Reenable OTA updates.

Basically I tried to Jailbreak my iPad years ago because I didn't use it. Now my grandma uses it but the OTA updates don't work. I really had no idea what I did but she's running just a normal iOS atm. I usually just manually update through iTunes after finding the iOS online somewhere but if anyone know how to reenable OTA updates that would be helpful.

DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode is a mode which allows a device in any condition to be restored to a fresh version of iOS (not to be confused with Recovery Mode). This can also be used to jailbreak using checkra1n and palera1n!

DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode is a mode which allows a device in any condition to be restored to a fresh version of iOS (not to be confused with Recovery Mode). You cannot keep data when restoring via DFU and you can only restore to a signed version.

To restore via DFU:

• Enter DFU Mode
• Once you enter DFU, the device should show a black screen.
• Connect the device to a Mac/PC and open Finder/iTunes.
• On the prompt that says "A device has been connected in recovery mode and needs to be restored" press "Restore iPhone" then "Restore and Update.”

anyways make sure you're using a usb a to lightning cable

usb c cables can cause problems on older devices

also try the apple devices app, uninstall itunes if u downloaded it from the microsoft store as well

Apple is just pepega and doesn’t like cords that arent from them

some 3rd party cables just dont work for restores

they need to be somewhat fast

I tried like 10 different cords that were all USB and it was saying not charging

I found the usb c to lightning and its working now
