I wonder if they retconned it to be able to work in the infection spreading with the next map
To a new state 🧐
Why bother a "theoretical timeline" when its clear no such thing exists. We dont even have a "theoretical narrative". Multiple years have passed in game codified by seasonal lore events.
You can't disprove supposition. its simply supposition. Hunters time travel through portals all the time.
Prove it wrong!
But im sure your cat GIF's are high wit from wherever you hang out haha
I'm not even reading what you're talking about I was just making a joke
Thats the problem.
Come into a conversation, dont read it, then babble cat GIF's
off-topic is thataaway
He’s just a douche man
He’s always complaining about lore for whatever reason, best to ignore him
He slways topic about the topic of the channel, hot tedious. What exactly do you do here besides whine because you dont understand the conversations haha
Stay on topic or move the conversation.

So, what's your favourite hunter lore wise?
I'm not updated on every hunter lore, but i guess mine are the Redneck and Marshall Brewer
solid tie between worm bite and the infected. both of whom we have no solid lore on, which is unfortunate
There's something more about them other than the lore they come with when you recruit them?
certain hunters are mentioned in the book of weapons sometimes
I love Hardin and his story. And I second Tib on the Infected - I would love to know more about him.
Hardin throwing orphans at the corruption is so vile and desperate that I can't help but love it
good question I guess mine is Frau Perchta
Prodigal daughter is great too
she has a classic revenge story
I really like Russel Chambers and John Victor but if you just meant legendary hunters then it would be Lulu, l kinda have a weakspot for lesbians
Harold Black is probably my favorite hunter, lore wise at least.
I like Felis and Lonely Wolf, love me some feral beasts hiding as humans. Scarimgagiagisjdfh is cool too, his three faced mask is interesting.
Oh wait based on lore! lol. I liked the stuff on Reptilian- there was something almost... amusing? about him going around killing gators trying to summon a boss. Could see his gf telling him "that's not how it works babe!" and then him just gesturing wildly when rotjaw shows up, not realizing there is no connection. The whole Wolf clan + Pertcha is cool too. I have a strong preference to her Dawn form, could never get past the big ass forehead she has as Dusk
lulu because god I love insane women
lulu & sofia's story of them just going on a murder spree in the bayou (and seducing nuns) is just peak
You mean Scaramuccia
?
yeah lol, I was close!
My crew and I have never called him by his actual name, it's always Scarahooch or Scarcooch for us, but when typing we know who we mean when it starts with Scar and ends with a keyboard smash lol. Still. His model is cool
Anesthetics wise, Luna Wolf, La larona (forgive me), Professor and Plague Doctor and The Rat.
Lore wise Harold black, archeologist (elssie?) And the occultist types
Plague doctor,bone doctor, Night seer.
They know whats going on.
I really don't like the Hunter through vengeance alone can be competent functional killers in the Bayou.
Just some extra info about the Scaramuccia figure:
Scaramouche (French: [skaʁamuʃ]) or Scaramouch (English: ; from Italian Scaramuccia [skaraˈmuttʃa], literally "little skirmisher") is a stock clown character of the 16th-century commedia dell'arte (comic theatrical arts of Italian literature). The role combined characteristics of the Zanni (servant) and the Capitano (masked henchman), with some ...
Ooo. I hadn't looked much into him, he and the Phantom are buddies in my DnD game and I like his mask. Thats cool!
He's just a goblin, I love it
It's implied he's physically deformed and abused.
Like The Geek in that dark as fuck movies
Aaannd now I have Bohemian Rhapsody stuck in my head lol
If Ronin's backstory included a little bit of involvement with Kabuki Noh theatre given his hannya mask, that would be the perfect setup for a Bayou theater troupe
Now i want a Hunt montage with Bohemian Rhapsody in the background
And it's stuck in my head too
thanks
Could poke Crytek to get licensing rights and have Port Sulphur band do a cover wink, wink, nudge nudge 😁

It would be neat to hear them cover a few songs if they had the resources to do so. There's a couple Florence + the Machine songs I'd love to hear in their style
But can he do the fandango?
Of course he can dance
Now i kinda want to do a list of all the legendary hunters and what song could be paired to them
I started doing this for a couple. 'What the water gave me' by Florence + the Machine for Gar, 'Shine on you crazy diamond' for False Saint. And now I can't help but hear Bohemian Rhapsody when thinking of Scara. You'll have to post if you think of some!
lol I did a drinking battle with Drink with the Dead for the Revenant vs my crew
Ooooh the one from Ghoultown?
yarp
I'll think of something!
heard it and went, man, we're gonna need to do a drinking battle now
I used Under a Phantom Moon for similar purpose
the moon will sing by the crane wives is a big kevin song imo
House of the Rising Sun is a song about Hunt if you take gambling as a metaphor for being a hunter
Gambling your life
sofia by clario is a very fitting song for lulu because it's about being a lesbian and in love with your girlfriend named sofia
😂
(I was making a lulu playlist on spotify and saw that and went "ah yes. this is The Song for her")
I'll have to check out the Crane Wives now! Fire For You by Cannons was another I thought of for him, got that 'maybe I resent all of this' hc vibes
they're seriously fantastic! there's a joke that songs from florence + the machine, hozier, mother mother, and the crane wives appear on every single fandom playlist
they're just so moody and capture the blorbo mood perfectly 😂
There needs to be a bingo card for songs on every fandom playlist with 'Take Me to Church' smack dab in the middle
So basicalli the Redshirt
Take me to church fits hunt but that’s because I call every church (except first testimonial) snurch (snail church) and sing take me to snurch, snail church, it’s the church that you go as a snail
Blues Saraceno - The Bible or the Gun - Album 2013 - Dark Country 2
For the more religious hunters
Every convo with my friends when picking the next compound is either 'snurch' or 'I need some jesus in my life rn'
iconic
Paralyzed by the Legendary Stardust Cowboy is perfect chaotic neutral vibes for the Redneck
Lost Dog Street Band tends to have a lot of weary old cowboy vibe songs
this song I use as the start of my overall hunt playlist https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r1PXwvOo-Ic

Redneck lore be like: the man is either too stubborn or too stupid to die
Meanwhile the rat: my team left me to die 👿
Is this accurate because this is what I got from reading lore 🤣
Or if someone has more insight on the rat I’d love to hear it

Although many have attributed "O Death" to Baptist preacher, Lloyd Chandler, printed evidence of the song has been found in Britain dating to the 17th century. Besides Chandler, contemporary versions have also been recorded by Berzilla Wallin, Nimrod Workman, Dock Boggs, and Ralph Stanley.

Seen "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"?
Well, she is the daughter of Tuco aka Ugly aka the Rat in original italian
no sadly
Well it's only the best film ever made so no worries
Did we ever find out what the gold thing was in the water in the Tide of Shadows chapters?
was it the bug relic?
Not 100% sure it is, but I'm guessing it's related to what's in the chest in the new Tidal Murmurs video
The way it whispers in the video really makes it seem like it is the bug relic, but iirc no one described the relic as being gold in color

Golden bug relic... scarab? They are usually gold- be interesting if we get some Egyptian stuff
Cardinal Rain describes it like the papery wasp material that's all over the Bayou. If I was to guess it's likely a piece of The Sculptor itself so it now has a physical presence on Earth. It was also described as looking like a pupae. So I'm betting will develop into an Avatar for The Sculptor or a means to allow one to enter earth. It's obviously of The Sculptor (it's corruption and influence described in the exact same terminology). I assume Rotjaw was needed as a vessel due to its connection to the Bayou? Story is such a mess I'm not sure the artifact was still inside.Rotjaw when she came back to earth?
Chary I believe thinks the artifact is still inside Rotjaw? No idea, I assume Chary wants it to control or destroy The Sculptor. But it simply doing what The Sculptor wants (bring it to earth).
Oh read this wrong. Would be odd to get a golden scarab relic* like that into Hunt, not sure it would fit the vibes. disregard lol.
I still think we will be getting some kind of insect roaming boss- one that digs, kinda like how RJ vanishes into the water... could be the cocoon of that? Chary seems pretty hell bent on creating his own monsters
I wonder if the next event will focus on the cargo of the delphine
I'd be surprised if it didn't. we wrapped up the delphine and rj stuff, figure it'll move to them fighting over the relic, unless it is some kind of cocoon/egg, then perhaps each side trying to influence it's development?
yeah hopefully
assuming reptilian is still snuggling with RJ and thus primal goes away, could see some aspect of Chary and the wolves- be inclined to think they will be a bigger roll wih all the wolf/dog stuff we've been getting
Fair, until we get a WW boss? I'd really be shocked if we never got something WW-y, even if not a true ww
leading into the next trilogy where they'll likely take more of a prominent role (if the theory of the next wild target being some sort of a werewolf themed one is correct)
yup!!
Valid. What would be a wild wild card weather add on would be a fog map, but where you see figures in the fog that whisper at you
Tide of Whispers and all
oh is that what it's called??
wait scratch that
idk, brain is working overdrive rn and merging multiple convos together
i dont think we have a name yet
but, would still be a dope map- fog that ebbs and flows, clears up and thickens, and has little figures that roam around in it whispering
a drought weather effect where the underbrush is thinned out and the water's gone down far would be sick
I love the idea of things moving around, rain and inferno both played with sound (and visuals, but mostly obscuring) so having something to distract w movement is a neat idea
Bonus if the delphine ghost ship shows up in the water and blows it's horn
chuh. I wonder if they'll do a tide of blood, and change the rain to blood
hue everything reddish/brown
IDK what the turnaround time is for the bosses from creation to deployment, next dev map update would give a better idea of what is coming
I feel like the wild targets might have a faster turnaround time since they don't have to make all of the map assets and stuff
true, and I suspect the same, but I'm not a game creator and could be equally hard to make a boss that can be almost anywhere on the map
but i doubt we will get another roamer with the next event... maybe the last Tide
yeah I think it will be earliest next event trilogy
If this event is about the relic and if i'm right that it's a cocoon/egg that we will be fighting, then I could see that being the new boss on the last tide
next event trilogy will likely focus on the new map tho thinking abt things
or yeah, next trilogy
I'm interested in what the wolf pack wants w chary
they had been grounded aligned in devil's moon so they're not like as anti-chary as a lunar pact member would have been
true. Mama wolf was just trying to get her pup to come home the whole time
mom and dad!
girlboss showdown
I really love the way hunt treats its female characters
like both female characters and also lgbtq characters... it's the media I wish to see
man, the server blocker thing really hates me. i have no clue what in that sentence I just typed was bad. i'll toss it in the other server, hold on
but yeah, i like that too
and there is equal love for them all. the bringing back the focus on the older characters brings me hope we will see new lore and stuff built on them as well
I really hope they find a better way to provide lore to characters beyond the book of weapons
or hell like, even just giving more weapon progression
more stories to unlock and whatnot
Yup. that's the deadest horse we have in here lol
collectively ground that sucker into mush beating it so hard
call me Kill Buyer for all the dead horses I be beating
truly lmaooooooo

I love the queer/feminist history of cowboys so much I'm so glad we're seeing it in hunt
ESPECIALLY all of the indigenous "cowboys" we have in the game being relative and true to the time period!
Yes!!!!
It’s really exciting to me having a game like this that makes an effort to include such diversity, while also not being afraid to make characters like
Fucking awful people
Like lulu is not some idealized softgirl lesbian…. Her and Sofia are like literally serial killers lmao
EXACTLY and the way the small amount of backstory we have on Lulu fits into the time period so well I love them both sm
Yes!! It’s how I feel about the mountain man too. I saw some weirdos complaining abt how they’re “forcing” it and it makes no sense. But like…
Man moves into the mountains to abandon society is like a Peak Gay Trope
LITERALLY THIS
- sincerely a gay person who's boyfriend wants to move north into the mountains (he was the one that got me into this game)
Also, Iron Bark canon they/them? Please tell me I'm not the only one that noticed that
Yeah!!!! Really exciting!
Yes very!
Guh, that gives me chills. Hearing some ghostly fog horn in the distance as the fog thickens and you begin to see shadow creatures flittering in and out of it. Real Silent Hill shit right there.
I hope the devs expand on their lore to explain their integration into the Hunt. How did they learn to use guns? If WW boss is a future boss, are they involved and how? Still holding out hope it's the wolf family that brings them into their pack and shows them the ropes.
Speaking of the wolves ARE WE SURE REMUS IS REALLY LEONEL'S DAD? cuz I've always thought that Remus was another blood relative of Felicia/Leonel's father because it's implied that Leo kills his dad in his pax claw description so I'm not sure
I think leonel attempted to kill him but was ultimately unsuccessful
It is confirmed in Lonely Howl's DLC description
But in spite of besting the forest’s alpha, he could not best his father, and so Frisk disappeared in the night, taking only his father’s Caldwell and a Hunting Bow. His bloodlust led him to Louisiana, where he continued hunting, ignorant of the shadows tracking his every move; shadows Hunters in the Bayou would later come to know as Dire Wolf and Luna Wolf; shadows he had once called mother and father. Like a lone wolf, he listened to his instincts and left one pack for another, forgetting his human nature and his father’s words: “A wolf that leaves its pack becomes a threat.
Yeah haha, another gripe we collectively have in the lore channel: why hide a lot of lore in the DLC descriptions and post it no where else??
cries in console player who never sees the description
Wait I'm totally missing lore for my favorite legendaries now what
Thank you for sharing this revelation I must add more to the archive of lore in my head
THIS IS WHY WE NEED A LORE BOOK
shoves mushed horse into blender
these poor console lore less vagabonds out here missing out on stuff!!!
shoves pureed dead horse into mulcher
Ugh. Come on crytek. Give us a lore book that gives info on the hunters and such. Make it available to all.
I wouldn't mind if they added a 4th book for just event lore, I missed the serpent and traitor moon event so I have no idea what they were about unless I wanna look them up
Hunt handles lesbian and homosexual characters better than other media I've seen
They don't shove it in your face, they make it aware that it's there but don't make it the center point of the character
In my opinion that type of subtle representation is great because everyone is happy
I hope they elaborate on Mountain man's story soon
Good day all, I am from South Africa and really, really, REALLY want Leander Coetzee as a legendary hunter (Vetterli 71 BIO). A hunter with some dark Khakis that can blend into the bush. There is already a great back story for him, PLEASE DEVS
Stories like this as well as redneck make me wonder if the lack of belief in the supernatural slows down the infection too. The man stayed 4 days in the bayou without being infected. Same for redneck who is known for being ungodly resilient to the sculptor's influence
Perhaps disbelief or ignorance works as a sort of barrier that has to be broken down
Staying in the bayou for 4 days seems like a rather long time to me for one who hasn't been inoculated
Who is Leander Coetzee and what does he have to do with South Africa?
Is it like Ned Kelly and Australia?
@molten forge Think it's just a genetic thing. There does appear to be a non-physical component (obviously since magic and protect you).
I am so glad you brought up this character! I never sat and read the lore attached to the vetterli (my favorite weapon) for whatever reason. The fact he's directly connected to the story of Victor Caldwell's massacre is awesome. He definitely needs more recognition.
Leander is a Boer, that moved to Louisiana to earn a living and separate himself from his past due to his experiences in the 1st Boer War. Would pair really well with a redcoat legendary as well.
That is an interesting take... we KNOW that placebo effect is a real thing, so could be similar? If you just saw a woman with her ribs exposed and went nah man, I'm just seeing things and thus went about your day, could be a way to stay uninfected. I also figure not getting near the monsters- staying at range and thus away from infection stuff- would help too, so if you have no interest in going to see the woman up close, you're less likely to get banged up and thus infected...
Reminds me of Bridgewater's story as well
Gonna be a common theme for those partaking in a far away task that will almost certainly result in their death.
No many with a happy home life are gonna show up for the gig.
Essentially skepticism working as a form of barrier. It's not foolproof, but it could slow down the progression. Though this take is pretty much entirely unsubstantiated, with only two stories having anything that could refer to it.
yeah. I'd be curious to see if we get more about it eventually... while I agree there are those that are naturally more immune to it, I'm sure there are also those who manage to just nope their way outta a full infection.... tho I wont be shocked if homeboy dopesnt have some side effects
If he showed side effects it'd be likely that they wouldn't let him go, or at the very least monitored him
Eh, he kinda just came in and went NOPE and left, didn't sound like he really got up with the AHA or anything.
So doubt they would have gotten a chance to really stop him
I am interested to see if this is just a fluff lore chunk to show some of the folks who come to the region arent cut out to be hunters or if it's leading into the infection spreading because of him...
take a note on how the guy in the trailer says he's a servant of sculptor. Not a guy who uses sculptor for his own gains, aka Chary, but a literal SERVANT of his
I wonder if he declared himself as the servant, or the sculptor chose him
Maaaan! A new cult! Can´t be more excited about it!
either way we have a new force in the bayou
but I hope they don't say too much about the sculptor itself, because part of their charm is the mystery surrounding it

What even is a "magic system"? It's a word that gets tossed around a lot in the fantasy-writing and worldbuilding communities. It cert...
just like this video puts it
the more explaination you have behind something, the less unnatural it feels
Yea, there needs to be a certain mysterie about it
It’s cool to finally see a hunter or faction that just fully worships the sculptor and wants to enact its interpreted will
I’m hoping this ties into the next event, it would be interesting to see a whole sculptor cult
The two teaser trailers for Tide of Shadows were 'Beware the Tide' and 'Stirring Shadows'. So if the naming scheme stays roughly the same then the two teaser videos so far (Tidal Murmurs, and Whispers of Corruption) should be hinting at the next event
Murmurs of corruption
tide of corruption as an event name makes sense to me
I'm guessing it'll prob run from oct through early december
I still think that random civilian's encounter with Assassin is the funniest thing in hunt lore
Smart decision not to get involved
So the dude teased is obviously butcher themed, thoughts on a full boss cycle of hunters? We already have rotjaw more than covered
Would love to see some insect related hunter! Someone who was letting themselves transform into an amalgamation of assassin and hive. Play on the idea of letting their body become a nest of sorts
a scrapbeak one would be really sick
could be a way for them to bring back some of the weapon skins from scrapbeak's event (or recolors at the very least)
That could also be a potential way to bring back Plague Doctor. A lot of people are begging for them to be brought back in a future event
There was an art piece someone did in fan art of a scrapbeak themed hunter
Let me see if I can find it
This would be cool to have
ohh intersting the voice actor from the trailer dropped a name for the hunter
the hunter's name is straight up "The Butcher" so probably a guy who's taken the name of the target he worships https://twitter.com/JoeySourlisVo/status/1699123544620249469
WE... ARE THE TRUE SERVANTS OF IT'S WHISPERS!"
Check me out as The Butcher in the newest teaser for Hunt: Showdown!!
Thank you so much @GLedouxVoiceovr for bringing me on- this guy was so much fun to play.
HE'S SO GROSS UGH lol
He might be affiliated with the night of the hunter cult
maybe? equal possibility that he's just a whole new faction
there'll likely be a "corruption" pact or something like that in the new event that he'll be the pact leader for
The way I read it, the Night of the Hunter sees the blood of the Sculptor's creatures as a source for protection and redemption, whereas this new character looks down upon the Sculptor's creations and considers them inferior
A new faction would be cool but I believe they, the writers, should elaborate of the factions we have
Interesting so maybe he isn't affiliated
That could be a way to tie in Night of the Hunter in the next event, so it's exploration of new and old cults
I'd like them to elaborate on factions we already have, but these pacts don't seem like larger scale factions like the night of the hunter and stuff and more of smaller scale sorts of things
like primal seemed very loose and was mostly just the gar
Tbf I'm more of a Grounded aligned kinda guy, wanting to protect this green earth is always a noble cause so I say the Night of the hunter can take their doomsday cult nihilism and stuff it!
⚖️
🗣️🗣️we bringing back the Hawaiian Kaua'i'ō'ō bird with our efforts!
I would just like to see my son again (kevin)
Lunar pact seems friendly but I don't exactly trust putting faith into the Moon
Her intentions feel unclear
tbh her intentions were probably just "oh my god this man is killing me. you, child, stop him" 😂
I wonder if the new Cult has anything to do with the Witch cult we saw in the Hunt: Horrors of the Guilded Age Early Access
I feel like the moon itself doesn't have intentions perse, outside of self preservation. It's more like, she's a source of power and how that power is used is up to the person harnessing it
I still can't tell if Chary was the one harnessing power from the moon or if the Sculptor was
Kevin's parents tell him there are more threats beyond 'that man' (aka Chary) so I'm assuming multiple people and entities are using the Moon's powers for nefarious reasons
And I'd go one step further with you mentioning how her intentions feel unclear: like the saying 'as above so below, and as below so above' the only reasons her intentions may seem ambiguous is because the use of her powers by nefarious characters like Chary and the Sculptor is corrupting her in return
The Butcher hunter sounds like he canonically has a New York City Accent- so for him, it’s accurate to say that it’s not always about the bounty but it’s about… THE METS BABYS WOO YEAH LETS GO BABY HIT A HOME RUN HE LOVES THE METS
But if he thinks the sculptor’s creations are inferior, I wonder if this will be the excuse to introduce more grunts/people will modify grunts/monsters before releasing them into the bayou- affecting lore and gameplay
What’s interesting to me is it sounds like two people based on accents
Like the first part sounds like a more southern accent
this is that group of folks who are making a fan made live action! THey turned this hunter into an irl hunter
I'm curious if we are getting one cult that worships all the bosses and thus several boss themed hunters, or several cults (ideally broken off the Night Hunter OG cult that "worshipped" the bosses unless that got retconned too), all lead by different boss themed hunters
Will say I am concerned that this is a HARD turn from the ToS event, worried we wont get the end cap on Gar/Lynch/etc (I still think gar is enola)
From general chat
Someone here become the Vaatividya of Hunt showdown, we need a lore yt channel for Hunt xD
It's a good concept
one of the best concept hunters I've seen
that would be our good friend @upbeat kiln
I think with the video description being "Why Death has chosen us to come back to life, we don't know, but we are disgusted by its uncertain hand. We want answers. We demand punishment" this will be continuing to iterate on the whole people opening up the gates to the land of the dead lore
I don't think it'll focus on the gar and stuff but I think enola will come into play, potentially lynch as well
it's possible that these cultist hunters died to the bosses and have come back now to worship them?
that would be neat
be interesting... my buddy has a wonderful idea regarding the new hunters (if they ARE all boss themed...)
we are gonna get Hunt Showdown Spiderman
But also... the next map, what if it's IN the land of the dead?
like the event culminates with us opening a gateway into the realm, and then the next event is trying to close that sucker back up or picking a new fight with what's inside?
Ik it's pretty random but my first thought from the teaser was like a hunter for the hunter. Someone who gets thrown in the same place as the other hunters but with the only goal being to kinda kill every hunter there. I am not completely sure if that makes sense so ye.
Saw some stuff about this being a new boss, not a new hunter. IDK how I feel about that, I like that our bosses are more than just a dude rocking around in the swampmkilling folks- cause that's what we all are. But it would be neat to get a roamer that takes advantage of the small houses and such on the maps. I still think he'll end up being the "Kevin", the hunter at the end of the event
So same as every other hunter in the bayo
i hope you don't mind me asking, but who is Enola?
Sculpted again will, clones, no free will? Likely it will be something like that, no choice.
The tale of Rotjaw.

Having just received Rotjaw as a new boss i doubt there will be a new one so soon honestly
Thanks for sharing that @grave minnow ! Enola is rotjaw/princess's bff, and as I still suspect, has some link to gar. It's my opinion and not shared with all, but there's a lot of similarities between the two.
And yeah, I agree, I doubt there would be a new one so fast. I think it's a hunter
I agree with similarities between Enola and Gar, only time will tell
Yeah. I do hope they confirm or deny and don't leave it up to interpretation. Shall see tho. I get the feeling with the two vids we may have an a/b story going on... Could see lynch and chary duking it out over the relic while a new pact, based off the boss demons and worshipping the sculptor come up as new contenders.
I do really hope they don't ever make a boss just a dude- i know Screechy is a dude under it all, but he's been twisted into a monster. Bosses should hopefully stay supernatural beasties.
Well technically they are all just a dude
Except RotJaw
And well, the spider is multiple dudes
Fuck knows what the butcher really was.... maybe a gaint.
Butcher was a meathead
And meathead are just big babies
kinda
The meathead lore is pretty...mh... loreish
The hive's lore messes me up for similar reasons
Body horror related to pregnancy is a big no-go for me
The factions found within the Louisiana hunting grounds were many and varied - but what was their motivation, purpose, and end goal for venturing into the bayous at all?
We will dive into that today.

I have watched this video and went through every legendary hunter and tried to place them into the said factions. It seems most hunters fall into the sinners factions which to me is not a real faction and really just each to his own type thing.
Here is a list
I did something similar for my Dnd, but with slightly more factions, wolf clan, "outlaws" (which rather funnily, lined up really well with the gunrunner crew from ToS), and chary's loyalists. To be fair, the "OG" factions of NotH, Lawmen, and Voodoo have kinda faded out what with the pacts becoming a thing.
Originally, yeah, no argument there, but I'd say they are no longer just a dude. Scrappy is the closest to still having that ribbon, as his "powers" are a need to horde and the ability to pull concertina out of nowhere (I know he's got a pack on, and I assume he's why we see very little in the world concertina left around the civil war areas) but the rest have powers well past just a dude. So I'd be bummed if we got a "normal" human boss, who just really likes cosplaying the butcher
I'd be shocked if he wasn't a hunter- and I'd be super excited if he's like the viper- we get 4 versions, one per main boss
Yeah i know i was just being silly
I think this should be investigated further
Tf is a gaint
Giant HAHA
yeah I think it'll just be another hunter faction that worships the sculptor after being resurrected, or something like that. Corrupted hunters in a sense who are hunting down the bosses because they consider the bosses a mockery of the sculptor's power
! So the butcher is a skinned meathead, placed on a clay body and given a pig's head. He wears the apron of the man who made him (it hides the skinning cuts) and he's fireproof as the man who made him excelled in fireproofing skins. During a lightning storm he was brought to life, killing the taxidermist that made him. Now he is "property" of the sculptor, the demon residing inside fractured across the many instances in the swamps.
Ah, sorry, wrong tag. Will tag OG person asking @grave minnow butcher. unless that was sarcasm. then I'm just dum
It says relative of a meathead... but where does the meathead come from. Back to the point where @visual finch mentioned that basically all of the bosses was once human in one form or another, except Rotjaw
Meathead was a baby birthed from a huntress
I will have to go and sharpen up on my lore.... but either way still came from a human.
But the ritual that give every hunter the supernatural power they have, interfered A BIT with the pregnancy and well... The Meathed was born.
If we can consider hunters human, then yes, in my opinion.
Does anyone know the true extent of the supernatural ability that the hunters have?
Doubt it... with each pact we gain new skills/abilities, even if for a limited time. I'd say at a basic level, once innoced a hunter gains healing powers, a resistance to the plague, the ability to use dark sight and thus see rifts and the glow of the demons within the bosses, as well as be able to be revived from near death, even if for a limited number of times. Then you have "boons" from all kinds of places in the form of Traits, which can be traded via experience, tokens from the events, or found in the wild.
greatly increased durability too boot
Then you add bounty carriers, who can see (kinda) where others are, can revive indefinitely, etc...
So yeah, there kinda is an extent, as all hunters have the same base levels of skill before traits in terms of health and such, but the traits are what push those abilities further
true
I'd love if for Ap1st they made the wild trait obtainment movement wiggle fingers at trait to claim
They kinda got supernatural strength too, to a degree. Bashing a head with one blow of dusters is not a common task
(but not supernatural stamina
)
The head exploding isn’t likely, but tbh I think a decently strong regular person could kill a person w a punch to the face w knuckle dusters
I was watching a video earlier today abt how brass knuckles are incredibly deadly and was like, wow hunt showdown 😂😂
Necromancer is a pretty potent ability hunters can learn when you think about it, both for teams and solos
idk, putting your hands up and looking into another realm for a few seconds to catch a second wind sounds pretty supernatural to me.
True, but it has nothing to do with stamina
I was talking about Vigor which regens stamina pretty fast, but I see y'all talking about base ability. But even then, if I could regain my energy irl as quickly as hunters do I'd get a lot more done in a day
That's true
Yeah, I was just thinking about the base skills, with traits those skills get modified like crazy depending on what you do. Yeah, I'd reckon they have some degree of increased strength tho I agree with Smalls, dusters can mess a face up real good.
I wonder if the explanation could be like, as they go into the bayou more and more they get more touched by the supernatural/corruption/whatever you'd want to call it
so like, a basic tier 1 hunter might be stronger than the average guy but that might speak more to the people who want to go the the bayou
explanation for tratits?
yeah!
traits?*
ah. Dunno. I know they get messed uo the more they go in- that's why tier 3s look grungy and are covered in wounds/infection marks. But I figured that there was some other supernatural force at work leaving the traits behind. Not sure what the explanation of the ability to gain traits when out of combat is... maybe they have a room full of them akin to the traits available during an event for the pacts?
I think it could be a fun way of representing how you can't leave the bayou fully unchanged by the experience
But true, I'd think anyone who is capable of surviving the swamps prolly is a might stronger than the average
tho, also, to be fair, that was an era of harder work than most of us are used to today
true!
I kinda grouped the traits into "logical skills" and "Occult shit", we have legit learned skills like levering/fanning, and we have skills that are rooted in the supernatural... Its kinda odd that some of our legendaries come with the occult skills, so I assume that whenever we run them, it's not their first time in the swamps in order to have learned a trait that relies on darksight
but I'd love to see some lore on who we are offering our experience to in order to obtain the traits, as well as where they came from... unless I'm real dum and just missed that. Clearly the sculptor is one of the beings able to craft them, since meatheads can drop them.
But once again, meathead kinda descend from hunters
If you punch someone in the jaw with dusters, and you are relatively strong- you absolutely will shatter bone
Maybe traits are just a byproduct of the rituals that hunters undergo
Whether you’ll shatter your hand too is up to how strong your individual hand is and your technique
So, I don’t think the duster one tap is a sign of supernatural hunter strength
maybe
dunno. somehow they get out into the world, we can get them from meatheads, we can trade experience for them, and now you can trade pact offerings for them as well
be cool to get a little more look in on that
Also it is noted that other types of occult exist simultaneously to the corruption, that could explain traits as they come from other cultures
True. I figure the pacts have some kind of link in order to create the traits for them- dunno where the power comes from as it's not like they are sacrificing to anything in particular, at least in ToS- before I'd have said it's the moon and chary creating the traits, tho no clue about grounded
Could be something you can only see once you have the innoc? Opens you up to the influences of these other beings
This plus your comment on meatheads helps me at least make sense of trait charms. The charms you find look like mutated skulls which lead me to thinking they are remnants of skills, occult or otherwise, that deceased hunters left behind. That after a hunter dies the corruption or sculptor recreates those abilities into a physical manifestation using the hunter remains as a vessel. And it would explain @real dove your idea of Legendary hunters already having traits that may not coincide with their backgrounds (that they've already spent some time in the Bayou and maybe collected a couple trait charms already). Perhaps it's a 'circle of life' kind of thing, you take from the Bayou, and eventually will give back to the Bayou. But, then it turns into a chicken or the egg argument. and I agree it's still confusing how hunters gain abilities after successfully extracting and not having touched any trait charms.
It's funny to imagine a storage room in the back of the AHA building with rows and rows of trait charms on shelves. Guy selling them to Hunters in exchange for xp being like, "this here was a Mr. Henderson. Fastest at fanning I've ever seen. Clearly not fast enough."
True, have not considered this- that it's a left over of those who came before. I like that a lot
They could also just be regular old rituals like the banishment that are known to hunters
And the charms are just the components needed to complete the ritual
I would imagine that the AHA would have plenty of components for traits if their stores of firearms are anything to go off of
That is official Canon and why t3 hunters are rotting
I don't believe previously you could get traits in game when I started.
You are supernatural after being initiated into the AHA by default, stronger, faster, regen etx
They do its why many of the traits have animal totem type shit going on
And the presence of The Moon, snake God whose name i forget, Lynch
None of the monsters are directly created by The Sculptor. The rift allows all kinds of shit through and in general saturates the area with occult energy
Why can you hear a scream when rain starts?
Was part of the event. Rain by product of corruption I believe. Also random ambient noises
Could it somehow be that the rain is souls of the damned?
Don't see why not everything else is.
A scream? I just hear a boat- and maybe the sound of wind picking up is a scream but mainly a boat
Based on journal entries by the Navigator it's implied the ambient noises you hear in the rain are a mix of screaming souls and the Delphine
I hear scrapbeak wails as ambient environment transitions often
I swear occasionally other bounty beings
Lightning almost always has a roar/shout.
A boat? What noise is that?
Traits did represent their growing skills and power. Some are supernatural in nature some are likewise supernatural (you are superhuman) combined with experience knowledge. Other ones are enhancing occult skills. Serpent being the most obvious (hand gestures often chanting). Trait charms were added much later or were very rare. They represent supernatural totems in an area with dimensional rifts. Also why "bloodline " is the metric of your skills and power. Your bloodline from initiation is growing in potency. What do you get the most exp from? Killing bounties, banishing them to another dimension and stealing a shard of their power.
Also why acquiring the trait is also an occult act (gestures, chanting)
You sometimes here a creaking ship noise within the heavy rain
I think someone on Reddit posted a video where they had heard a ships horn during the rain, but I haven’t heard that one myself.
You can hear Rotjaw yell, a boat and people screaming
The boat is most likely the Delphine or, more specifically, whatever is inside of it.
And the people screaming are either the screams of the people in the land of the dead or the people killed on the Delphine
What are the most disturbing things in hunt showdown lore?
There is nothing disturbing in hunt lore (:
But if i had to suggest, that would be spider the boss, as amalgamation of multiple dead bodies; hives the bee zombie, mostly due to children of mother turned original hive were quite a bit traumatized, and if i remember some lore assumptions people who got corrupted are still in there, just not in control of bodies, so mother should, theoretically, be still conscious and she also was cloned, so now she is forever stuck in a rotting body of hers that is crawling with buggers, cursed to yearn for freedom of death, but only ever grasping it for a bit untill another clone body gets respawned
That's about it, i believe :)
Oh i see this is pretty family friendly game 😇
oh for sure. The meathead is the fetus/baby of a hunter who was pregnant when/after she was inoculated, we have folks doomed to an "eternity" of time spent split among clones of themselves, fully capable of feeling what is done to them, we have the Widow, who was tortured and murdered and rezzed by Chary... lots of friendly stuff.
Exactly, we have deadborn babies(arguably) given ability to walk, many people have been granted immortality without taking away their senses, and we have an actual resurrection miracle
Truly gifted children
I love how messed up this game's lore is
Hunt has described the joys of motherhood-
With no age floor 👁👁
I really do believe the Hive phenomenon is really one of the darkest portions of lore, as fleshed out part of the game one can literally read without presumption, that we have regarding Hunt
Like, genuinely- as I said before
Who the fuck explicitly writes this shit, why lmao it’s great don’t get me wrong they’re doing their job well to make the audience uncomfortable
I’m just saying, they are doing their job very well
So what's with the latest lore video about murmers from the shadows? Undead Hunters showing up to punish the corrupted?
Is this a new group trying to fight the sculptor, or are they threatening the AHA blaming the AHA for bringing them "back from the dead"?
Are these sentient grunts?
Are you talking about the one about the butcher hunter?
Or the one of the hunter looking real scared at a box?
I read an entry about a guy who got infected and was stuck in a cabin with other people. As he was turning into a grunt he didn't really feel any pain, he could pierce his leg with a knife and felt nothing. Eventually he saw living people as "wrong" and felt disgusted by those not corrupted.
So I don't know if that's the case for every grunt in the Bayou, but it does seem like they don't suffer in a physical sense as how I recall that part of info. Fire seems to be the only thing they truly feel.
I could be entirely wrong too ofc, I can't remember what that journal was though...
Hm. it did seems like the changes are not painful- the lady who became the first hive didn't seem to care at all
but under the grunt lore, there is noted tears to the muscle fibers- as if the original owner is fighting the control of the Sculptor
and that sounds agonising in the physical and mental aspect to me
tearing yourself apart trying to fight something you can never win against
so then i guess... are they grunts actually attacking us with the intent to kill, or as a form of suicide?
If it's the one with the dead Butcher it seems like they are trying to get the bosses to get better, that the current forms of Butcher etc... Are unworthy of serving the Sculptor, so they want them to become better. They seem to want the Sculptor to take over
but yeah, my understanding is that the process is not painful, going off the Hive lady
As I've understood that particular entry, and the Hive lore as you mentioned, and immolator entries, it doesn't seem like it is painful. I interpret it as they change mentally as well, they see humans as wrong and attempts to rectify it. To me it seems like they are in a sort of hazy state of mind due to the influence of the Sculptor.
Then again, it might not be everyones experience as a turned human. As like Redneck who was capable of resisting without any serum. Maybe some are in agony while others not.
True. But my understanding is that they are stuck inside their bodies- the last entry to the Grunt lore makes it sound that they, at least, are aware. The first immolator was born when a group of folks beat the crap out a preacher, who exploded into flame and killed them... so dude was already in a world of pain lol.
Speaking of serums, now that's one messed up lore entry if it's the one with Lynch's way of getting it
Oh yes, they are definitely stuck in their bodies without any real control
Which sounds absolutely hellish to me. Locked in syndrome, but someone else is forcing you to do their bidding... oof
Hunt definitely has some messed up stuff going on if you take any time to learn about the lore
Ya, I've seen people dog on it, but I like the lore a lot. Got a lot of cosmic horror elements to it, and I dig cosmic horror.
Some is left up to the interpretion, like how Scrapbeak's son actually managed to turn his dad into Scrapbeak.
Yarp. I get some folk's issues with the timeline and clarity, but I enjoy the "fill in the spaces" kinda lore we have.
The occult + body horror + gore + southern gothic combo is delicious. I wonder if the next event is in part going to see a stronger butcher and return of the fire maps
Yeah, I'd love to see stronger bosses. I get why they don't want that so not to encourage camping, but it'd still be neat.
I think the funniest story was the Vetterli dude who suddenly realized he was dining with a grunt xD
True, but the butcher is the easiest boss by a lot, so I'd be interested in seeing if they make him stronger
Or at least he thought it was a grunt
I like the most recent one about the dude coming down to Hunt and realizing naw dawg, that's not my jam as he munches on the Assassin's bugs
Haha, yes, that one was good
Be hilarious if we got an uppermat skin called "That's a No from Me"
"Hard Pass"
the gun he left behind
"No Thanks" lol
Spider boss was result of communal burial after i believe Huff experimented on them and tortured them, buried in bayou and became what they are. Only two of the Hive kids died. Others stunted psychologically but still human
@real dove she shrieked and shrieks I'm agony continually and certainly when her body was ripped apart from.the inside out....
The Butcher is an avatar from being from the land of the dead. All creatures that can be "banished" are
Most of the beings in the Bayou are by products of saturation of occult energy or the influence of the beings that can enter the world through the rifts.
Isn't the spider simply people ditched in a mass grave in the Bayou? I read the first mastery as they had died in the Bayou then someone buried them cuz they were looking for a party
Yeah, the spider is the merge of a bunch of corpses in a grave- Dr Reed was doing experiments on grunts, and after everything went sideways John Victor buried them together... and they became the spider.
See how wholesome hunt is?
Spider was created with quite literally no pain from the participants, they were already dead at the hands of mad scientists :)
Would be cool if a group of grunt were killed in the same spot, for them to actually merge together 👀
...actually.
Actually
You are so correct
One future events gotta entail ai manipulations for some ritual, like collecting multiple grunts into one house
Why go necromancer when you can go full bromancer
Otherwordly supernatural being makes grave pit of many people come back to life, with a small twist
#wholesome #epicprank
lol if i do a TPW for my hunt dnd group, guess what's gonna happen
"Okay so the Bone Doctor's Brother.... the Phone Doctor.... steps into the house his brother had died in and screams as a massive fleshy spider monsters drops from the roof, screeching. The thing's weight slams him to the floor, and he sees in horror that the beast wears the skull mask John had worn..."
but that would be neat
As soon as i read the name of brother, i've stopped reading
It was enough, i'm satisfied
lol
Let me guess, bone doctor died while trying to melee throwing knives a ten grunt mob?
In a heroic sacrifice?
Actually wait, it's not lore discussion, let's move to general
Yeah, into the chaos
So Dr Read wasn’t so much experimenting on grunts as much as he was trying to cure what he thought was some kind of plague outbreak. Only he caught the very “disease” he was trying yo cure and murdered, disemboweled, and cannibalized the rest of the survivors trapped with him and
Dr Read immediatly after:
But yes, basically that's it
Both the spider and the butcher are born from "let's try to experiment with this stuff"
I guess Scrappy too, but i don't remember precisely
Dr. Read cannot compare to Mr. Chary
Scrappy was turned into scrapbeak by his own son. His son said his dad brought the devil into his house, so he brought the devil back into him.
Is it Read or Reed? I thought it was the latter. But I hella dyslexic so prolly it. And I dunno, while Chary did make the widow, she's still a hunter and not a boss... Tho Reed wasn't setting out to make monsters (or be one) so yeah, Chary wins. Tho Lynch is pretty messed up too... I want a showdown between them SO BAD
It’s funny you misspelt ladder whilst talking about being dyslexic
Though I probably shouldn’t comment on it seeing as I am no better at spelling
Anyways does anyone have like a convenient link to a website or something with lots of information about the lore? Been wanting to know it in depth but y’know there’s obviously quite a bit
HazmatFTW does an awesome youtube channel of lore stuff
Sick thank you
the wiki is also really helpful bc it's compiled all of the lore. It's not the most convenient to search by topic, but all of weapons have their book of weapon entries, same w the monsters, so you can go through one by one if you really want to dig into it!
it also has event stories and stuff laid out which is nice
Nah dawg, latter, as in the latter thing, vs the former
that i spelled correctly
I thought saying the “ladder of something” was like as in
The ladder
This is news to me
Didn’t even know latter was a word
nope 🙂 but i can't normally spell so fair to you for not knowing lol
The trailer for the new dlc omg
Voice acting for the hunter!!!
It’s a cool way to start showing more abt these hunters, alongside the short in game blurbs and longer DLC blurbs
Like a more personal way to see what these guys are all about
Yeah! I'm kinda hoping we'll get more stuff like this...
also, the way he dances around is very puppet and I'm here for it
so what's the lore explanation for how Hayali wall banged that one guy in the trailer?
The Springfield 1866 doesn't have fmj
Bro is rachta Z
. seriously though from what i saw in the trailer he shot through a normal wooden wall so i think its reasonable.
its medium ammo what r u talking about lol
a gun doesnt need fmj to pen wood
Compact will go through a couple layers of wood I'm fairly sure.
Though I have fired a Martini at someone in a Porta potty his barrel sticking out its side and did not hit him
Impossible for it to miss I can see part of him clipping though the wall
I presume the next event is possibly gonna have Sculptor lore.
That would be agreeable. Maybe some lose ties back to Lynch or something that references As Bad they Seem.
It's its implied plague doctor creates scrap.
In what year does the plague start in hunt showdown? Its 1895 or its been arleady few years?
around 1893 or so
No, Plague Doctor is just a placeholder figure in the trailer, unfortunately. Not related to the Scrapbeak story. Crytek has already made it clear that we can't take the trailers literal.
But scrapbeaks story isn't surgeon usingn dark science made him.... and the plague doctor is exactly that...and in the trailer.
Soooo
Be pretty silly if it wasn't. He was also introduced in that event.
scrapbeak was a civil war vet who lost 1 leg in the war, then another later, then his arm. the trailer just uses plague doc's model as a stand in for a civil war surgeon when he loses his first leg and gets a nice metal peg leg instead. after the war he came back and was a tinkerer who went around with a box of crows and some ptsd. per his son he was abusive at home which finally made his son attack him, resulting in him completing his turn to scrapbeak. his mask was most likely fused on to him by the sculptor somehow. the plague doc was in europe all that time doing plague doc things until he got word of the hunt.
The plague literally is in the event video, it's literally said human surgical techniquess used in his creation. He appears in the same event. The Sculptor does not "fuse" shit. Scrapbeak was experimented on by humans. This isn't rocket science.
"From this, I must conclude that the beak was not part of the beast's original physiognomy, but rather a more recent addition — an addition that could only have been made through a most gruesome surgical procedure — and that the healing process was accelerated and warped by the transformation process of which I still, maddeningly, know so little. I shudder to think of it, for I can imagine no circumstance under which a man might agree, of his own free will, to allow such a surgery to take place, or the physician willing to perform it. Finding that physician - possibly under the influence of the corruption themselves - would give the most valuable insight into this creature. Perhaps the Sculptor is not, in the end, the most egregious being in the Bayou. One must only read the headlines of the daily papers to know the staggering capacity for cruelty of the human specimen. "
And then the Plague Doctor introduced same event..
"The Plague Doctor, it's rumored, lost his mind fighting a resurgent outbreak of the Black Plague abroad. A burning rage took hold of him and drove him to the old ways: first to masks, ambergris, and laundanum, then to cabalistic ritual and macabre science. Convinced that New Orleans represents a new evolution of the pestilence, he arrived to treat it with fire, lead, and his own array of ministrations. "
Yeah, real big mystery here
Are you always this pleasant?
Let's focus on me be being correct and not personal attacks
Im also generally joking haha
Which doesn't translate well
But lore implies plague doctor using dark science experimented on scrapbeak who then became corrupted. But the birds being totems implies other forces
I mean he even wears a very similar mask,.his bomblance is said to be made by scrapbeak.
Nah, Plague Dr and Scrappy are not connected- as Hazmat said, we can't take the trailers as lore. Perhaps we will get a event focused on scrappy again since we are getting the butcher event, to better explain the past and creation of the bosses,.
Did they retcon the Louisiana Event? theresw stuff in there dated to before 1893 (1885). I always assumed the plague was active well before 1893, but it became "public knowledge" if you will, in 1893 when it got really out of control due to Lynch killing Huff, Chary, etc... unless all that is retconned now
Yeah. Plague Doctor wields a weapon called the Shrike made by scrapbeak. Same mask. He's literally in the fucking trailer. Literally says scrapbeak had surgery performed on him by a physician using possible dark magic.
Then we have Plague Doctor...doctor uses dark science introduced in same event. In the trailer and wields a weapon made by scrapbeak
Cmon now
New lore is almost irrelevant to the original setting in content. As an aside.
Not only is Plague Doctor connected it's explicit.
I don’t know if it’s ever gotten fully retconned but it’s deffo less of a focus
Plague Doctor performed surgery on dude using already dark sorcery and at some point either became corrupted or is an avatar of another force. Transcended by some means.
gotcha. maybe next event will clear some stuff up lol
New lore barely attempts coherence with previous canon. Like scrapbeak collects the items and metal used in creation/cloning of monsters?
Dumb
I like that they’re circling back to older lore now too
Tying things together
So yeah I wouldn’t be surprised to see them revisit the Louisiana event
same. I got excited Lynch was mentioned in last event
Yesss
see if she comes back... be cool to have her replace chary's pot as the tribute keeper
I want her to be a legendary hunter so bad
offer her stones
same, but I have doubts she will ever be
The twins make more sense to me
I’d like her and the twins
^^
And also Allison!
YES
More lesbians for my hoard
😂😂😂
the louisiana event stuff is kinda in limbo, its canon till it get contradicted imo. also per the lore of the different compounds the infection may have started as early as the 1700s in blanchett
it also kills me that they didnt mention the teche snake during the whole serpent moon event
^
Maybe we'll get a teche snake analogue as a wild target someday
Is teche snake the snake that Lynch encountered?
Are you referring to BATS? I don't think the word teche is ever used, but Fin encounters a giant snake that reminds me a lot of the Teche snake
The only Teche I know of is Teche wraith
Fellow earth enjoyer and Grounded pact hunter 🤝
I only assume the giant snake Fin encounters is the Teche snake (or something similar) from the creation story of the Bayou Teche
A giant snake boss would be cool
Before Rotjaw I would have said a snake boss wouldn't make sense, because so far snakes have always been harbingers of good (telling Fin not to trust Lynch, and the ones that try to protect Kevin)
But Rotjaw changes things; she wasn't inherently evil, just protecting Enola and/or herself, but that's enough of a threat to hunters
I wouldn't think so since in both Voodoo and biblical culture snakes are viewed as devious and tricksters
Both of those themes are heavily present in the lore
My mind jumps to serpent's moon too where snakes are just a mere taste of the kind of beasts that can be conjured up
In those religions yes, but in others its seen as a symbol of fertility, transformation, among other things that aren't necessarily devious; so I'm not disagreeing that a snake boss wouldn't be cool; if anything the introduction of a snake boss could be a cool way to show conflicting symbolism being foisted upon it by different pacts
I'm curious how a rabbit can be symbol of fertility but so can a snake
different cultures, different views on things- rabbits are a fertility symbol from European paganism, as they breed like... rabbits. In the US, the native tribes seemed to moreso see the rabbit as a trickster, but with so many tribes and so many differnt views, hard to really lock that one in. Snakes, however, were the devil with Christianism, but in the US they are a mixed bag- some tribes see them as omens of bad, others revere them (especially the kingsnake, which eats other less friendly noodles). I don't know if I want to see a snake boss- I feel like we have the reptilian box checked with Rotjaw, but I would love to see the twins as hunters, and Fina in her post snake transformation visage
Finch from Tide of Shadows notes and Elwood Finch is same person?
Yup! :))
Lore YouTuber O_o
Why u think so?
As far as I know, we don't have any duplicate names, and it would be poor characaterization to have more than one dude running around under the name Finch. Elwood Finch "took over" the AHA (what remained) after the whole Chary event, and in ToS Chary was trying to convince the Grounded pact- those who still appear to be working for the AHA- to leave the AHA and join him.
He's part of the AHA. He was Huff's second in crazy command, and has already proved to be inclined to experiment with the other side. Definitely the same looney 😄
And like @real dove says, we don't have duplicate names in the lore :))
He's also the same one that Prodigal Daughter is after... she's got a bullet with his name on it, literally... 😉
Which is so fucking cool 😄
Thx @real dove @upbeat kiln 😘
right!? I want more of her story.
Same
honestly, there are so many legendary hunters I would love to so expanded on. When The Infected came out I was like "OH MY! THIS IS IT!" lol I was so ready for a huge expansion on how the Corruption functioned
Teche is specifically mentioned in some entry but can't recall where.
If hunt ever does get around to having a series, I’d love for it to be just like small arcs surrounding groups of the legendary hunters
I think that’s part of why I rly like the pacts
The fact that devil’s moon had bundles for all the DLC hunters that showed what faction they aligned themselves w was so great
It just shows small bits of what sort of things they value
true. I tossed another lore book idea into the suggestions. maybe someday they will bring something in
but agreed, I like seeing what hunters work with each other
The smaller ones we got with ToS were great
the ones in Inferno were kinda large, tho made sense since it was a big deal
Yeah
Lynch and Hardin: The Odd Couple
She did train him
I think that's why Louisiana is the best setting because of how much of a melting pot it is for cultures
You've got French, German, Italian, Irish, Cuban, Native American and Mexican as major ethnic groups living in the area during the time
I'm a big advocate for military references in video games so I've always thought how it'd be cool if we had veteran hunters from the Franco-Prussian war 1870
That would be... interesting lol
But agreed, I like the setting, and it's part of why I'm a bit wary of the supposed colorado map... If they expanded to texas, I'd be for it, allows for more hispanic heritage and more cowboys/girls, but still in the same regionish.
Lynch's parents must've hated her to name her like that
but the sheer number of cultures in louisiana? so good
Her first name starts with an A
Allison?
last name is Lynch, but since we don't know what the A is, lynch is easier to denote her
nope
Andrea?
that was/is one of the twin's girlfriens
dunno. Maybe someone else has knowledge I don't, but she's only ever refered to as "A" lynch on stuff
I always thought her name was just Lynch
never knew it was her last name
but it makes sense
Allison is the lover of one of the twins
yeah I got that part
I wonder what the point of keeping her first name a mystery is
Rival skin is hers think another weapon
yeah, Idk. We know Chary's first name, but not hers
maybe with her reappearing in ToS we will get her return
and find out
So her gun's name is her name
Because Chary is a charactiture (sp haha) not a character
?
Yeah it's actually "Alison" is the name of her Caldwell rival skin
dunno about her gun being her name, the only one I can think of is the gun named after allison\
Yeah, and it's aweome
which belongs to a twin
Daggers blood oath
the best rival skin and one I hope they bring back for Halloween is the Marwood
I think their last name is McGowen or something
Yeah sounds right
so are they brothers or sisters?
or is one of them a brother and the other a sister?
Sisters
Read "as bad as they seem" or some sbit
Entries collected, unreliable narration but implies accuracy.
so which one is in the relationship with Alison?
One that doesn't become a snake being haha
Gotta read it
All about Lynch and twins
where can it be read?
Wiki
so it's not present in the game's lore books?
Bad As They Seem is an undated manuscript from the author Hayden Collins. Pages of the manuscript are broken up across the weapon masteries found within the Liber De Armamentariis. Each section title corresponds to the necessary weapon and mastery tier required to unlock the entry.
The characters, in order of appearance, are listed below:
- Jos...
was this from a past event story?
Yeah one will be like xbow 2nd entry
yeah I'll have to read it all together at some point
I haven't really read any of the entries only the ones for guns like the Krag or Dolch
Some is in game some isnt
so it's probably better to find it on the wiki
Yes
Great guide someone made has them all
Or most to that point
That's a good source
Hazmat videos you tube also awesome
Also clearly contrasts quality if new lore for events
Lynch not human and such
Enjoy!
A tl;dr version: twins Jos and Fina were raised by their uncle, who was killed by blackcoat, their dad. Lynch comes along and teaches them about the Hunt, and they become effective killers. They go into the land of the dead on Lynch's request, bringing back some kind of weapon. Lynch kills Huff at somepoint. Fina gets bit by a noodle and eventually becomes part snake, while also gaining a giant snake ally. Jos dates Allison. Both realize Lynch isn't really a good guy, and go after her, but she escapes them.
but yeah, Hazmat has a bunch of stuff on it and bad as they seem covers most of it in order
who killed blackcoat?
and the noodle you're referring to is what?
a snake or a waterdevil?
The Twins Jos and Fina his twin daughters gunned him down after he killed their uncle after presumably returning to finish the job he started the night he killed their mother which was also the day of their birth.
so Jos and Fina are blackcoat's daughters?
All signs point to yes.
But never knew him. He sought them out killed their Uncle/father and they killed him being unaware of any of this.
Lynch shows up next, knows the particulars of the event which implies she was involved or that the significance of The Twins was known by others. Tarot cards for divination were to be a game mechanic at some point (well not for divination) so it's mentioned a few times in older (real) lore.
Lynch using divination saw The Twins as critical in her plot versus The Sculptor. She trains them and eventually sends them to the land of the dead in what's implied is The Butchers actual domain. Everything that can be Banished is extradimensional in nature. Whether it's a shard of The Sculptor or often hinted beings in their own right working for The Sculptor.
A snake spirit of some type intervenes , warns the twins and one of the twins becomes an acolyte I guess of said spirit.
They confront Lynch with the 2nd weapon they recover from land of the dead and the giant snake spirit. Supernatural confrontation occurs Lynch flees the mortal realm and Twins close the portals trapping Lynch in her home dimension (she isn't human).
Various other beings are mentioned. As is the tale of Victor something trying to track them down. Duos in the Bayou is a ritual thing, it's something with Hunters oath, The Twins are very powerful related to this.
What happens to them after Huff? Or whoever is head of the AHA isn't mentioned but them seeking out Finch to lead it is last mention of them in that tale.
Timeline in game is all distorted to shit due to the new "narrative" and fan fiction level lore.
Doesn't mesh well
New head of writing took over sometime recent when they tried to create narratives for the events. Which make little sense and focus on irrelevant shit nobody cares about without touching on the existent threads of plot already established.
A snake snake. I'd guess it's not a normal snake since she turns part snake after the bite (which she barely survived after several days of floating around in the water n such)
But yes, all signs point to them being his daughters. BATS needs to be taken with a grain of salt- they've retconned a bunch of old lore, and it was also written as an embellishment on the actual events of the twins. It's why we were so excited to have Lynch show up in ToS, it means she's still active as a character
Retconned meaning ignored it out of being poor at their trade.
Changing shit being unaware of that its important. Embarissing.
with the bat, i wonder if we will get a ball player hunter
even better, what would the hunter baseball team be called
Glad i'm not the only one pointing this out lol
Swamp gators
Basic, to the point, classy
mmm, I raise you the Louisiana Pianos (pronounced pian-as like my grandma always called it LOL)
They need to be one of those dancing teams tho. like the Savannah banananananas
redshirt for pitcher
actually, he
'd be the catcher
since the bulls eye would be right at the correct zone lol
and we'll call it bayou bowl.
Genuinely starting to wonder if the AHA is just making the situation worse in a way we can't percieve. All that spilled blood and death? We're just leaving more raw material around for the Sculptor to work with... 😱
I remember someone in the art channel doing jersey art
The AHA is making things worse period. Huffs experimenting let the situation happen and made things worse to boot. Then after his death the splitting of the factions basically made things impossible
EUROPE PİNG !!!
"some regions are blocked due to network issues. pleace check your network connection or select another region"
I'm feeling So Normal about sofia presumably leading the death pact
I'm chomping at the bit waiting for the event to drop now bc I can't wait to see how that storyline plays out
Same! looks like Enola has been swept under the rug tho. :/
interested in seeing how ToS and ToC are connected
if are
tbf enola wasn't really part of tide of shadows
as much as the rotjaw lore
I think the connecting thread here is the doors to the realm of death being ajar
I'm really interested in seeing what they do here
it is funny that the death pact is like "we want to restore the natural order of death!" but is also like
- sofia (yeah she sees Death but is also just a literal serial killer)
- reaper (also just a literal serial killer)
- wormbite (grave digger here for the vibes)
Eh, I'm hoping she's a kevin and shows up to help close the gates... or walks through them to get back to princess. Tho I still think she's fused with Gar.
But yeah, I'm curious to see what they decide to do
we want to restore the natural order of death by killing!
use death to restore death!
If she's a Kevin, the only thing she shows up to do is die lol
It is kind of funny how all the new characters died during their events mostly
In a way, it kinda makes sense, wraps up that character's arc
I don't think any of the new characters have died during their events, kevin came back to life at the end, and the gar is the one doing the killing 😂
actual photo of the archeologist walking into the bayou and seeing someone lit it on fire again
I'd love to see narrative threads being brought up between events in regards to the pacts
like, maybe the witch hunter doesn't really care abt the natural order of death, but she does now feel some sense of loyalty to Sofia from both being Lunar, so she joins her in the death pact
I just tossed this into feedback discussion but I'd love to see them actually use the questline system for this
every few weeks star a hunter in a quest, drop some lore, maybe a skin or something, or crates/weapons/HD/BB.... but expand upon the hunters while giving folks another way to earn exp and want to play
Or bring back an old event skin and run it. dunno. but that'd be cool. have some cross between hunters
I like questlines but I think the combo of the questlines plus tide of shadows resulted in burnout for people
but like lower intensity questlines could be nice
Yeah. I wasn't thinking anything hard, just something small- like when they were doing interview before ToS released
man those were so cool
no FOMO or anything
You get bonus quest points for playing the starring hunter, could have quest lines around guns they use, with lil bits of lore + normal quest drops like HD, weapons, tools, etc, and just have like a 30BB reward or whatever at the end. Or hell, a discount on that hunter (if BB buyable)
dunno. Am just in a why aren't they using the quests kinda mood apparently. And also LORE PLS GOD PLS but that's, like, always so
I have a pasture of dead horses I just walk around beating
Fingers crossed the Halloween and holiday events will use quests again
Is there more backstory to The Infected besides what’s in the in-game store description?
Unfortunately not :((
Bro, your You Tube videos are pure awesomeness. 💯
I assume farming the energy of the bounty token.
Seems to be the only functional part of the system, payout for bounty
Nothing else seems to matter
Hunters in game era expendable, barely trained, thrown en mass to their death
Allowed to kill eachother etc
The "serum" made my Lynch basically a death sentence.
Doesn't make much sense to make a "serum" that just kills the user
Well, eventually. You trade something like half your life expectancy for abilities and ability to survive using the other serums.
Sounds like an illegal substance
Lol. Yeah, a lot of hygenic products and medicine in the late 1800s early 1900s had illegal substances.
Coca cola literally had cocaine in it
All I need to say
And doctors labeled cigarettes as the heal all's.
Gave em to kids
Those times where fucked for everything
Potasium Nitrate and Mercury were included im medicinal regimines.
Opium, Laudanum and Cocaine. The barber shop in my hometown had wallpaper from the 1880s still up with advertisments for all kinds of products. They used Boxinite (used to prpcess alunimum) in toothpaste.
Hell, Snake Oil was coined back them and in the game, we're using in part.....snake oil. <snicker>
What are the things new weapons' lore entries talk about, after "bad as they seem" has ended?
because I'm tired of mastering new guns, right after an event full of me using them has ended
@granite stump To prove you know nothing about cocaine
@Danger Ranger 133099920 She sells it to Huff and considers him a fool and snickers about the consequences of using it. Short term survival in bayou but corruption by something demonic
But serums not produced by her are in lore and obviously predate her. She has vast occult knowledge and ends justify means.
Implied bloodlines are those initiated by something containing the blood of a Hunter. Grows in strength with experience, hence why bloodline exp isn't a specific Hunter but a lineage, the players Hunter lineage.
Also it's not immunity and it allows interaction with dark occult energies that themselves are uhhhh corrupting
Most legendaries seem old school breed, already trained, already have methods to survive the taint (occult or herbal).
Some contradictions,
what?
@granite stump must have been some edit haha
?????
Yes, indeed, .....wut?
Heh look up "radium" history in products and medicine...
Well, Radium saves our compromised balls and bones.
Maybe its just hoopla but could it be theorized that billy coming back with the infected could mean lore wise theyd be aligned w the demented pact as the infected is ya know infected by the sculptors hooha magic and maybe was also able to resurrect billy or am i just over thinking it
Wait Mr. Charry took over the AHA during Traitor's moon? Is Charry still around? Wasn't he chased away or dissapeared like Lynch at the resolution of Devil's Moon?
It's so unclear what exactly he did after the events of Devil's Moon. He wasn't chased away per se at the end of Devil's Moon. Because It appears the Inferno Pact is still around based on Tide of Corruption's event trailer. But, then it leaves open what exactly was he doing during Tide of Shadows and when does that occur in relation to the Moon trilogy? I'm hoping the next event gives some clues to the timing of certain events.
If things are uncertain, do we presume that Charry is still head of AHA right now?
As of the end of Devil's Moon and so the entire Moon trilogy? No. The Louisina branch of the AHA was disbanded, so he's doing his own thing.
But the problem is figuring out where in the grand scheme of Hunt's timeline the Moon trilogy occurs
I'm still mulling over the possibility that Tide of Shadow happened before the Moon trilogy. And with the reintroduction of the Inferno pact, Tide of Corruption happens after the trilogy. But, I could be completely wrong.
I think I am with you on the timing of Tide of Shadows chronology. If I remeber correctly, some of the entries were June/July of 1895 and isn't the "present" date of Hunt November 1895?
I dunno anymore man. I'm just rollin with what they give us 😂
He was removed from leadership with Finch filling in.
Time line and the narrative is nearly incomprehensible. But Chary was removed after charming/buying his way in. Extensive connections and wealth
AHA can't be disbanded for whose paying bounties and recruiting and initiating new members.
Chary, he's still prancing around dodging bullets cackling and monologing like the absurd cliche he is.
OG story line Finch is recruited by The Twins after Huff is killed and Lynch banished. That was supposed to set the players for this game.
We haven't heard anything about lynch in forever right?
Nevermind people still talking about them, but what was the last lore that included them?
Bad As They Seem, I think
Besides the mention in the lore about Rotjaw where she brings back Enola from the Land of the Dead
Fr
@ornate jackalt, your latest video Rotjaw explained was your best yet. Is the 80 years span of Enola in the otherworld something thatvwas in the lore chapters?
Yep. Her journal is dated in the event, and she first went in with the redcoats, so that helps us get an idea of the timespan
Does anyone have a list of stories locked behind weapon masteries? because I'm often looking at certain weapons, for instance the centennial, and it has the first 2 chapters, and since the other variants didn't come until much later, the rest of the chapters are in different gun masteries
I think there's a steam guide with all of them, let me try and find it
I found some guides, but many of them are from 2019/2020
so they won't have stories from the newer guns like the krag or drilling
for example this one is outdated as hell
updated in february 2021
@upbeat kiln sorry for the ping, but you are the Hunt Lore Guy™️
Do you perhaps know any updated list of stories in the book of weapons, or know on what guns each story is placed? I'm mostly talking about new guns and variants, since it's hard to find the chapters, if you don't know what guns were added in the same update
I am not Hazmat, but i know the wiki sometimes has them. A lot of the newest ones can be found by searching in this channel as well.
While they aren't grouped together based on storyline, I've worked to put all of the pages into the wiki. Only missing drilling and uppermat right now, but I have the files for them. Just search for the page for each weapon you want to see the pages for. https://huntshowdown.fandom.com/wiki/Hunt:_Showdown_Wiki
And one more thing - the final pages of that story are in the winfield terminus pages. Both weapons were added in 1.5 so the whole story plays out between those two and not all under the centennial's variants. Most often, missing pages to a storyline appear under the pages of other guns that were added in together in the same update. https://huntshowdown.fandom.com/wiki/Winfield_1887_Terminus
Hey no worries! @signal stratus has made an entire list on Steam with a lot of the lore. You can find it right here. I don't think it containts most of the new stuff though
You already posted this.
hahahaha
It's 6:25AM. I'm useless. I'll crawl back in my basement now. lol
what is this
hot air balloon
Silent Hill reference
Have you seen the monolith ? It's on the same map :)
greatest response
I don't remember anything like this in a Silent hill game, which installment was it featured in?
Have you seen the giant cowboy jack'o lantern?
Irc it's from a scene in the movie.
haven't seen the movies
if they're anything like the Resident evil movies it'll probably stay that way
Is s*x canon in the hunt universe?
It's at very least implied
Some guy rizzed up the moon
W
Yeah- meatheads are the stillborn child of a hunter, gotta do the horizontal tango to make that happen lol. Hunters are sterilized as the result of this tho. We have Lulu, who is a woman of the night, and several entrys that show she and Sofia are an item
in bad as they seem there's also a fade to black between jos and allison
it wasn't no lol
If think if you manage to bring home the moon, you've pretty much completed Tinder at that point
Achievement Unlocked: Landed the Moon
Truth. We have quite a few relationships, and I'd think that would lead to some fun time. Akin to Olympic athlete villages during the olympics lol
This just in, Kevin is Sokka
I would say for the moon it is less rizzed her up and more was so adoptable
the moon saw him and said this is my son now
(she's not a very good mom)
look at Redneck and tell me sex isnt canon.
Cain got them bedroom eyes. Sex in Hunt confirmed
God I hope the next hunt showdown event is Tide of Sex
💀
If anyone pops up here by some chance can you @ me if anyone has screenshots or text of the last event chapters, i forgot to read them after unlocking or is there an official resource?
Is there any information on the pacts themselves? I never understood their purpose, how they come about, etc.
I put together this video of the Hunt Showdown Event Tide of Shadows full story. Chapters 1 through 15 are blended together for a more immersive feeling. This video took me a little while, I really hope you enjoy it and it makes your experience of the new event even more enjoyable! Thank you so much for watching - Zoiby :)
______________________...
I know I dropped the second half of the chapters in here. #lore-discussion message
the rest are around that same time. Wiki has them all as well
Probably the best place to read them @digital kernel
Appreciate it
clearly 😉
mostly focused on hearing sofia but looking at the later half of the story chapters
they're all from chary's point of view
which will be interesting
looking forward to those (but I'm mainly chomping at the bit waiting to hear more from sofia)
The murmurstone, the insect head fossil thing, solid, 4/10 name
Murmurstone is such a lovely and sinister name, they might as well have called it "The Sinister and Ominous McGuffin"
I read that as mushroomstone
And what would you name it? No sarcasm, I’m seriously curious.
I’m not sure I’d have given it a name tbh. Maybe each pact or faction could have a different name for it. I haven’t began the event yet so idk how big of a role it plays in things yet. Another idea could have been just calling it after whatever ancient bug it’s supposed to resemble, or something like (I’m assuming it’s beetle related but insert relevant insect here) a Coleolith
Forgot to do a direct reply^
Tbh it is the butcher’s cleaver giving it a name so I think it kinda fits
Like it’s whispering madness to him so he’s like “yes this is the murmerstone”
It shouldn't go without saying that anything with "stone" in the name is probably a McGuffin or plot device
like Harry Potter with the sorcerer's stone or Skyrim with the Dragon's stone
Interestingly enough the black coat is alive as of this lore
We know events in bad as they seem are partially fictionalized in universe but I’m curious abt this
So, while I wait for the event to hit console; Why is the Bayou on fire again?
Freak lightning strike? Otherworldly flames bleeding in from another world? One Hunter who decided the only way to stop it was to burn it all down?
Originally it was because Lunar was burning magic flowers to break Chary's invulnerability
Not sure why the Bayou is on fire this time around but since Chary was mentioned last event it's probably for the same reason
So, everyone is pretty much arriving and going "Oh, not again..." ?
The Bayou has been pretty weird but when the Events happen, we reach a whole new level ofWeird where reality becomes slightly more unstable, hmm?
Demented pact lit it on fire this time
So in the Devil's Moon letter Circe writes to Kevin, it sounds like the fires had already been occurring due to the Infernal pact starting them. Lunar weaponized it and turned it back on Chary by using the oleander
I think this event halpens before Lunar trilogy. As most of the lore is around 1893 to mid 1895.
I haven't started this event yet. Gonna open the game later tonight so I can see all the lore chapters first hand.
It would be interesting if that’s how they explain why black coat is alive
so some pretty cool stuff I notice this event
It's very German rooted
The Waldmann gives me the impression of a Bavarian huntsman
and the Burnt Marshall looks to be wearing old fireman clothing
he also appears to be wearing a Pickelhaube without a point
It's also cool to see featured weapons that belong to specific hunters
Luna wolf uses a Krag and Felis uses a Lemat carbine
I am once again saying: WHAT TIME IS IT!
Black Cloak was killed by the Twins but he’s alive in Tide of Corruption?
I really hope the explanation is that Black Coat was canonically dead and then resurrected by what happened with the Delphine.
Because the alternative is that the devs can’t keep their own lore straight
Nothing is non-cannon until it’s removed from the game.
too bad they don't say anything when they do, it just becomes confusing to try and keep track of what is non canon, they've already retconned stuff without saying anything (Cascade Mountains infestation) and forgotten about previous threads (Serpent's Moon & Viper)
resurrection
I would be down for that, if they did it right. The Death pact’s whole thing seems to be dealing with the undead. Itd be a good time to talk about the infected and the revenant too.
It's canon, we just have the same attitude as the hunters
A lot of them don't care what's happening, they just like getting paid for being murder-apes
Is your pfp AI generated?
no, it is https://twitter.com/ghost236/media
Not like this :((
Mmmmm haven't had time to dive into the event yet... but I hope to the gods someday they decide to freaking add a lorebook that clears up timelines and such. I wondered if this event isn't happening after inferno but at the same time as ToS, between the fire and return of the pinkertons. But really, lore book. would help so much to make sense of this all
As far as I can tell this event is shotly after the TOS event as they refer to Gar and the gator as well as the delphine in the stories.
gotcha. I haven't been able to play any of it yet
but good, glad Gar isnt washed under the viper bridge
Not with lynch in the main universe
I think the thing to remember abt BATS is that it’s fictionalized in universe
I had been taken it as canon that the black coat was killed by the twins, but the author could have taken the showdown between them and said “ok it’s a better story if he dies” as opposed to them kicking his ass but leaving him alive
Lol. Imagine consequences.
are there any plans for a Lore Book ? i mean all those cool events with narration and unlocked text, why cant i read them again in a book like weapons or Monsters
yes they are on the wikia, but comon
hopefully, but none have been announced so far
I've been asking for it on occassion in the suggestions. They do look at them clearly so I'm hoping i'll happen eventually
If Crytek could let the license out for a novel that would be throwing the lore people a colossal dinosaur sized bone
truth
Hi guys! I'm new to game (around 30h) and I'm loving it (even though I'm still learning on the pvp front). I'm very interested on the lore of the game so I was wondering if there was a file (or a .zip) which gathered all the information currently known on locations, monsters, weapons etc. Thank in advance for any help!```
i don't know of any file but you can check the hunt wiki for lore pages etc. there also a youtuber called hazmatFTW that goes in-depth with hunt lore.
I was hoping to have all in one place, but thanks for the advice I will check both!
HazmatFTW has some great videos on the lore
Check the wiki
This is why myself and others in this channel keep screaming for a lorebook. We want to keep everything nice and tidy and in one place. And there's ambiguity about which parts of the lore are canon and what's retconned, what's fictionalized within the game universe versus documentation of real events. It's an absolute mess rn
I’m currently making a document on the various lore source types (primary source/secondary source, and fictionalized sources) that will contain links to/images of most of the lore
Bc I’m very normal abt this game lmao
You doin' the Lord's work
I just think there's a lot of confusion surrounding things in the game that could be cleared up if things get clearly labeled "this is a secondary source written years after the event" or "this is a fictional story in-universe, it talks about things that likely happened to some extent but don't take everything as actual canon" 😂
plus with how spread out things are, it'd be nice to have an updated doc showing what you can read about which character
here's the doc I'm working on btw, the link should have permission to comment so if there's anything in here so far that doesn't sound right, feel free to put something in there. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1xKmibdotnnTx_BX0tNoq6gNLRFHbWAgcsJUzzBqskUI/edit?usp=sharing
General information: Hunt lore is presented through a variety of in-universe sources. Not all of them can be treated equally as reliable sources of information. Letters from people involved in events, newspaper clippings, conversation logs, and fictionalized stories are all used to present the s...
It's super incomplete lol
Is this official lore or fan fiction?
Official
At least as official as it can be
But at least 95% are set in stone officiallest possible lore out there
I’m using only official lore, mostly from the book of weapons, but I will include stuff from the hunt site bc there’s important lore that’s only been posted there
why do huntes only bleed to one tipe of bullet
suction
Other type of bleeding is eeeaasily ignored, while the dum dum ones are too dum dum to be ignored
It is very hard to ignore dumbness
Hoping there’s a Ghoul Theme for Halloween this year. Devs always tease it but it never happens
Gar had death cheat, and she'd planned to cheat death the same way the bosses do
Does it say she’s dead? To me it reads more like she was just standing on top of rotjaw as rotjaw banished
Also I’m fairly confident that Mr Chary is in league with the Sculptor.
Reading Chapter 7 there’s a confrontation between Chary and the Butcher’s Cleaver where Chary says some interesting stuff.
I’m paraphrasing a bit but what he said was along the lines of “Don’t you think it’s odd that despite you being the ones who summoned the fire’s it’s us who are healed by the fire.”
Implying that for all of his talk about being the true servants of the Sculptor’s whispers they’re nothing but useful pawns.
It also implies that whether they know it or not the members of the Infernal Pact are not fighting the corruption but aiding it
It could also just be Chary messing with the BC’s head and undermining his confidence.
I’ll tell you one thing I am excited to read Chary’s Entires down the road
I’m super excited to get to chary’s chapters
