LegacyJailbreak is better suited for this
Get VMWare Workstation Player and set up Windows 7 inside it.
Once the VM is set up, download redsn0w 0.9.15b3 from https://archives.legacyjailbreak.com (use a modern web browser to access) and iTunes 11.0.5 from this post from several years ago, which has both the 64 and 32 bit versions. https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/1muutk/direct_adfree_legit_from_apple_download_links_for/
Click Jailbreak, plug your device in, and make sure you select the Hacktivate option. Now, turn off your device and place it in DFU.

Make sure to allow VMWare to access anything related to the iPhone (anything labeled as Apple). This can be configured in VMWare’s settings.
