Can't get BetterCC tweak to work | r/Jailbreak | Page 1

I recently purchased a iPhone SE (3rd gen) that came installed with iOS 16.4.1. Jailbreaking and installing most tweaks was no problem, but for the life of me I can't get the BetterCC tweak to work. An iOS tweak compatibility list shows BetterCCXI should still work with iOS 16..... except it's not. I downloaded BetterCCXI, derootified it and installed it. My iPhone restarts in safe mode after a respring, and the Settings app where BetterCCXI is located crashes upon opening. I derootified and installed BetterCC Lite correctly, but the tweak fails and safe mode starts if I try to enable its settings. Then there's just BetterCC 0.0.55. The only thing displayed in its settings after derootifying and installing it can be seen in the attached screenshot.

So what's up with this tweak? Why isn't it working even though the tweak list shows it compatible?

PS. The same problem occurred with my iPhone SE (1st gen) on iOS 15.8.

based on what you said in #jailbreak, I’m inclined to believe that part of the issue is you pirating it or otherwise getting it from a piracy repository

Fine, let's never mention the source again. The tweak itself is not piracy, right? Is it kosher to ask for help on getting it to work?

I find that unlikely. I tried three different versions of the tweak from two different sources. All three failed. It seems like there's a systemic problem, but I have no idea how to fix it.
