hello guys. I instaled palera1n because the way I undestood it is that it will allow me to upgrade iPhone 7 to iOS 16/17/18 which are unavailable to my phone normally. I want it just to be able to use regular apps which discontinued support for 15. I tried betaprofiles, but they do not install.

1. can I do anything to have access to apps that discontinued support of their older versions?
2. is there anything useful that this tweak allows for a regular user (not a geek)? or just nice themes??

How do I know if I have piracy?

When I used Palera1n rootless it showed it worked by displaying the app when It booted but when you restart the device the app disappears.
Also no tweaks worked that were installed from Sileo and zebra showed completely nothing

When I tried installing rootfull process completes but nothing shows up on the Home Screen

i did some searching here and couldn’t find a definitive answer, so i was wondering if anyone could give me a hand.

i’ve been trying to jb my phone with palera1n -f for the last hour or so without any success, and i’m not sure what i’m missing. honestly, i’m a bit confused if this ios is even supported at this point, because on appledb under 15.8.4, i see that it is.

also, i’ve attached a screenshot of the palera1n terminal window, so you guys can take a look.

any suggestions or pointers would be much appreciated.

If you are on iOS 15 now, there is no reason to use palera1n with rootful. Dopamine is semi untethered compared to palera1n which is semi tethered.

copy the download_deps.sh

to the palera1n folder

and run it

to download and install the deps

I got many erros and had to use chatgpt at this point tho

But there are the steps

basically making sure to install all deps

Then running this command in terminal

make

make command will compile the palera1n code

Once compiled, you can use it

You will know if it worked when you attempt to jailbreak you get the purple and white palera1n splash screen before it boots up

You will also need to download separately the dev files to get 18.4+ to work and reference them in palera1n when doing the jailbreak

So these.

Pongo.bin.development
checkra1n-kpf-pongo.development
ramdisk.development.dmg

Then when all done you would run this command. Make sure you have all the files. And make sure the paths are modified to the spots you have them.

palera1n -l -k /root/palera1n/pongo/Pongo.bin.development -r /root/palera1n/pongo/ramdisk.development.dmg -K /root/palera1n/pongo/checkra1n-kpf-pongo.development

And that’s it

As I noted , using this latest version method for 18.4+ the palera1n app won’t show up. You will need to use the shortcuts app to launch it.

To know if it did in fact jailbreak you would see a purple and white palera1n splash screen right before it boots

So I'm running paenn1x on windows PC, used ventoyand put Palen1x on there, when i booted first time i didn't use "disable secure boot"

so it throw me security error

Now I downloaded venoty again, put palen1x on the usb stick again disable scure boot and set usb disk number 1. boot priority order, but whenever I save and exit it boots in normal windows and the usb stick option is gone after that

If you guys want to rootful jailbreak your device without needing to use 15 GB of storage, use bindfs instead of fakefs in palen1x. Bindfs only uses 2 GB of storage!
