Aside from the legendary weapons they're associated with that are listed in the compendium, Harold Black once used a Berthier Marksman, The Phantom used a Vandal 73C, and Sofia and Lulu used Scottfields with Dumdum ammo. There might be other examples hidden in the Book of Weapons stories, as they often tried to involve the weapons in each story.

Is there an explanation as to why the Hunt areas all seem to be relatively isolated locations?
With the exception of Mammons Gulch, which seems to have a small city just beyond its northern boundary, all of the hunt locations seem like they're pretty isolated.

Is there a lore reason for this? or is it just that more open areas work better for a game like Hunt?

As soon as I first saw that small city north of gulch, i've always kinda yearned for a new hunt map set in a more developed area, but I don't know if something in the lore would preclude that possibility.

there'll be a better answer for this from people who look into lore more but I recall places like desalle being decently populated and lively

for gameplay I think it's moreso just they've evolved since the old 3 maps. There was a big gap between them and mammons so it naturally makes sense for it to be fuller. Devs just got better

the border on the old maps were big lakes or wilderness which honestly in small us areas is still pretty common.

Like on the first initial day, we get like one page of maybe like idk 5 things, and then each week is totally unknown to the Gen pub, with each weekly BP posted, we get some juicy lore, and then the final week is like the big confrontation of who or whatever, like we could have Lynch going up against the Empress for example, and the last week focuses properly on that whereas the rest of the weeks have been about strategy and set up, last week is like a no-holds, no punches pulled, winner take all between the two, so it’s less of an event and more like a season, although, idk, I’m not totally sure that Hoont could operate on a system like that

I really like the spider theme, but I wish it was on different guns instead of all the mosin variants.

Mosin already gets a lot of skins so it would've been nice if they chose something else, even something long ammo like the lebel or krag.

The event itself has been a blast and the lack of a narrated event story is really my only issue.

Mosin doesn't really get a lot of skins, it's just overused by the community so I think people conflate it with other guns like Uppercut/Sparks that get a new skin every year.
The base Mosin got a skin last year, and then before that it was 2021, and before that, 2019 where it got 3 at once.
The mosin variants didn't get any skins for 5-6 years, with the Bayonet's only skin being from the introduction of skins themselves in 2019, and the Sniper & Avto's last skins were from 2020. The Obrez is the one that got some the most often, and even then it was once every 2 years.

We basically know nothing about them. There's no entry or bit of lore that explains where they came from, why they appeared, or what they are. I doubt it's anything immediately related to the Sculptor because it appears more arachnid than insectoid.

She's also got a lot of themes going on. It almost feels like they couldn't decide on exactly what theme she should embody most. She's a former cultist who prays to the devil, she was formerly imprisoned, but now is free and out for revenge, she's a bounty hunter working alongside other hunters like Silver Spur, and she's got some sort of affinity for birds, particularly nocturnal ones that isn't exactly explained.

She's also basically just gothic cowboy girl on top of everything else she's already got going on with her.

Yeah, and that was one of the biggest reasons why I enjoyed the desolation's wake story so much is because a ton of hunters got mentioned.

I just miss when they'd actually make reference to what was actually happening in the game and mentioning the names of hunters new and old in the event story. That's where I think scorched earth fell particularly short on. Certain hunters like gouge, shade, and shroud just weren't mentioned at all, despite trailer material Thomas Bridge aka Mountain Man was not a narrator for the event story, certain plots like the grizzly lodge stuff and the bee and pig stuff with Hayali didn't really go anywhere.

Scorched earth was probably my least favorite narrated event story.

The boss targets and monsters we continuously hunt, kill, and turn bounties in on are actually just the same beasts being copied over and over.

I think what makes the sculptor the most terrifying is we don't exactly know how formidable it actually is. We don't know the full extent of it's power or what it's capable of.

I get that it makes it easier to understand but preferred the idea of there being multiple that had different forms/powers. A fire one that sets forests and towns alight, charred monsters roaming the burnt lands . A plant one, weeds bursting into massive forests in days, strangling buildings in vines, creatures overridden with fungi...

The multiple sculptors thing was never a real idea if I'm getting the background lore right. That early lore bit mentioning "A sculptor" was back when the idea was that the AHA misidentified an Adze (which is why it's insectile) as a sculptor, and ultimately made things worse when they broke its containment. In that version, sculptors were something weaker, so they wouldn't have different flavors of churning out monsters.
