Dont use a vm
DelayOTA is a process of upgrading to versions for up to 90 days after a new version is released. With Dahlia you can extend this period for a few more days.
DelayOTA is mainly used for companies to upgrade to versions more later than usual, these guides just help normal users achieve the same thing.
Note
- You cannot downgrade using DelayOTA
- You can find what DelayOTA versions are available here
- This won't work if you futurerestored with a SEP that's newer than the version you're trying to go to.
- This won’t work for betas!
I believe dahlia is still working so I suggest delay ota updating to 15.4.1 instead
do i have to use delay otas even know i have all the blobs saved?
and what can i use besides a VM? i only have a windows computer
You dont have to but I suggest against going 15.4 since it had batter drain issues
You can live boot ubuntu if you want to use fr
alright ill try live booting it then and then ill try going to 15.4.1 do u think using a VM is the reason im getting error "device did not reconnect in recovery mode. Possibly invalid iBEC. Reset device and try again"
Probably
alright ill try to live boot then
Live boot not really recommended tbh
imo your better off just dualbooting ubuntu and giving the ubuntu data partition like 40gb
Someone go make a bootable iso like odysseyn1x that is specifically for fr
ill just try dualbooting and see if it fixes my problem
just dont screw up and ruin your windows install
lmfao ill try not to its been a min since i dualbooted i gotta figure this shit out all over again
well I just duelbooted ubuntu and installed everything and it worked flawlessly. Im on IOS 15.4.1. I wish I knew this before it would've saved me 12 hours of raging and I was so close to saying fuck it and updating to 15.6 but thank y'all for telling me to do that. I wouldn't think that the VM would prevent me from restoring.
Good you got it! VM has issues because of how it fordwares physical devices via drivers instead of direct acces to it. I too had that issue and with dualboot got it working flawlessly. Don't forget to close your ticket!
