I wonder if Gar and Enola(?) are safe after the battle at the Mound.
It's unknown if all statues were destroyed, or just the ones nearest the Mound.
Gar most certainly died while trying to protect(?) Rotjaw in Tide of shadows after the battle over the Delphine's wreck
Butcher's Cleaver claims he witnessed her banishing atop Rotjaw's belly in the black fire you usually see when a target banishes
But that also doesn't necessarily mean she's staying dead since resurrection is commonplace in the lore
I'm also curious to know if those statues that are mentioned being in the land of the dead are actual statues with trapped souls in them, similar to Chary's clay soul traps we saw in Devil's moon
Which could mean the souls of Rotjaw, Enola and Gar were all trapped in the land of the dead but freed after the mound battle
It's all speculation on my part but it seems plausible
I think the rat muses in how you can turn into one of the statues after some time in the lotd
She thinks you do but most of the statues are of stories and not actual people trapped in there right?
The story of rotjaw and gar is there with the statue of the both of them
Some story’s of sherif harden
I could have sworn the literal, living Gar and Enola were curled up asleep in a statue of Rotjaw. It was in a Drowned Rat chapter. Lynch said she was keeping a promise.
That was a whole statue
It was Lynch sitting on top of Rotjaw with her mouth open and Enola and Gar were curled up together inside a "cradle of teeth"
It was a Sculptor of them but not actually them
OK, I'll reread it later.
Somebody should honestly draw it, visually it'd be a great background for a desktop
I now think Sculptor doesn't want to take over the world, but watch hunters fight each other so he can get more statues aka stories
Look, you can judge me all you want, but when she flips over in her death animation, all I wanna do is give that tummy some rubs.
I always give the belly rubs before I banish
Big soft gator belly—that’s what Hunt’s really about.
That and fun, gay dating fanfics.
And cool gloomy atmosphere.
WHERE’S MY HUNT DATING SIM, CRYTEK?
So despite the fact that it is a dead zombified alligator, yes I'd also give it belly rubs
heck yea bruther
The people over at Behavior interactive made a dating sim for Dead by daylight
I don't see why Crytek couldn't make one for Hunt Showdown
We also have plenty of talented artists who'd probably be more than happy to do the art work for such a project
who will win.. 2 slugs to the chest or one half charged chest shot with knuckles..
the knuckles it seems
LORE ACCURATE ^^^^^
whose the most powerful hunter, lore-wise and why is it redneck
Probably any of the ones that kind of can't die
kill guy 3 times..
begs me to stop
i stop..
shoots me in the back
some people really are bitter
im not mad.. im man enough to show charity..
i know what its like to just get owned over and over with no effort
i know it sucks out the joy of the game.
but to then get a vengence kill when your back is turned.. pathetic
Lore accurate betrayal
Concertina bomb and walk away
n'wah has started their villain arc
started?
Watch your mouth, fetcher

Same
I would love some more lore about the beginnings of the plague, how the Governor and AHA agents handle it, etc….how everything ended up in the state it is, in Stillwater and Lawson, Desalle….
Lots of collection/safety cages placed around, barricades erected…how’d all that happen? It would be awesome to have a great story behind it
Well we know the U.S. Government probably set up a quarantine zone around the state of Louisiana
We most certainly could use an event that allows us to glipmse in those times
Just imagine the lore potential
The Louisiana event, mostly/possibly fully redacted, has a newspaper chunk about how the gov is like lmao what plague? that's a poor person problem.
were the journals of charlie salter 3 and 4 ever released?
? Dude died to the twins sometime in Summer of 1895
Sometime not long after he kills mary, the twins walk into his cabin and kill him
going off BATS and the journals
thats william
charlie's journal is in the Crwon and King masteries and incomplete
A lot of characters like Marshall Brewer, Sheriff Hardin and Reverend Ishim were all present in Louisiana for the outbreak
Regions like DeSalle, Stillwater and Lawson were all populated and bustling with folk. Now those very same regions are filled with the undead and other abominable creatures, a ghost town to the living but a horde for the dead
How did the kid become a drowned
he was killed by the butcher's cleaver in tide of corruption (tied up & got his head blown off by a shotgun blast) and in the land of the dead he (alongside the other drowned) made a deal with Lynch to come back
Ah alrighty
A really one-sided deal
I think it’s a fire deal personally
Gets to come back to life?
And lynch lied to them anyways right? So they now just get to live for doing nothing
Idk this story was a lot more confusing
Im still not fully sure what happend
I just saw this (again) yesterday - blaming it on Yellow Fever too, IIRC. The old lore always seemed like they (AHA associates, Huff’s men…Governor’s men?) were trying to keep it as quiet as possible…. At some point there was definitely a large scale effort to place gear (like resupply caravans, and ammunition crates, caging/ fencing?) throughout the affected areas…
I bet a lot of it was done by the army, coordinated by the Governor…wonder what happened to those Army guys, though
tbf she was lying in the sense that they were fully meant to be sacrifices and fully die
I think they were meant to bring a bunch of people into the land of the dead to feed to the big monster
But they didn’t because they are better
Yeah, I don’t think they made an attempt to tie it together, or it was meant to be left undefined to keep their future story options open, if that even matters
The individual arcs got generally wrapped (DoD made peace w her past, beekeeper ascended, the drowned seemingly achieved what they wanted) but the underlying story didn’t have a clear conclusion
Is how I see it
For this current Event?
Yeah
Like I think they needed a conclusion written outside of the perspective of the DoD/beekeeper/rat
I still can't tell if Beekeeper turned into a giant monster and that's what they mean by "ascended"
Like the Demented's whole gimmick was revering the Sculptor and his work but wanting to become something more themselves
So did Beekeeper achieve this level of "sapience?"
I think the Beekeeper and the monster the Sculptor was cooking both got blown to smithereens. The Delphine was aimed right at it.
Yeah I think at the very least she became monster food
Hmm…sometimes it really does sound like some chatgpt stuff
damn I was hoping my theory of a flying insect wild target had come true 😭
I mean it makes sense too!
the noises in the ash bloom! all the flies buzzing around you!
nah. I'd expect to get a burrowing insect wild boss
as cool as a flier would be, would be super shitty to fight
watches spider crawl around the cannery or iron works yeah, please no fliers
burrowing insect would also just be land rotjaw lol
I think a really aggressive target would be neat, one that's constantly putting pressure on you
yeah, but they have to break up the fights somehow lol. I'd love a WB that created its own lair of sorts- a insect one that makes a hive
be a pain to code for im sure
what if
what if a flier, but flies around all over the map, you shoot it down in some compound and it makes a lair there and stops being a flier
that'd be cool
still kinda a pain
but if like, you sticky it/lance it/do enough damage/hit a weakpoint etc that drops it, that'd be cool
so you do have a reasonable shot at bringing it down
Will the other pacts return in the next tide?
Like Infernal, Lunar
Or maybe even the Primals or Smugglers from the tide of shadows
Doubt we will get another tide, the do events in threes
so likely it'll be a new trio of something else
We had 3 moons then, right?
Serpent, Devil, and which?
traitor, serpent, devil
Storm might be a idea
Maybe wasteland?
Or if the developers decide we might get even other name of desolation
For example in Spanish desierto
yeah, dunno
Maybe they will consider the first event being called „Desierto a la demonio”
Maybe some Mexican like hunters might be added
What do you say?
moon trilogy, tide trilogy, dunno. there could be almost anything as the next set
rumor mill says a more mountainy area
Plague trilogy
Plague of crows, plague of rot, plague of the common cold
lmao
just spitballing lol, thinking of something that could be used 3x times as the event title
not sure what you mean
plague as in a disease
The Rot Trilogy
Rotting Earth, Festering Woods, Plagued Beasts dunoo
could be anything lol. assuming we will get snow, and maybe fire?
Fire?
new map drops likely the first event
Yeah, we got fire with devil and fire with corruption
Caverns then?
mountain region would def have caves
Highland map would be complicated
yeah, idk. Been playing a lotta Far Cry 5 with the BF, and would love to see those kinda mountains in hunt
Makes sense
Wastelands maybe
Would be interesting
Or maybe a Pit?
Oh and a question
How were the pacts born?
born?
How were they created
Were there any special reasons?
Behind their lore of course
Idk, for example Demented pact, how come did they start worshipping the Sculptor?
The pacts got started when a group of hunters got together due to having a common enemy or theme to them- Lunar were created as they all didnt like what chary was doing
demented got started when Butcher and crew banded up, worshiping the sculptor. afaik there's not like, a starting point, more like the cleaver and crew slowly got more followers (bird crew for example) as other folks who aren't exactly right in the head realized they shared aspects with that pact
What about the infernal?
Honestly, It
's been a long time since the first infernal that I dont really recall what they were about. Infernal has afaik always been chary's group
Infernal 1 was Devil moon, and was Chary's group. Infernal 2 was TOC
infernal started as a mixture of people who were loyalists to the AHA and those loyal to Chary specifically
it's likely that by Tide of Corruption it was more just chary's followers
Is Chary still AHA as of this event?
Or did he die again or something
He turned to ash
A literal cloud of ash
Guess we know why he's afraid of clouds
Couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy, honestly.
Honestly, I’m a little sick of all the resurrection. It’s a very common thing in the story, and the gameplay of course, but it gets tough to keep up with.
tbh I'm fine with the ones that have happened since they were mostly all set up as the character wasn't staying dead
the rat's the only one that came back I was surprised by
but like w the kid, him being pretty explicitly sucked into the land of the dead had me like "oh he's relevant next event"
That’s another thing I need to catch up on. So, what IS the afterlife in Hunt? There’s references to damnation and the Land of the Dead and wherever the Hell the Sculptor comes from.
Is it like a Rick Riordan thing, where every mythology is right simultaneously, or what?
I don't think it's done rly anything to confirm any sort of mythology, more of set up its own
I think that characters are using language familiar with them to describe what they see, as opposed to there being a christian hell or stuff like that, if that makes sense
Yeah, that’s what I figured as well. It’s human interpretation of whatever it is they’re seeing. But then you get people, I guess, interacting with interpretations you wouldn’t expect them to have?
Like, the Kid doesn’t seem like he’d believe in the Mexican Land of the Dead, and yet, there he is.
yea I don't think it's the mexican land of the dead
I do wish the experiences people had in the LotD were more personalized. We got a hint of that with the chapter where everyone saw their own apparition as it passed them
but I wish that overall the theming was less nautical
it fits the thirteenth mate and the captain, but imagine if the kid was more fire and ash, while the rat was more... idk, but something related to her own personal struggles
Agreed. It all feels so… Inconsistent.
I think it's consistent with what it's presenting, but a missed opportunity
it's an interesting land of stasis, which I think the statues do capitalize. the whole concept of eventually you'll just fade and become a statue after wandering in the endless swamp. it's not necessarily Hell in the sense that it's there to punish you, but at the same time it seems maddening to be there for any stretch of time
I'd love to learn more of just like. the straight up facts of it, but hunt doesn't tend to give those lol
What happend last event?
There was stuff about boats
And some hunters drown
Ah alrighty
@severe sleet Kidding. I catch up on this page. https://huntshowdown.fandom.com/wiki/Lore#Event_Stories
I read all the way back to Tide of Shadows last night. Now I understand what I saw down in Kingsnake Mine this event.
At this point, not a single one
They pop back up like whack-a-moles
Did my boy carcass die 😭
carcass is seemingly alive rn
Mr chary
Bro too buff to die
chary's dead-ish right now but not likely to stay dead
Man hated clouds so much he turned into one
He singlehandedly beat racism
billy story is presumably dead but that hasn't been confirmed
butcher's cleaver is pretty dead
Night seer
no he's alive
this is what i made at the beginning of the event
to keep track
beekeeper is presumably dead now as well
captain lafitte also seems to be gone for good
I was gonna for a while but I returned to the bayou, and why is there a Crocodile!!!! Did reptilian finally change
Gone*
So anyone not on that list is alive and well?
yeah
Thank you
How's Killian dead?
stabbed through the ribs by the gar at the end of tide of shadows
it's possible he survived but he's likely out
the gar is also in a murky status rn where she seems to be in the land of the dead napping in the rotjaw statue's mouth w enola
but w the name drop of death cheat I think she'll be back
Anyone know the gun lore for hunt
like... how they have weapons?
need some more context on that question lol. lotta guns with a lotta lore
Some crazy man in Siberia shaved down the bolt on his Mosin and some really confusing mechanical processes later he had himself a Huot rifle before the year 1916
Okay no that's a lie
most of the guns in hunt though are real and if you take the history of the people who actually invented them but replace their name like Caldwell instead of Colt then it's just the same lore
So in the year 1911 a man by the name of John Moses Browning will go onto make the Caldwell M1911 semi automatic pistol and one of America's most prevalent handguns.
God...
Literally calling it the "Caldwell" M1911 pistol is cursed
Like how bright idea was it to put an axe head on a shotgun, or knuckle dusters on a revolver
dunno actually. some of the leg weapons have explanations for why they are how they are, but Im not a weapons expert to answer this.
Most of them come from ingenuity of the hunters
Why put an axe handle on a drilling? Cuz it becomes an even more versatile weapon
Why knuckle duster on a revolver? Cuz its easier to punch a guy with the gun you already have at hand
That said some DO have story, at the top of my head I think the guns dealer fella, carcass dealer or something, made the carabine out of an agent revolver once he had his arm broken I think
But maybe Im delirious I have to read the lore again XD
Little late to the party; but It seems we got confirmation that Enola, and Gar are in fact the same in chapter 12?
well they're both seen in the statue of Rotjaw and Lynch says it's the fullfilment of a promise she made
I think that it might also be her fulfilling it by bringing Enola to the statue of RJ
Like they’re both together
I heard that the gar was intended to be transfem and that’s what her backstory is referring to, which is why I don’t think that her and Enola are meant to be the same
Yea
I didn’t know I could love Gar more
Ikr
Okay I've listened to the full story and I think I understand most of what happened.
When hunters use altars and shit a piece of ourselves is taken to the land of the dead by the sculptor and gathered in that mound thing
I just wish there was a conclusion

Gestating inside the mound is some great big sculptor-larvae-bug thing that the bee keeper wants as a surrogate child, lynch wants to turn into a living weapon against the sculptor, and is ultimately killed by the drowned saving the Bayou from the devastation of the tide of desolation and returning them to life.
In the process Captain Laffite merges with the Delffine and attones for having abandoned her in the storm of 1893
Presumably saving the bayou but not necessarily the land of the dead.
Also the moon might be the sculptor(?)
That would explain why Linus is described as a quote-un-quote False Saint, and the connections between the sculptor and the moon and why Chary is waging a war on the moon.
But the sculptor has been described also as a bug on the moon, and the moon and sculptor are described as being at war (?)
Also you've mixed up your lesbians*. Lulu and Sofia don't show up in Serpent's Moon you're thinking of the Nun and the Witch Hunter; those are the two who adopted Kevin.
*(Mary and Circe are not cannonically gay this is just my HC)
Oh I’m talking abt how in the trans day of visibility, one of the writers mentioned she headcanoned lulu and Sofia as adopting Kevin after DM
The entire lunar pact adopted Kevin tho lbr
fr fr fr
I really like the idea of like
He’s kinda worshipped by a lot of the non legendary hunter lunar pact
Hence the whole false saint thing
But the legendaries just see him as the kid he is
Idk if I got that reading— I think the moon is a separate force from the sculptor but it was mentioned to have been corrupted by it to an extent
It's why I'm reading over the lore in an attempt to find diffinitive proof one way or the other.
Either the first traitor’s moon chapter or the prequel to it mentions something abt the moon as an entity
In Devil's Moon Chapter 8 Charry says "No child can stop us, no moon, no Sculptor. Our dear Mary’s transformation has proven it. This is the power we needed, and it shall only grow from here!" which points towards them being seperate entities
It seems to have a presence in the lotd, since she’s throwing hands w chary lol
I think in the end the drowned also do take in the sins of the bayou since the rat muses on how she doesn’t feel much different from before or w/e
And I think they go back to being more living than undead since a mosquito lands on her cheek and drinks some of her blood
Okay Jellico describes the land of the dead as "a deadland underwater... ...ruled by an insect on the moon with a brain among the stars and a body as hollow as air." In Chapter Eight of Tide of Corruption
And on a side note LYNCH FOUNDED THE FUCKING KNIGHTS TEMPLARS!
That is assuming that the witch refered to in Chapter 11 of that same event is in fact Lynch
Yea ig I think I take that as just a separate entity from the sculptor
Lmao lynch is the gaslight gatekeep girlboss queen
If I understand things correctly the Sculptor is not the moon but lives on the moon, and Chary tried to use the moon's power to fight the Sculptor but has only suceeded in making the moon vulnerable to the sculptor.
That could be it. I’m not certain the sculptor is the one that rules the land of the dead. It certainly has influence on it but there’s also other things that could be in charge
I’d totally believe chary made the moon more vulnerable to it lol
The Lord of the Dead certainly seems a distinct though ambivalent entity
But does the lord of the dead rule the land of the dead or the just the dead themselves
I wonder if it’s something beyond all of them tbh
Like the moon/lord of the dead might be on one tier of power
Then the sculptor
And then whatever rules the land of the dead, but it’s almost beyond caring on all that stuff
Thinking of the “brain in the stars” but
Bit*
My understanding was that the sculptor is using the moon as a mirror, and that the moon is fighting back by reflecting the plague to only louisiana
i thought there was some part of SM or TM that mentions this, but will have to go look back to find it
Def curious to see if we find out what/who the Lord of the Dead is
and also tailcoat man. Unless he is explained and I'm jsut dum
What if Lynch/the Demented monster/The Lord of the Dead become a new boss 👀
🤯
Either Lynch or Beekeeper is new wild target
We still have two confirmed wild targets to recieve and I'll be damned if one of them isn't a giant bug or Lycan
I think more wild targets are still far away
With the new map and everything else getting closer
I wonder if they're gonna do an alternating release schedule of like, a map one year, and then a year or two years of new targets/actual bosses
I don't think we'll ever get yearly maps, but one big release a year makes sense
probably. I'd not be shocked if we DID get another boss (roaming) next year
but not shocked if we only get map
Did Helmsman die?
Oh well, as long as Burnt Marshall and Lloroma stay fine
Oh and Sgt. Bridgewater too
burnt marshall and llorona's heir might be dead lol
The Rat apparently killed him along with a bunch of other Smugglers.
they're in the murky "the death pact shot up the infernal pact's event" status
the rat ripped apart some people but the helmsman wasn't named as a ripped apart person
so he's in a murky spot
Nah they lived
Remember Infernal pact has a large following
I'm confident they survived and made it out
I mean it's not impossible that they're alive, it's just also very possible that they died
Nah not possible at all
They lived for sure
100% alive
Can't tell me other wise
Nah. The Rat saw him panicked, next thing we know the Smugglers she met are all dead.
It’s in the same murky zone as the infernal pact. She killed people but they weren’t specifically named. He could be dead or he could be alive
Like, I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s dead but it’s a distinct possibility he’s alive
The helmsman was with two other smugglers those are the ones the rat and captain ripped apart
I got to the final chapter and I didn't understand an effin thing
are the drowned restored, or were they just spat back out in the bayou as they were?
pretty sure they were restored
Is the devils advocate dead? I’m not sure. I remember he was alive last event right?
murky "might have been shot by the death pact but not confirmed" status the rest of the infernal pact shares
could be alive, could be dead
Good enough for me haha. I like him, I don’t want him to be dead
Fair ig. Well, that would be better for me, I like the Helmsman.
The origins of Hunt Showdown is extremely cryptic and mysterious with only some clippings off articles giving us a rough idea. So in this episode we look into what could have been the the event known as the Louisiana Event and how that influenced the Hunt Showdown universe.

A great explanation of old lore
Nah he alive too
Nothing happened to Infernal buddies
They all still kickin'
is Sheriff Hardin still around?
yes
what is the lore for prices going up way back?
inflation
Prices for what?
they should make a ttrpg out of this
About the Frisk family. There is Leonel Frisk (Lonely Howl), Remus Frisk (Dire Wolf) and Felicia Frisk (Luna Wolf).
First question - Is Lionel son to both or is Remus brother to him?
Second question - Why did Lionel fled his family to Bayou?
Third question - Why did Remus and Felicia follow him?
- Remus and Felicia are his parents
- because he attempted to murder Remus and then went off on his own
- they wanted to either kill him or bring him back into their pack. It seems like they made peace with him w Frau Perchta’s assistance
Thank you
Quite unique lore behind such family
Lonely Howl my favorite anyways
out of all legendary hunters
his DLC is on top anyways
Did you not see his floppy wolf pelt?
What's up with bloodlines trailer
It was trailer to nothing
And has dates all jumbled
It might've to announce changes coming to the actual bloodline (how the new unlock system works, etc)
Does anyone have an insight into why Doctor Huff Jones tried to assassinate Sheriff Hardin? The only "lead" I can find, is that it had something to do with Lynch.
I wouldn't say good. Less evil perhaps lol
That's already something ig. Compared to the Cleaver or Billy...
tbh I think he's a lot more like
standard lawful evil
he's really willing to just totally fuck people over to get his own power
like framing that guy as a serial killer so he could become sheriff
Tho ever since the outbreak, most of what we had was him trying to help people.
he did send a bunch of children to their death
to the point where it's memorialized in the land of the dead
idk, I think he's an interestingly complex character where he does a lot of really bad things, while ostensibly doing things for the "greater good"
Only 200.. give him a break
What entry is this from? :))
Oh
like alpaca said, baseball bat!
right. But still baseball
yup!
oop just saw
diamond killer, umpire bane, eh, sportsball dudes
lol
just gonna say... football was invented in 1869
not dressed the same as now obv, but... could have more sportsballs
the parallels he paints between hardin & the previous corrupt sheriff I think are interesting
hardin is a big player with the AHA i suspect. He's who links Private Eye in, the kids, etc... wonder if weathers was sending the vagrants out just as hardin did the kids, or if he was just a murderer who got off on killing the easily missed
I think things only really kicked off in 93 so I think weathers was just regular corrupt
fair, and dunno if id call killing people corruption lol
You wnat the funniest Hunt lore convo I ever had.
Thank you!
I can't find the journal of Candice - what entry is that in? I thought it was one of the Scottfields
There is one entry of hers in the New Army Swift
she had a more recent one too, with one of the krags i think
Thank you, guys ❤️
re the blue light from the gameplay stream: is that a map change at kingsnake?
it's the graven path, an entryway to the land of the dead. came with the new event
right, but is it actually in the map?
sweet
like the big trees and burnt wheat
i started playing again during the event, so idk anything
Centy blunt, no?
@upbeat kiln
swear she's got the cent blunt as well.
Trauma!
She's got an entry in the trauma.
Also @upbeat kiln I love your hunt lore videos.have you considered doing one on the events of Darktide.
As for my funniest hunt lore discussion well A fellow hunbt player said team RWBy wouild do well in the world of hunt dhowdown.
I said hell no then I told them to look up how hives are created then look up the origin of Meatheads.
Aahh yes. Thank you ❤️
one day we'll get something to easily reference what hunters have lore where
like I've memorized where to find my favorites but half the time when I try and remember what hunters had things where it just is me going to the wiki and clicking through each gun until I find what I'm looking for
So what Hunters that we can play as do yall think are definitely Witches/Warlocks
So far I think it's: Gar, Beekeeper, the Night Seer, and maybe Bone Doctor but I don't really count him
Cause Voodoo is its own thing
is there any lore reason as to why we have a time limit in our matches?
No one can survive exposure to the corruption for more than 60 minutes.. I mean 45 minutes.
Except for those who can
lol
It's not very consistent
I thought it was something like that, I get some people are simply constructed alternatively
lol, I love this phrase
There's a few people that have a natural immunity
I'm assuming there's a whole lot of corruption through the Graven path
a ton of hunters went in and only a few came out alive
We've got several versions of the innoc, tho seems rn the one we are getting is the demon version from Lynch. There are records of folks being more immune (redneck) but in the end spend too much time in the corrupted region you're gonna get got one way or the other.
Is there any Lore explanation about the water in the game ? We have shipyards, docks and other ship related stuff. It would be ok, if these facilities produced only boats and yachts, but on De-Sale we have a quite big steamboat, but the water level in the area isnt higher than a waist. Is there some kind of supernatural drought happened in the game lore ?
prob going to come with a centennial skin, given the Royal Mounted Police bought 750 around that time. https://www.rockislandauction.com/detail/83/1020/northwest-mounted-police-winchester-model-1876-carbine. I really hope that they are wearing the red coat, but not holding my breath.
no i know
these guys were pretty sick
im hoping for the redcoat
too iconic not to imo
Where's that from?
How come we get canadians before we get a texas ranger
we got enough americans i been waitin for a canadian hunter for a while
What? a Canadian hunter?!
I’m Very happy you will finally get on, Silver!
Not that I know of, likely the water is lower than would make sense for gameplay reasons.
I could very well be wrong but I think there was mentioned somewhere that something caused the water to not flow as much as it used to.
I do think that Darin’s shipyard looks a bit misplaced tho
So would Port Reeker too tbh.
yeah. both a fairly land locked all things considered
Darins makes less sense as there's a waterfall one way, and bridges the other. Assuming ships build there would have to go past bolden to get out
reeker idk all together
assuming that the water there has been lower for a long time, but also the church. Dunno. It doesn;t make sense as a "port" in the traditional sense
That's also just game limitations. You shouldn't be able to walk like that in the bayou's waters, it's too deep and dangerous to begin with.
It is what it is.
Darin is indeed quite weird, but Stillwater's feedback told the devs players do not want more vast areas of water.
yarp. mostly guessing we dont see logic with the port and darin for gameplay
So there's just a big one in front of the building and then that's it.
Darin and bolden could swap
not that they will
but would be more like the fishery
in terms of locical placement.
ah it's 7 am and im sleepy. logical
Darin was once a very profitable shipyard
lore wise
but like... where the boats go>
Well on that same note, why do you have so many people at Lawson's station where the only thing close to a town there is the parish. You even have a prison and 3 military buildings.
I'd hazard the station is there because of the prison, not that I have any more to back it up
lore
But also afaik there is no rail between
dunno. Convenience stop
The amount of luggages suggest you'd have just people going there to visit. But there isn't anything to visit lol.
yeah, thought the same thing
if it was close to a mill or such for transport that's make sense
sweetwater
god i cant recall what it's purpose it
is
Even if it's quite hard to not see, we're still overthinking it XD
Sweetbell ? That's just a water mill, no ?
yes, but mills served a purpose
ground wheat/corn etc, would track to have a way to sell that/transport elsewhere
easier to use water to grind then manual/animals
To the parish maybe.
lol I was actually gonna offer this as an explanation earlier but then the truck rolled in and had to go check it
We have to make our little hunt world believable...LOL
Skål
Tell me Louisiana is French without telling me Louisiana is French.
Not lore but new gun variation idea
Nagant officer hatchet?
Fuck it yeah sure
Haha - I think there aren’t more medium size ‘reverse’ combo weapon styles because you might end up pointing the muzzle at yourself while swinging them
I think they SHOULD add brawler variants for the vandals/shorty lever guns, put some knuckle studs on the lever loop
what is the drowned pact exactly?
"Unleashed from the Land of the Dead, The Drowned pact roams the Bayou. They are plagued with bloat and the curses of sunken ships. Each Drowned struggles to save their fate from sinking once more."
direct quote from the event information
thanks google
Basically Lynch empowered bunch of the most promising dead guys to do her bidding
What’s this book
Judjing by the location, probably toilet paper
I’m satisfied with this answer
What's the name of Reptilian's Ward ritual scarring?
I think it’s called crocodile scarification
How and why did funny fur coat man die?
which one
Billy story had his throat slit by sofia (presumably)
Black coat’s not dead
Black coat was dead but came back during tide of corruption
?
he was not dead
there's nothing that states he came back from the dead within ToC and seems more like BATS exaggerated his confrontation w the twins
He was never dead to begin with then?
yes
Oh wow interesting
there are several researchers notes that mention how BATS should be taken both as utter nonsense and the gospel truth
but it's looking like he was not killed in that interaction (or lynch raised him after they killed him)
Black coat be like
BATS seems to be a situation where you should take everything in it as fact, until it's contradicted somewhere
and then go w the contradiction as the truth
which imo is a cool way of handling the way lore is presented through different sources
where not all are reliable
imo we got a nod from the devs with the statues of what lore is real and what lore isnt
with the statues in the LOD
"real"
yeah
and new lorebook will also help i hope
I hope if LOD becomes a map we get those statues around the map
same
I doubt we're getting a lotd map any time soon
I'd love to see the Rotjaw with Enola and Gar in her mouth
Let a man wish
duo team and go fight her 😉
how long would it take someone to write out a summary of the lore that i could read in under 20 minutes
like start to finish i know basically 0 lore
What’s LOD? What’s BATS??
Land of the dead (the location), bad as they seem (story in the book of weapons)
I always thought this was a cultist gospel - and that they would build more on some weird occultist beliefs/practices that were connected to some people (like Huff-Jones) and maybe members of the AHA, and directly related to the strange events in HUNT….this was before the lore became completely schizophrenic…the books have been there since Hunt started, IIRC…at least since i’ve been playing, anyway
Thanks
Ooo
Lynch will be the witch. @ me when this is true
The main bad guy is the Sculptor. They might be the moon or from the moon. Friends with Ranni from Elden Ring. Never get to meet them.
Hellhounds are mastiffs
Being a woman in the bayou is shit tier, either die becoming a hive, or give birth and die to meatheads
Lynch is a cool woman who is like a gray jedi, gets cool powers since birth from the evil shit but hates the evil shit. Disappeared
American Hunter Association are like these old monster hunters that came in to stop the evil. In over their heads, mostly defunct.
Everyone is an unreliable narrator so the rest barely matters.
What do we know about the sculptor so far? I read the ToC entries from this event, but I'm not even sure if he literally sculpts stuff or if he petrifies people or some shit
I think they only mention it a few times? It’s very vague, really no extra context, “…might be dealing with a Sculptor” … we can grasp at straws, but I’m guessing it has never been planned out
The name makes it sound like it was just a filler detail in the flavor content of the original lore entries - I doubt it was ever meant to be taken this seriously by fans, haha
I see someone made a TV Tropes entry for it, people are really running away with it!
“We the demented, vow to let the Sculptor make of us the Sculpted..” ???
He attempted to sexually assault lulu
@rocky yoke Dunno about what the folk above posted. Bunny was a german shepherd per the lore, who likely became the first hellhound. The hellhounds we have aren't really based on sheepers tho either in body, but the OG was a german sheepy named Bunny (for his ears).
The Sculptor is an otherworldly being that is most def NOT the moon. Moon is a totally dif spirit who is actively trying to limit the sculptor's powers to Louisiana. IMO the sculptor is a cthulu style monster that can not actually be defeated- just put back into the hell box until it's powerful enough to get out once more. Old hunt lore has multiple over the centuries, this one is bug based, hence the chitin on armored, leeches, hives, etc...
The Hunter Association is a global group that fight back against the supernatural. The American Branch had several regions- the Louisiana one has gone belly up with the death of Finch and Huff, and the pacts separating the hunters out. The innoc they took also makes them super bloodthirsty, so doubt that helped.
Women in the swamps do get the worst, but we do have female grunts and Hunters. The Innoc sterilizes you- the meathead came from a hunter that didnt get it, got knocked up, and gave birth to the meathead. AFAIK that's the only meathead- the rest are replicas sculpted by the sculptor, who doesnt really appear to make new shit but instead copy and pastes things it likes.
@granite shard lmk if there's any errors in that, angry wrote it
Did you not read her lore?
She is evil
How so
No, the boss is the sculpted one, the regular meatheads are regular births
the boss was created by a human
it's literally in his lore. he was rezzed in a lightning storm
all creatures are copies of 1 original being
Bunny, the german shepherd turned hellhound, was the OG hellhound. The rest are copies. The Meathead was the child of a hunter. The waterdevils are probably the only non-copy i can think of- they undoubtedly can and have spread from their origin
She is rizzing a little in her lore
So the only non repeated creatures would be the water devils, the ghouls and the hives ?
To some extent (all creatures ended up being copied).
Hives could also be copies. the OG one was the mother of... ada? in the hive lore. But the kid also had a hive growing in her, so could be something that is homegrown
yeah
most everything is likely copy pasted now
from the flesh clay under the earth. I'm not an expert, just not agreeing with dude above
I do think many women became hives during the outbreak. A handful became Armoreds, only one notable Immolator and Meathead.
As many creatures as we kill- even in the lore they express frustration about killing things over and over with no end to the monsters- I'd think the sculptor is pasting as fast as we kill
agreed. I suspect most stuff is really from 1 og creature, that the sculpty went "this is mine now" and farted out a bunch of knockoffs
The sculptor be like :
bro thinks he's him but hes just a bug on the moon doing cosmic plagiarism
I don’t think any of the enemies are “copies”….I think enjoying the game just requires the smallest suspension of disbelief..all the enemy types are part of the game mechanics and design, and it’s impossible to have each instance be unique
It doesn’t seem like a stretch to me to think that the hive transformation happened to lots of women..
Maybe they should change the lore? The meathead story never felt like a satisfying explanation
Looks like they've added the new Mountie hunter to the upcoming DLC page on Steam
And said hunter has revealed that the Cult of the Demented has spread as far North as Canada… either that or this is yet another example of Europeans not understanding that the North America is really really big
Right, I thought that part was particularly interesting. Perhaps that's a hint that the new map may be based in the North? Additionally, has this John Victor fellow appeared elsewhere in the lore?
I think it's possible that things have spread-- people have come to the hunt from across the US and have also run away from the hunt
what gun had the guy going fuck this shit I'm out?
You can say that
I wonder if like, people leaving has had an impact
like they might be innoculated but they still carry some form of the corruption w them
While John Victor is not a major character he has a nack for being in the orbit of major characters in the story.
He was one of the first hunters to encounter the Spider and believes he was personally responsible for creating it.
every time he comes up, I'm always struck by how goofy a name John Victor is
two first name having dumbass 😂
I think his actual name is John Voelkel
And he just anglicized Voelkel to Victor when he immigrated
He also has some kind of history with Lynch and risked life and limb to try and warn the Twins that Lynch was not to be trusted
maybe? I thought the hunter in the tutorial was him
and he sounded pretty natively southern
That’s right
guess he could have immigrated as a baby and his parents had to change their name
Or it could be a John Wayne situation
also this is off topic from john victor but I wonder if the mountie's gonna get tied up w the night of the hunter cult
mostly due to the writing on his coat and he also had infernal pact trait art on his wall
was rereading some of the stuff to find the bit about "this is the first form of blahblahblah (Bunny gun has it for the hellhounds)" and apparently the Twins had a connection to the NOTH cult
He’s also on top of being the character who guides the player through the Tutorial the guy who narrated the Tide of Corruption trailer I think.
in the john Victor Mosin stuff
tide of corruption trailer I think is a different voice actor
at the least, they had a sheet with the NOTH logo
george something has done a lot of the trailer voice overs
Note on this, they have moved to the US, right? I saw a dev post about it at somepoint. I'd think that the influence is shifting- after all, the new map is rumored to be northwest mountains
also whoever said the cent was prob gonna be the skin that comes with him was right
don't think it's a case of them not knowing that the US is wayyyy bigger than the EU
the next map will probably either be canada or northern US
riding distance from where a mountie would be
I can’t go into details here because of certain rules about what we are and are not allowed to talk about but I can DM you
sure
maybe the alberta area?
why not alberta? lol
too cold
luckily when playing hunt showdown I do not have to be impacted by the map's weather 😂
peak winter cain would unironically keel over and die within minutes of getting there
good
I have a friend who actually just moved to calgary like last night
their family lives there and they're like "yea cost of living is cheaper than toronto so"
but yea I feel like alberta would be cool bc mountains and cold so it would be a totally new sort of biome for hunt
i live in edmonton
too cold
not many hunters would actually be good in the clothin they in
Maybe the Appalachians?
If they had it be all foresty and cold, somewhere in the Appalachians would fit since it’s still in the south
i mean, desalle doesn't exactly scream "Louisiana"
I’ve been wondering where desalle exactly is since I don’t know if the ground is like that anywhere in Louisiana
it's supposedly south of new orleans
lmao yea
Like muddy swamp too
I was thinking somewhere in Texas, but if it’s supposed to be south of New Orleans then idk
I'm glad it doesn't visually look like south of new orleans bc it's such a nice visual difference but yea it's silly that it's supposed to be there
Odd
maybe in Hunt the Appa Mountains are below New Orleans
I think some of the locations being off stuff is due to them possibly not originally having plans for a "story"
That just, wouldn’t make any sense
Also, why does Lawson delta still have so much civil war stuff lying around. I understand the fort and trenches and stuff but entire cannons just strewn about
yet
here we are
Oh! They explained that one. They just straight up didnt have time to clean it all up apparently. I think it's in one of the location lore bits
Oh, neat!
I’m trying to look for a location in Texas that fits the rocky yet bald crypressy look of de salle
gl
fort car was essentially abandoned. likely it wasn't worth the effort to reclaim/move the cannons, but also I'm sure they liked the idea of having the cannons/balls/etc still there 25 years after the CW
Yeah
ok desalle might be north of NO. I thought one of the book of weapons bits mentioned it being south of NO but the teasers for desalle said to head north to it
Yeah
They probably spiked the cannons and decided that was enough
All you really need to do to make a cannon inoperable is to shove a metal spike into the touch hole and it’s now impossible to fire
De Salle is North of the New Orleans
let me see if I can't find what I had been looking at that made it seem south of it
In the Song Dark in New Orleans the Port Sulfur band says they’re heading South to New Orleans.
And in in the lore for The Port Sulfur Band they were in DeSalle when the town fell to the Sculptor and they fought their way out.
In the DeSalle saloon you can actually see a picture of the band.
This is also what the “Two above; three below” lyric references. As the band lost three of its two members in their escape from DeSalle
I feel like I had been looking at something else, but it might have been the lemat carbine lore that made me put desalle south of NO, or at least them being pretty close together since sister sophie angeline mentions one of the shootout victims being placed in at the gates
so like they're close enough for lulu & sofia to transport the body & the news to spread within a week
lulu and sofia off seducing a nun while hardin's investigating their murder spree lmao
(I say within a week bc the desalle shootout is dated sometime around the last week of June 95 based on the scottfield swift lore for reference)
It’s worth noting that they found the Journal at the Convent in New Orleans.
yeah, my assumption there was this first entry was all there, and then the ironside half of the lore was elsewhere in the bayou
It’s a distinct possibility that the Journal was written elsewhere and then taken to the Convent at some later point.
After all if Sophie-Angeline was stationed in New Orleans she would already know the Bishop coming to visit her is her abuser because New Orleans is the seat of Diocese of New Orleans.
I revise my statement this journal could not possibly have been written while Sophie-Angeline was living in New Orleans.
New Orleans doesn’t have a bishop
As it is the seat of the archdiocese it doesn’t have a bishop it has an Archbishop.
could it not be a bishop from another area?
despite being raised catholic I do not know much abt like. how bishops work
I was going to make a chess joke abt their movement but I forget if they're the diagonal or straight forward ones
Bishops move diagonally.
And the way the Catholic Theocracy works is that areas where Catholics live are divided into territories that are overseen by Archbishops and those areas are then subdivided into smaller areas overseen by Bishops and those areas are subdivided into parishes which are based around churches who have Priests and Deacons
We could also be over thinking this.
very possible lol
The gun fight at DeSalle killed two people and entailed the post mortem mutilation of the dead after which one of the only two survivors - himself a prominent ranch owner - disappeared. That would be national news even in 1895.
but I do have to wonder how much stuff would have been getting suppresed by that point
in regards to that's pretty much right before tide of shadows happened, so desalle was already getting hit by sculptor stuff
A massacre like what happened would have been impossible to suppress
I want to know at what point desalle became a dead zone
I think we might just have to chalk this up to gameplay and story segregation.
Because while the maps we play in are devoid of civilians the lore itself seems to portray DeSalle as at the very least being semi populated as late as July of 1895.
Does anyone know where the first part of the interview with Fenelle Cleve is?
The second and thirst are in Vetterli lore but I don’t remember where the first part is
Found it!
By the by the lore entry for the Lebel Aperture is missing so some one who knows how to edit wikis should add it
oh cool, I was trying to find what guns released around the time of the silenced vetterli and wasn't having any luck
Okay here’s what I got: as with other regions of Louisiana the corruption in DeSalle started slowly in the 1890s and then snowballed out of control in 1894 and 95.
As in Lawson and Stillwater the corruption was identified as a disease but while those communities responded with quarantines and evacuations DeSalle responded by ignoring the problem.
Is there any link for desalle being fall to the other two being (assume) spring/summer?
The environment for one
Wasn't sure if there was a written lore reason
The Trees in DeSalle are all in their autumn colors which was part of the reason I thought the time line was finally advancing and dismayed by the know the Moon Trilogy and the first chapter of the Tides Trilogy tied the timeline into.
But we’re not getting into the fact that 1895 sequence of Tide of Shadows simultaneously takes place before, during, and after Devil’s Moon and As Bad as They Seem
Bad as they seem definitely takes place during the moons and tides
Which is fine because it's not an event or anything
The moons don't take place during the tides, Lisa is not as I can tell
Tides are fall. Mom s are summer
Moons
Tide of Shadows takes place in July
I've been thinking abt the timeline recently
Need to go to PC lmao, can't type on phone for shit
Because that’s when Rotjaw first appears
and I do think that it's possible for the moon events to have started before BATS
Rotjaw appears, yes, but the event actually happens after
or at least just after huff was killed
Chary rose to power after Huff was killed
Or the culmination
like, finch brings chary into the AHA sometime before huff's death
and so he has time to build rapport between him and hunters, and then after huff's death the schism starts
Herg I need my timeline
so it could be a short time between huff's death and traitor's moon
I still think the timeline there is kinda fucky bc kevin chases after chary for at least a month
if they push huff's death to jan/feb 95 I think things would work better
The mortar practice going on out here is wild. Sounds like someone keeps slamming a dumpster down. Bleh.
To explain my frustrations. In Traitors Moon it is established that Chary is the new Administrator of the American Hunters Association. Which means Traitor’s moon must take place after Lynch killed him. Serpents moon takes place several weeks after that, and Devil’s moon an indeterminate time after that.
Issue is, huff was alive until May at least
The problem is Huff was killed sometime after June of 1895
I mean I totally get your frustration w the timeline bc I think it's really fucky rn too
He could very well be dead and son didn't know yet
they retconned the cascade mountain stuff for an unknown reason w the wayfarer, and the teche wraith's name for apparently cultural reasons, so I don't think them going back and changing dates for huff would be that bad
are we confirmed to be getting a lore book?
like in game book of lore not an actual published lore book lol
(tho that would slap)
The letter still proves Huff is a alive
?
but I feel like what happened was they had like Flavor Lore set up early on and weren't planning on hunt running this long, but suddenly it's a pretty successful game and now they're having to expand things more but they had been wanting to keep things to '95 (with the plan to expand into '96 w a big thing like the map) and kinda got fucked w timeline stuff bc of that
The letter details Victor Caldwell’s sniper attack on the compound that attack occurred June 27th 1895
is that the one signed "-P"?
if so, there's been speculation that letters signed -P are from huff's son
Yes that one
not confirmed, but potentially
It’s labeled “Correspondence Phillip Huff Jones”
idk he died somewhere between may and june 95
Meaning Huff has to be either the author or recipient of the letter
If it’s the son (if the son is even a character) then it would be Philip Huff Jones Jr.
There are two possibilities either Huff is writing to his Father; or it is Huff’s son writing to him either case indicates Huff was alive as later as June 1895
it's unclear if it's Huff Sr to his dad, or Huff Jr to Sr
idk, I think they just need to push dates back
I know some people would be mad abt a retcon that big but I think that it would be beneficial to the story as a whole to do a review of old lore and adjust timeline stuff to have things make sense going forward
At this point I’m willing to write off everything before Autumn of 1895 as happening in a time knot
do you just... have caps lock on by default on your pc 😂

i was playing palworld
or lethal comp
p[rolly lethal and got excited
i'd guess chary has been sniffing around for a while
so I think there is something to be said for TM happening within a month of huff's death
Chary was brought into the hunt by finch
they had a whole dinner thing where finch brought chary in-- it's what chary recreated in his dramatic thing in ToC
it's may
but yeah shrug emoji I think they just need to push back the huff timeline stuff into late 94/early 95
sorry for smol
i took all the actuyal,. real dates i could find and put them in order
got spelling is so hard
Huff is dead sometime after may 21st, when his lasat letter is written
tmoon happens in june, but could be earlier if he's not in charge yet perse
I feel like moon/tides together don't have an issue (moon could be may-june, and tides July-Nov) but the huff stuff just needs to be adjusted
going off the dates, that's what I wrote up. def can be wrong
idgaf about bats
in terms of timeline
the twins are running around doing who knows what
with the actual events, that's the best i can fit them
most of BATS I don't care abt, it's mostly the collapse of the AHA due to huff's death that matters to me
yeah
like, that does make it frustrating to figure out how things fit together since huff's death is what allows chary to rise to power but it doesn't feel like we really have a long enough time for that and the moon trilogy to happen
i suspect chary was already doing stuff before huffs death
only suspect since he came with winter solstice
idk, it's the sort of thing where they just need to come out and give more dates
mhm
Does he really need a mask?
yeah. i hope they drop in a lorebook, bring back the louisiana event book, but add in events and everything else, then add researcher notes and whatever else
but at the same time, retcon/change dates to make sense
i do think chary was active prior to huff's death
just as finch was in the aha and the area before he joined the docs
If Huff is dead in May why would his son write a letter to a dead man
Anyway you slice it Huff was alive in June 1895
Is there a way we could make a map of the corruption zone at least in Louisiana?
Like, we know the zone is north of the zone but also had some oddities such as civil war junk and rocky hills.
damn, 1895 was a packed year
I never noticed this before but the Polar star has something in Russian written on the cylinder and a map on the stock. Does anyone know what it says in Russian and what the map is?
Most of the geography is fictional. Like desalle is way too rocky/mountainous and stuff like the coal mining or rock quarries just aren't stuff that's in the deep south of Louisiana
Google says it’s Königsberg
arkansas 🥺
Yeah, it starts getting rockier, with more bluffs along the major rivers in northern Arkansas…I don’t think you see anything closer to DeSalle until much farther north, like Illinois
Oh well
So it's up near the Ozarks?
I remember discussions about it when Desalle was introduced… there’s a parish “LaSalle” in LA, but the terrain doesnt really match, and there’s a 17th French explorer, “Cavelier de La Salle”, who surveyed the Mississippi river… so maybe it’s somewhere up the mississippi? It probably doesn’t reference any real place.
Maybe it’s just supposed to help transition us, for when the next Rocky map comes out
The devs have stated outright during the live stream where they introduced DeSalle that it’s not really like anywhere in Louisiana they were just experimenting with a new type of map that was more mountainous.
It’s actually a perfect example of how we as fans can often overthink our theories about the game and see symbolism and significance where there is none.
I personally remember reading up about architectural styles and geography to try to get a figure on where DeSalle could be located…
And the devs then just flst out say they wanted to play around with creating a map with an old west feel but weren’t ready to leave Louisiana yet. So despite being set in a mountainous region this is still supposed to be Louisiana
It's the mountains of Louisiana.
Right, i said it probably doesn’t reference any real place, and is just a transition to a different type of Rocky, Mountainous terrain…..
It seems like many of the players only comprehend the game as “Cowboy stuff…you know, Gun, Hat..”
And Crytek willl cater to that paying wild west crowd more and more, because those players don’t respond as well to the Southern Gothic/ Victorian horror stuff, which is too bad
God i hope they don't cater to much. I love the southern gothic feel. If they are going to move however, midwest goth would be a nice step in direction.
Honestly the misconception that hunt is supposed to be more western as opposed to more southern gothic is frustrating
Like I enjoy the mix of western archetype characters alongside the more occult for sure but when people go “they’re forgetting their cowboy game roots” it’s so 🙄🙄🙄
Hunt takes place in an era cowboys weren't really a thing anymore- esp in the south. Out in the actual west, yeah you'd still have em, but they weren't needed anymore (barb wire replaced em). I love the gothic feel of hunt. If Rockstar made a red dead open world supernatural game where you hunt and kill monsters same as hunt (with pvp, obv), I'd lose my mind. give me southern gothic witcher.
but yeah, I get that the folks on the covers are "cowboys" but a lot of the OG art starred doc john too
bone doc*
especially with this new map apparently being more north, we may be forced to go into a different gothic
it's so hard to find good shooter games set during the 1890s, but i liked this one so much just cause of a unique location. Beside from red dead, when are you ever fighting in the gulf coast?
never!
yarp
i'd be hype to see a northeast break map with a big city too
we know there was an aha post in NYC
Apparently there was a full blown incident in New York iirc
But it was contained I believe
witch hunter was part of it
dont recall much besides the AHA post was wiped out and she came here
I would actually fucking hate to fight in New York City. Too many windows, too many tight spaces…
He in the window What window that window which damm window
Exactly
Unless they do something like L4D2 and board off a bunch of rooms and windows to make a small map
I'd love a city map, larger version of Desalle but not as open building wise, agreed on the window stuff being annoying
I’ve been making a list of factions in Hunt both in game and in lore there any I’m missing?
For a second I thought you said "which hunter?" And I was about to say "Maybe Candice and Jack, the detectives."
But yeah Witch hunter being a part of that lil' incident makes sense since she's from New England(?) iirc
Or maybe Salem Massachusetts would make more sense
But I thought I read somewhere she was from New England
There is also just the Voodoo community (Doc John, Weird Sister, etc). They have been assigned the Pacts (which kind of more so lean me in the direction of thinking the Pacts are more a game mechanic than anything else).
If the Pacts aren't Canonical We have a few factions of Former AHA, AHA Seperatists, Voodoo Community, The Lawmen (Hardin and his brood).
Then there are the minor 'factions'.
The easterners, don't know if they have a 'name' but their defining trait is being Asian. (Ronin and them)
The Frisk Siblings (Lonely Howl (Leonel), Remis, and their sister who I can't find the name of).
You've got the Dockhands.
Perchta Frau (Dusk and Dawn.)
amongst others.
But for the real factions I think we've got far fewer actual numbers. Mostly (lorewise) seems like random scattered bands fighting to earn a name and/or bring order to the Bayou. EDIT: and members of said bands shift as power shifts and collapse.
I hope we get pacts passed on the already establish factions someday, I like the pacts but I feel their can be too many new ones and they just blur together, I’d love to see what kind of powers or values the Voodoo pact would have or if possible a First Nations pact but I already have a theory their just the grounded pact
Any youtubers that do videos about the lore you recommend?
Hazmatt, great editing and really good a laying out the stories in hunt
See I think that's kind of the thing. The Pacts are just temporary truces amidst the various new things The Sculptor throws at the Bayou.
Big fire comes in and start giving people the power of some of the boss monsters? Better get the Fire resistant guy who can imbue that power to you on your side.
Need to make sure someone is dead and stays dead? Better get the guys who can see the dead through walls to keep em down.
The pacts are lore friendly but I doubt they're factions in their own right. Enemy of my Enemy is my friend type of stuff. That's why someone like Claeg who is KNOWN to only feel human when someone elses blood is on him otherwise he's a savage monster can stand side by side with the Weird Sister who is by lore a Voodoo healer. These two are drastically different and otherwise would never work together but they both have something to gain from the pact so yea...
I would also prefer an event to just have the AHA, Seperatists, Lawmen, etc as pacts though. But meh don't really know what perks the Lawmen could give xD
I’ve never thought of the pacts that way, I just thought they were just factions but that makes sense because of the infernal pact and the grounded pact sticking together during the desolation event.
Yep. Demented is an actual problem as they're hunters falling to The Sculptor and his influence. So the others put aside their differences to fight back. Cause NO ONE (with a clear mind) wants The Sculptor to have more power.
Which includes beast hunter, me and my friends don’t get the beast hunter on why he joined the demented pact. We all thought he wanted to just take the hellhounds but Monroe and came I can get
Yea... Beast Hunter is an enigma... the best I can figure is it's about the hounds... but maybe there is something more to him than meets the eye.
Also I need to ammend myself it wasn't weird sister in Death Pact... it was Deaths Herald. She and Claeg work a little better together... but still Claeg working with ANYONE is shocking... he's kind of... messed up.
I think when it come to Claeg I think he has something in him that just takes control of him with him knowing either something mental or something spiritual either way I think when I went with the death pact it was to find answers to what was controlling him and making him forget and kill or maybe he wanted to close deaths door because he felt he deserved death for killing his friend
Yea. Wish we had a little more lore about individual hunters. But we have SO MANY at this point it's impossible to flesh them all out.
I agree! Just for the next event give us more lore bits about the hunters, I wanna know what killbuyers favourite food, I wanna know what sheriff Hardin does in his off time, hell I wanna see a journal entry from Monroe and see how crazy he really is lol
Now that I think of it, it’s probably better to keep us in the dark about some of the hunters, because I still wanna make theories about the hunters and they may or may not do
Yea. Too much information is a problem just as too little haha. It rides that line as it is so I dunno which way i'd prefer to fall so keeping it as is, is perfectly fine.
City names
Wait a bit, I'll mark it
Hello, I don't understand what the community means when she talk about things that are canon or not
@rotund ferry Новая земля - New Zemlya - New Land is an island, not a city
It's marked as 3
Also waterway here wasn't a thing at the time
But still the trip doesnt really make sense
You can read about irl Brusilov Expedition on wikipedia, but it was too different and the guy has a different name https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brusilov_expedition
The Brusilov expedition (Russian: Экспедиция Брусилова) was a Russian maritime expedition to the Arctic led by Captain Georgy Brusilov, which set out in 1912 to explore and map a route from the Atlantic Ocean to the Pacific via a northeast passage known as the Northern Sea Route. The expedition was ill-planned and ill-executed by Brusilov, and d...
It's probably just an astronomy reference
I don't know any constellations like this
Well, Ursa constellations kinda look like that, but they are different
@warm quartz thank you for all the information you provided! 🙏
I'll have to read it over when I have some time
New blog post that gives some more details abt the drowned rat/kid
Nothing super new but a nice summary on them
This summary was nice
The most interesting part and the part I’m surprised nobody pointed out is the fact we got confirmation the alters being created in tide of shadows story is made by the demented pact
Like the one the rat was put on
Yeah the implication was there (the guy who was leading them was implied to be the butcher’s cleaver) but it’s nice seeing hard confirmation
We love confirmation
I wonder what the rat was doing before the kid died since there was a like four month time span between her death and turner’s
I guess the land of the dead’s relationship to time is weird so like
Might not have been too long there
Wonder why Turner was investigating her death
I feel like he was investigating the altars and stuff
They knew eachother somewhat already
Like she was killed on one but also they were just set up everywhere
But yeah they could have been friendly too
They were both in the traitors moon event as the “event” hunters
I know there wasn’t like established story back then
They were on opposing sides of DM based on bundles (she was I think infernal pact and he was lunar pact)
I don’t think either were in a pact
There were pact bundles
And the grounded pact trailer from DM had all of the hunters that were in the grounded bundle in it, so presumably the bundles all tied to allegiances in lore
Yeah
