That errors apparently just me using a usb c adapter so i gotta reconnect it after dfu mode

oh yeah, assuming you're using usb-c to usb-a adapter to then use a usb-a to lightning cable, when you see the "DFU mode device disconnected" message, give it 1-2 seconds then manually unplug and plug your ipad back in
maybe you're already doing that, maybe it doesn;'t have an effect, but it's what i have to do to make it work

you shouldn't notice any difference, ig it's worth trying since you can't get the app to open

reinstall palera1n on your mac
then see if that fixes anything
if you're using an older version of palera1n it wont work on 17.6.x
