iPadOS 14.4.2, Fugu14 unc0ver

This ones a doozy. I checked Zebra today to see if I had any updates, and it did, including Zebra itself. everything installed correctly, except Zebra. when it got to that step, my device instantly resprung. When I checked again, the Zebra update was still there, so I tried running it again, and it said that dpkg was stopped and that I needed to run ‘dpkg —configure -a’ to fix the issue. So I opened newterm and ran that command, with su of course. and it said that —configure wasn’t a valid option. I though weird, but I’ll just shutdown and re jailbreak and I’m sure unc0ver will sort everything out. Title spoiler it did not. Now unc0ver throws the same ‘random respring’ thing near the end of step 29 and infinitely loads. I haven’t tried anything else as I’d figure I’d ask for help before I fuck this thing up some more. Would appreciate any help or resources that will allow me to get my device up and running again.

Unfortunately, it's kind of an issue with unc0ver where dpkg will sometimes yeet itself, and typically the only fix is just to restore rootFS. Even more annoying is that often times unc0ver will refuse to restore rootFS if dpkg is messed up, so it requires some manual tinkering to get the restore rootFS to go through. Here's some info on how to perform the manual file edits if the normal restore rootFS doesn't work:

While using semi-untethered jailbreaks such as unc0ver or Taurine, you may experience issues when attempting to restore rootfs. While in most cases there is no official fix, you may try some workarounds to fix it yourself. You may visit /tag rootfs to see how to restore rootfs with various jailbreaks

Chimera users on 12.5.6 utilizing ChimeraFix must ensure they are using v2 of the package in order to restore rootfs.

Taurine may have issues if you attempt to restore rootfs after previously jailbreaking with another tool, or the process may rarely fail even if jailbroken with Taurine. If this occurs, follow the linked guides for unc0ver.

unc0ver users may use either of the following guides based on your version.

this time I haven't restarted my device so I'm still jailbroken. things seem to install fine but its still doing the respringing itself early thing.

I found the cause, It was Snapper 2s 2.7.0 update. something with it is tripping up dpkg, reverting it to the last version fixes the error.

shame I had to lose destra. aside from a couple reddit posts it seems to be gone. not even an entry on ios repo updates remains
