#What's the best version to update to from iOS 15.0.2?

More and more apps are dropping iOS 15.0.2 support, for example WhatsApp will stop support on May 5th 2025. What is my best option to update to on my iPhone 13 Pro? I can still Delay OTA to iOS 17.7(.1) or any iOS 18 and up version. Is there any reason to pick one over the other in regards to sideloading/jailbreaking? I am aware of SparseRestore and it allowing you to bypass the 3 app sideload limit. What is the highest iOS version that supports this SparseRestore bug?

So after doing some research, apparently iOS 18.1 beta 4 is the last version that is supported by the SparseRestore bug, and 18.1 beta 5 and up have patched it

#

It also doesn't seem like iOS 17.7 has any advantages sideloading wise either, so I am leaning towards Delay OTA updating to iOS 18.0.1

Please note that you won’t be able to downgrade

#

So make sure that is what you want

Is there any chance people can get it to keep working on unsupported older versions?

Does not work?

Well, I won’t know until the support deadline has passed (May 5th), but by that time the Delay OTA window for iOS 18.0.1 will have long passed

#

So I’m feeling kind of forced to make a decision sometime soon so that hopefully I will be future proof on a newer iOS version for a longer time again

Wow this is sick

#

It seems to be some kind of shell that grabs your messages from a login on your pc or something

#

The website does mention that this will work on iOS 7 and up, but it will retain the iOS legacy design lmao

#

Definitely better than nothing tho

i mean whatsapp supported ios 12+

#

so no one worked for those ios versions

#

im sure that'll change now

Okay, you guys have kinda convinced me to still wait it out and see if there’s gonna be workarounds by the time the support officially stops

#

And who knows what the sideloading possibilities on newer iOS updates are like anyways by that time
