It does, but the problem is that enemy damage/projectiles are calculated on the server side as well. You can often get hit and killed when you already jumped away or dashed out behind cover.
Would make more sense to calculate the player instructions locally and sync back to the server. This is not a PvP gene, so a possibility of local abuse is not a big deal. Though, devs will likely need to re-work how the multiplayer works at its core, which might be problematic at this stage
Yeah the time investment required to change up the netcode sounds very long
And yet, some unpaid madmen reverse engineered a single player custom engine from 2000s to support multiplier (Might&Magic VI-VIII)
yeah this is what i meant. i know its a big ask but might as well put it out there if they ever decide to do it.
