I made a post like this on Reddit, but nobody ever helped me ever since I wanna say 2017 I have not been able to update my phone regularly. I think it happened when I installed my jailbreak on my phone and I installed a tweak at the time that didn’t allow updates so it didn’t auto update my phone and break my phone now it’s 2024 and if I wanna update my phone, I have the first back up my phone to my computer. Then I need to factory reset my phone then go into settings and update my phone then restore my backup on my computer and then my phone will be updated. I don’t know what’s going on. It could be my Apple ID but I don’t want to change that cause I’m pretty sure if I change that, I lose all my contacts and everything else or whatever file is in my Apple ID I don’t know. I’ve been needing help for a long time.

Since 2017, after jailbreaking my phone and installing a tweak to block updates, I haven’t been able to update normally. Now, to update, I have to back up to my computer, factory reset, update, and then restore the backup. It might be tied to my Apple ID, but I’m hesitant to change it and risk losing data. I’ve been stuck with this for years and need help.

yeah because you disabled OTA updates

#

and the backup you have is infested with the OTA disabler

#

since youre on the latest IOS theres not much you can do

#

what you could try is downgrading to 17.6 beta, use nugget to toggle on OTA and see if that helps

#

other than that youre out of luck

#

(and shouldve addressed this issue earlier)

The thing is, I’ve been trying to for years and could never find anything to help and I know you can’t jailbreak the newest iPhones so I just gave up on it
