I got this Ipod from a friend and it's just stuck on the green posion screen. When I turn it on it goes from a regular apple logo to the skull. I've read some articles on this and they say to put it in DNF mode but I've tried this and it doesn't do anything it just sits there. I've also tried to plug it into Itunes and it doesn't reconize the device. I also tried to use Redsn0w to recover it but it tells me to put it in DNF mode and I am unable to do that. Is the Ipod bricked or is there something im missing?
#Ipod 1st gen stuck on green poison boot loop

I'm not an expert on legacy versions at all but i'd have to imagine that it's a tethered jailbreak
also that looks like a second or third gen iPod Touch, not a first gen
the first gen didn't have volume buttons and the bezel was not polished silver
You'll have to use greenposi0n in order to boot it, if you don't wanna do that and wanna go nuclear you could try entering DFU mode again with iTunes open, and you might be entering DFU mode wrong.
though greenpois0n was untethered, weird
how long do you keep it on the boot screen for?
I'm not familiar with Apple products at all lol I'm a Samsung guy so my bad I didn't know it was a different one.
It never turns off right when I plug it in it just goes to green poison it would do wheel spinning next to the logo then it would just freeze and sit there for about 30 minutes then it would flash white for a splitsecond then go to the apple logo then switch to Green poison. It would then just repeat that cycle until it runs out of battery
seems it's bootlooping?
it going to greenposi0n is normal as it's an untethered jailbreak
so it persists always
Yup that's what it's doing, couldn't find the word for it
Yes
Is there a green poison program that I need to install on my pc?
i imagine you'd need to reset it, idk if it's recoverable since i'm not an expert with old jailbreaks
I'm not sure I actually never modded one myself it won't turn off or do anything just stuck boot looping. What do you mean by it needing to be tethered?
Tethered means it requires a computer in order to even boot or it will fail to do so. This isn't the case with yours however, but many others around this age did.
That's what I thought do you know if there's some program that does that maybe it needs it to wipe it
idk
Alr just checking
I cant It wont reconize it
This is more likely a DFU mode than a DNF mode
Ok I'll try dfu mode
I just put it in dfu mode and it gives me an error message
ive done this a couple of times and it keeps doing this. Is there something im doing wrong?
I've disconnected it many times and got it out of dfu mode and plugged it back in. The first time I did it it let me restore it but it just sat there and didn't do anything when I restored it.
does it not let you press ok and continue?
try plugging the phone in while it's completely off then run the keys for dfu
I just got it working I tried it on a different computer. It gave me the same error then I uninstalled it and reinstalled then put it in dfu mode and it restored it. It's solved thank you guys for trying to help me😃
