Yeah the issue isn’t the USB-Stick, the issue is that I only got devices with AMD CPU‘s. My main desktop as well as my laptops only have AMD CPU‘s so I‘m forced to jailbreak it through the PC of my gf which lives a bit further from me.

Hey! I’m trying to install Palera1n on my iPhone 8 running iOS 16.7.12, but I can’t get the Loader app to appear. I used Ventoy to make my USB bootable and set it as the first boot option on my Windows PC. I followed all the steps, tried both with and without FakeFS, and DFU mode seems to work since the terminal detects it. My iPhone shows “palera1n” for a second and then reboots, but the Loader never shows up. Any idea what I’m doing wrong or how to fix this?

When using checkra1n/palera1n on the iPhone 8/X running iOS 14 or later, you will not be able to use any of the following SEP features in a jailbroken state:

Additionally, if you’ve ever enabled a Passcode on iOS 16 on the iPhone 8/X, you’ll need to erase all content and settings in order to successfully jailbreak with palera1n. Temporarily disable your antivirus if it is flagging the files needed for installing TrollStore and/or jailbreaking. It may also intervene with the sideloading process

To keep the file in Chrome, you can press the 3 dots in the menu bar then press downloads or navigate to chrome://downloads, press the 3 dots on that file, "Keep dangerous Download" twice.

For Windows Defender, disabling real-time protection should be sufficient.

You should re-enable it after you jailbreak your phone.

Modern antiviruses or browsers will detect applications like TrollInstallerX or Dopamine as viruses/malware. They are only flagged due to the exploits used to install TrollStore or jailbreak.

Temporarily disable your antivirus if it is flagging the files needed for installing TrollStore and/or jailbreaking. It may also intervene with the sideloading process

To keep the file in Chrome, you can press the 3 dots in the menu bar then press downloads or navigate to chrome://downloads, press the 3 dots on that file, "Keep dangerous Download" twice.

For Windows Defender, disabling real-time protection should be sufficient.

You should re-enable it after you jailbreak your phone.

If you're unable to restore rootfs the normal way, you can do it from a terminal (e.g. NewTerm or SSH).

If your device terminal prompts you a password, its gonna be alpine

When using checkra1n/palera1n on the iPhone 8/X running iOS 14 or later, you will not be able to use any of the following SEP features in a jailbroken state:

• Passcode
• Touch ID/Face ID
• Apple Pay

Additionally, if you’ve ever enabled a Passcode on iOS 16 on the iPhone 8/X, you’ll need to erase all content and settings in order to successfully jailbreak with palera1n. Disabling it in settings only will not work and you must fully factory reset. If you wish to restore from a backup, then backup with the passcode disabled and reset.

If you want to jailbreak then go ahead and jailbreak. It might take some while till a new kernel exploit is found that allows for a jailbreak.

The downsides are that on palera1n you must disable passcode and have your phone factory reset if you had a passcode before.
