I finally got the palera1n to work but i think there wasnt enough room on the device so nothing showed up. I have now restored the phone to the setup page. I am however stuck here as i cant get anywhere now has my apple Id has been disabled and theres no way to get into the phone as far as i know without passing the iphone locked to owner screen, find my phone was turned on so i think this makes it even bigger problem. Is my phone now bricked?

It could've been one of three things:

• you chose Rootful and it actually did run out of storage (in which the solution is to clear up the storage on your device, just use rootless)

hey guys, im new to jailbreaking iphones. My buddy recently gave me an iPhone 8plus that he found in a car he bought. This iPhone has an activation lock on it and of course, neither of us know the apple id associated with said lock. As far as I am aware for me to bypass this lock the iPhone needs to be jailbroken. I tried using palera1n on it and after getting to “booting kernel” the iPhone just booted up straight back into the activation lock. I was wondering weather i did something wrong or maybe palera1n is just not suitable for iPhones with activation lock?

it's certainly real (despite how much they take their jailbreak as a joke) but I would not recommend it to users due to how early it is in development

the dev said themselves, it's a learning experience, if you wanna use a jailbreak that is gonna have frequent updates and is bleeding edge, go ahead. I'd rather stay with a jailbreak that's just gonna work.

That's just to get the meowbrek2 app on your device. You can technically use Sileo to install TrollStore Helper and then use TrollStore to install meowbrek2

They recommend running palera1n rootless and installing Sileo first then you rejailbreak with meowbrek2. meowbrek2 fixes the annoying initproc exited bug

iPhone 8 with 16.3.1. I used Palera1n V2.0.0 beta 7 . You load Palera1n-macOS-Universal. Use rootless solution, Terminal window : sudo chmod +x /Downloads/Palera1n-macos-universal. Then terminal window : sudo Downloads/Palera1n-macos-universal. Wait few seconds and Palera1n will appear.

Do that after an erase of contents and settings, of course. And No password.

in ios 15 apple made a new thing (ssv or smth)
and it broke rootful, rootful palera1n isn't true rootful and its just a fake rootful with a fake file system, known as fakefs, it takes multiple gigabytes which breaks older devices while takes up to 10gb on ios 16 devices, its also less stable due to how it works, also it cannot be used semi-untethered like how meowbrek2 works, since it requires a computer to use rootful.
Over all rootful is better on ios 14>
But on ios 15+ rootless is better as well as rootless is less likely to cause stuff like bootloops/bricking your device, as it doesn't edit the root.
Most stuff that needs rootful can be made on rootless anyway, except a few exceptions that needs something specifically from the root of the system.

Okay I have tried several times on I8 with 16.7.4. I have windows with palen1x on flash drive. I have attempted many times to load on i8. Sounds like you might be on a phone with an A9 chip. This happens to me as well and it's normal. After you enter the palera1n command, you need to:

1. In the terminal window, press Control + C on your keyboard
2. Rerun the command: palera1n -e thid_should_crash=0

Also during the initial jailbreak process sometimes iTunes will launch. Just quit iTunes if it does.

If you have a spare device perhaps insert the SIM into it then turn on wifi hotspot so both your linux box and the phone you're trying to jailbreak have a constant internet connection. I jb a 1st gen SE which only had wifi and no SIM.

As i said the device enters DFU mode and everything is fine until the part where it needs to enter download mode the device simply shuts off. I tried reconnecting the device, turning it on manually and using usb-c and usb-a.

So I'm using AutoTouch with my iPhone 7+ running palera1n and it works well for the most part I'd say - but sometimes, my app freezes, along with the script. The only way to solve it is to stop the script manually and restart my app. And then of course, reopen the app and start the script again.

Any ideas why? I have a bad feeling it might just be the device is old and doesn't work too well.
