight, you can stop them from shooting back with first shot, then close gap into a one tap at romero ranges. and the reload is pretty chill

it feels closer to an alternative to the drilling. if you run slugs on it, its a 40m two tap to upper chest but still functions as a shotgun. main difference is the much better reload

for compound fights, theyre very interchangable

only problem is that it doesnt compete against drilling hatchet which has a 3rd melee option on top of being only two slot
