Hi! I did the jailbreak on an iPhone 8 with iOS 16.7.7 following the palera1n doc (rootless, just running the executable without arguments) on a M1 macbook

I can see palera1n on the home screen but im not able to install sileo. Once i press sileo inside palera1n, it loads and asks for a password. After I input it, it says Sileo was installed, but never appears

I tried the utilities for respring, uicache and open sileo, but none of them made it appear

I've successfully run the palera1n rootful jb on 6 devices so far (2x iPhone 6s, 2x iPhone 7s, 1x iPhone SE 1, and 1x iPad Mini 1), but for some reason it always fails when trying to run it on an iPhone 8 iOS 16.7.7.

It gets stuck in a loop of checkPinVoltage: reset and write in the emergency shell.

This occurs after the following error:
APFSVolumeCreate failed: 2 (No such file or directory)

This is the same usb-a to lightning cable that I've used for every other palera1n jb that I've done successfully.

It’s because of AMD’s weird drivers that cause it not to work that well with checkra1n’s/palera1n's exploit. If you’re lucky you can actually successfully manage to jailbreak using checkra1n/palera1n.

Tips to increase successrate:

• Plug your device into your computer's motherboard.
• Use a genuine Apple USB-A to lighting cable.

If you’re stuck on the apple logo please force reboot yourself (see: /tag reboot).

If these don’t work, try to get your hands on another computer (preferably intel), and try to use checkra1n again.

Yes, tweak compatibility for older tweaks may be better than rootless, but many older tweaks can be patched in various ways to work with a rootless setup.

I did a rootful palera1n on ios 15.8.2, does that persist through a phone reboot since my palera1n app isn't present anymore, but I can use sileo, crane etc

I have a very similar issue on rootful

The solution here is to just reinstall the tweak

works every time if i do that

Personally I have this issue every time I re-jailbreak/reboot

./palera1n -f -v -V

replace ./palera1n with the filename of your palera1n executable

-f is for rootful
-v is for verbose boot
-V is for palera1n script verbose

and for logging it i forgot, but it should be simple probably, the same way you'd probably do it in for any other linux command
