In tide of desolation they talk about death pact, drowned pact and lawful pact trying to stop the spread of corruption by ensuring the graven path stays closed for good

And then like I said earlier, wilderness and and grounded have basically the same exact goals just a different setting

Primal doesn't trust lawful and doesn't share their vision of "justice"

Yeah Primal is interesting because they still value the nature of the land like grounded or wilderness would but their idea is that the strong will hunt the weak and that rule is law

Looking back on the interviews I find the felis one really interesting bc the reptilian one felt like lead up to his quest lines and hardin’s teased the saddle bags

But felis didn’t really tease anything

Like with this most recent update we're now able to save how we want our health bars to be which is something so many people always wanted and I don't think I could ever go back

Hm the Hardin one is interesting too in the sense that it could be fully voice acted since we now have canon voices for brewer and hardin

There is definitely potential there. I still think it'd be cool if they were able to do full fledged cutscenes for event stories like we see with the trailers

At some point I want an interaction between Mountie and Bridgewater since they've both fought wars on their respective frontiers and now they're both soldiers turned hunters

Mountie's bio even mentions that idea that he's now fighting in a new kind of war

It'd probably go poorly since Bridgewater was remorseful for his involvement while if Forsyth was actually involved in the one pre-1895 conflict the NWMP got into, the North-West Rebellion, he wasn't all that torn up about it. His weapon blurbs definitely make it seem like violence is his preferred brand of justice.

The interaction doesn't necessarily have to be in a positive mood. Hell, there's plenty of interactions in the lore that aren't very positive to begin with.

I'd like to think Forsyth and Bridgewater alike could relate to their experiences in some way.
Kind of like how Benjamin Martin and Jean Villeneuve interact in the film The Patriot.

It's almost completely the same, and references real world events fairly often. The few divergences from our own history are myths from around the world that almost nobody in the Hunt universe knows about related to previous incursions from The Sculptor or other paranormal things:
The Salem witch trials killed real witches.
During the Crusades the Templars were created from a giant chained up witch.
In Napoleon's time his horse was huge and could eat other horses somehow.
In Ancient Rome the Romans summoned and fed abominations connected with the Sculptor to overthrow empires.
In Ancient Egypt some Pharaohs touched upon the Land of the Dead somehow.
Very few details are ever given about these moments in history.

There’s really not a lot of details past what rai said— in the tide of corruption story chary has the murmurstone tell him stories from the past and he just lists a few of them off

The Murmurstone is a library for such tales.

It can only speak the truth, or so it says. It's presence demarcates a sacred boundary of the Sculptor's will and influence, much as the pomerium outlined the border of Rome. It is a force of physics and myth intertwined. Emperors have been driven mad with its promises.

The Murmurstone seems primed to tell the tales of women and men, but these are not the histories I am interested in. I seek epics never scribed by personkind and the knowledge hidden in them.

I wish to hear of the nameless "Silver Scarab Goliath" who pulped insectoid maidens into mercury at the first age of the Sculptor. There are fables of worms endlessly burrowing across desolate lands, sludging in unison, charting pathways and inscribing memories for a mind too big to shroud a single sky.

Still, the story I want to hear most eludes the Murmurstone's mouth.

Before when I could actually read Beast hunter's description because I own him it talks about him fearing snarling jaws and him trying to tame the Hellhounds which I guess could tie him to demented pact in a way but that part about him fearing it would make me think he'd want to prevent the spread of the corruption rather than amplify it through deranged worship. Then you've got Cain and Monroe who were only mentioned once in the tide of corruption story where they ambush the infernal pact by dropping a live hive on top of them. Aside from Cain and Monroe just simply being crazy people there's nothing deeper beyond that info that really ties them to the demented pact.

and taking a brief look at the event story I don't think the Scarecrow was even mentioned but he was for sure demented.

They all had specific mentions of being part of the demented pact. Unless someone is directly tied to the pact in some form of canon media, I wouldn’t use their appearance to speculate about them being part of the pact, and then extrapolating from that onto another hunter

Quick finding on the Face Your Fear dagger: the hole-punched design originates from Albacete, Spain. Many blades were forged there in the 19th century with that very specific barbell cutout. The shape of the dagger doesn't quite fit though, so it could just as easily be an inspiration rather than a lore connection.

and right now that compendium is all we have of the readable information that was formally present in the game

It includes everything from skin descriptions to the weapon unlock entries

I feel if we HAVE to do crossovers they should at least be fitting. Like there's a horror western movie called bone tomahawk, the main character of that is literally named sheriff hunt. Ghost face is silly, and I think original concepts for horror usually come out way better than licensed or ripped from folklore.

I will say that at least they chose a slasher(s) that has used guns in their movies. Characters who don't use guns being added to gun games was like the biggest issue in the world to younger me

I think going "If we have to" is too lenient. We literally don't have to, Hunt went 6 years without it. There's no good reason to accept characters from other IPs. I don't want to see literal Dracula despite it being a 19th century gothic character, nor Frankenstein's Monster. We have Ochenkov's Widow for that. Take back Hex Breaker if that's what it takes to remove the idea of crossovers, he's not literally Solomon Kane but he's borderline.

Not necessarily a lore discussion but I been thinking about the time period of hunt a lot and what might be appropriate for it.. a carnival theme. I did a basic Google search for the the traveling carnival and its close, It didn't necessarily start in the 1890s but became popular because a fair/carnival in Chicago. Although hunt mainly takes place in Louisiana I think with the addition of Colorado they could maybe add a carnival themed character and it wouldn't really be totally unrealistic.

event comes, we get a lore thats disconnected from the hunters we're introduced and really just a book of monsters entry, next event no lore at all, then instantly after a serial killer from the 1990s

And then they used both the text books in his car and the car itself to gain knowledge of the future and start manufacturing more advanced weapons and that's why modern guns start showing up in hunt. Oh God. Oh no.
