So I am trying to understand all this and it says that this is an advanced user thing so, but I will try my best. What I have read that a blob is just the signiture to be able to downgrade because otherwise its not possible. Now we have the SEP/BB chart which tells us that anything which is an A12 device and higher is dead in the water. But my iPhone 8 seems to have a chance using a guide which may work. Apple is no longer signing any old versions so how can I get blobs for older versions? Via tethered downgrading? Does my iPhone needs to be activated to get blobs? 😶

TL;DR My Question is: I don't have any ios 15 or 14 blobs so am I out of luck or can I dump blob via tethered downgrade?

why is the guide telling not to use it to bypass iCloud in the first place. Like that means I have to be a thief litterly go and steal a phone which is on lower ios than 16 and save the blob, then do an update and then it should get icloud locked somehow sometime however and then attemt to bypass it?

semi-tetherd is requres a pc but ios still works
semi-untetherd means works without pc but you need to jailbreak from the app but it doesont need a pc
and untetherd you do it once from pc or from youre iPhone and its permenetly
and its a term for jailbreaks and downgrades usesaly

So there is no way of getting blobs afterwards because I thought if I somehow do a tethered downgrade that I can save the blobs and follow this guide to activate it and do it untethered

when you tether downgrade you use an incorrect blob for the version you tether to

for example you might use a 17.0.0 blob to downgrade to 15

it lets you update to some versions up to 90 days after the next one is released

so right now you could update to 16.5.1 without blobs
