#Unable to re-jailbreak nor able to restorerootfs on iPhone 6S - iOS 15.7.5

Hey there, I'm currently having a problem with palera1n

I accidentally shut off my device, and when I tried to re-jailbreak using sudo ./palera1n.sh --tweaks 15.7 --semi-tethered, it did managed to somewhat do it, but the iPhone would reset itself after 3-5 seconds while booting in verbose mode.

So I thought maybe there's a broken tweak that I installed, I tried to restorefs by using CL sudo ./palera1n.sh --restorerootfs 15.7 --tweaks --semi-tethered. But it said that something goes wrong and it can't do it.

I did noticed that whenever palera1n tries to enter recovery mode, the usbmuxd does said something like Device 2 disconected at 2XXX, but I don't know if it's the root of the problem. (I did try out different port but it still persist).

(Setup: USB-A Lighting Port, Palera1n legacy (I still prefer the manual tweak activation at startup), Ubuntu 22)) (The log contains usbmuxd and palera1n CLI logs when restorerootfs, normal rejailbreak is fine)

Once again, any help is appreciated!

#

yeah @karmic fox your using an extremely outdated version of palera1n

#

download palera1n beta 5 (NOT BETA 6, IT HAS ISSUES WITH INSTALLATION ON ROOTFUL) and run

#

palera1n —force-revert -f

#

then run

#

palera1n —force-revert

#

then, create either a fakefs or a BindFS, depending on how much space you have

#

BindFS is about 3-5GB

#

fakefs is 5-10GB

#

bindFS = palera1n -Bf, then to boot to the fakefs/BindFS run palera1n -f

#

FakeFS = palera1n -fc to create the fakefs, then palera1n -f to boot to it

#

so first time setup run either bindfs or fakefs setup, then from that point on just boot to it

@keen star Oh and any version of palera1n 2.0.0 betas would always stuck on

 - [05/12/23 08:32:38] <Verbose>: Device should now reconnect in download mode
 - [05/12/23 08:32:38] <Verbose>: DFU mode device disconnected

are you perhaps using a USB-C cable?

also make sure to use a stock apple cable

Used to make it work months ago, but I accidentally do rootful instead of rootless
I don't think USB is an issue because I'm using USB-A cable that I bought from certified store last month

I've able to fixed it, by not updating Linux/macOS at all.
