I read that tss could use the build manifest file to save blobs; however, I’m exactly going to download a 8gb ipsw just for the build manifest file

However, apple has changed their url for their ipsw and the partialzipbrowser script throws an error when I use the new ipsw url

What's a blob?
They're like golden tickets, but instead a digital signature made by Apple that was saved at the time when the signing window was open. If you possess one (or many), keep them safe.

How do they work?
They can be used in a program called futurerestore to restore to a firmware in which the SEP/Baseband is compatible. To check SEP/Baseband compatibility, check /tag sepbb.

Make sure to not use misleading sites. Stick to reputable sites like ios.cfw.guide and AppleDB.

Regardless of SEP/Baseband compatibility, any/all blobs should be saved for future downgrading abilities.

Can I use other people’s blobs?
No. Blobs are a file containing a special key specifically for that one device to allow downgrading to a specific firmware. Due to the way they work, only Apple can create them for your own device.

Can I save them now?
It depends. Blobs can be saved at any time while they are signed, and it is crucial to save them when Apple releases new firmware, because they can only be saved for versions that are currently signed. There is one exception to this: if you are jailbroken and Apple has unsigned the version you're currently on, you may save onboard blobs for that version. If you are not jailbroken you cannot save blobs for an unsigned version.

I did forget I’m running this install on AMD chips. I tried it on my main PC and that did not work however with my laptop running an A6 chip it DID work the first couple of times. So I’m doing a fresh install with a different hard drive

I would suggest to try redoing everything.

1. remake the palera1nX flash drive. make sure get latest iso etc and load it properly using etcher or similar.

2. do a full factory reset on the ipad. Maybe even do a DFU itunes restore. you would have to put your device in DFU mode then connect to computer and open itunes. it will mention device is in dfu mode and ask if you want to do a restore. This would be a better restore then a normal one.

oh also @valid grove the aim issue was partially my fault because I didn't realize that libsparkcolourpicker on havoc does not support your ios but libsparkcolourpicker on the developers repo does. I know I said AIM doesn't support your iOS but you can try adding https://sparkdev.me/

I have Linux booting on my iPhone 8, What partitions are okay to edit? I have a few available that I can modify to get a "root filesystem" on, but idk which ones are safe to edit since I still want the ability to be able to restore to an iOS version.

/dev/nvme0n1p1 seems to be an apfs partition, no clue what's on it other than some core iOS files. (Posterboard.app, SOSHelper.app, etc.)
