Sorry for my ignorance, but I'd like to see if it's possible to make a backup of my 6s at iOS 13.1.2 so I could restore back to it later after I've updated to the latest version.
Effectively, I am currently at 13.1.2, and would like to update to iOS 15.5. I'd also like to go back to 13.1.2 if the time comes. Is this possible?

backups dont contain firmware data so they can’t be used to downgrade, you could save onboard blobs but SEP will prevent you from using them
so if you update you’re stuck there

mind if I ask, what jailbreak were you using by chance? depending on that, you may have blobs as far back as 14.6 (depending on how frequent you were jailbroken plus when you initially jailbroke) which are usable

No. Doesn't work like that. Backups only contain user data not system version.
