you have to remove vnodebypass

if you are not able to then :

1. open filza and go to /var/lib/dpkg/info/
2. search for vnodebypass in the searchbar and delete all the files that have vnodebypass in it
3. next navigate to /var/cache/apt/archives/ and do the same thing (it is not a problem if there are no files of vnodebypass in here)
4. last go to sileo and remove vnodebypass and respring

and if you are not able to and dont have filza:

1. open terminal and type "su root" and put in your password, default is alpine
   2 type in "cd /var/lib/dpkg/info/"
2. type "ls -l kr.xsf1re.vnodebypass*" (name in the error)(you have to type the *)
3. type "rm kr.xsf1re.vnodebypass*"(you have to type the *)
4. type "cd /var/cache/apt/archives/" and do the same 2 commands before (again its okay if no files come up)
5. open sileo and remove vnodebypass

Evidently a common error but unplugging/replugging after 'Checkmate!' isn't fixing it. Tried a bunch of different timings too.

Ok. First you should read the instructions carefully. If your app desapear just after you have entered the command, it's normal because the "mv" command mean "mouve". So if the app disappear from your folder it to magically appears in another. But if really like it in this folder, change the "mv" to "cp" so the app will be copied instead of moved. 😉. Also try to erase everything/restore with the tool inside ...General/Erase your iPhone. Also off any virus program as it may interfere with the jb. Good luck.

please note that i have an iphone 7 plus, a10, on 15.7.5!
& i successfully did a rootless jailbreak via palera1n, then restored rootfs to revert, before trying a rootful jailbreak,
afterward, with enough storage, i tried a rootful with fakefs repeatedly via palen1x,
though, my iphone seems to boot normally without sileo or zebra installing,
even when trying to run on the latest palen1x, 1.0.9 & trying on 1.0.8,
may i please ask for any advice? & thank you for all your help, i appreciate it!

well, normally it shouldn't happen unless the rootfs snapshot is explicitly modified by something, but there is some unknown thing causing it to break randomly on palera1n sometimes - all we know so far is that the rootfs snapshot disappears and some files from the rootfs also disappear, but no common cause found so far, it just happens sometime while the device is booted and then triggers a recovery loop once it's rebooted for whatever reason

you can backup a full disk image if jailbroken but you can't exactly restore it as-is bc of sep anti-replay token and such

and a disk image of /var (user data) would probably be useless bc encrypted by sep, you're better off doing a file-level backup of that while unlocked

i just told you that you can't exactly restore such disk images because of the anti-replay token... so it's only really useful for research, you'd still have to either restore to a signed version normally or use futurerestore if you have blobs and the sep/bb/etc is compatible

If you’re on AMD/Ryzen, you may be encountering a few issues when using checkra1n or palera1n. This can vary between freezes and straight up crashes. It’s because of AMD’s weird drivers that cause it not to work that well with checkra1n’s/palera1n's exploit. If you’re lucky you can actually successfully manage to jailbreak using checkra1n/palera1n.

Tips to increase successrate:

• Plug your device into your computer's motherboard.
• Use a genuine Apple USB-A to lighting cable.

If you’re stuck on the apple logo please force reboot yourself (see: /tag reboot).

If these don’t work, try to get your hands on another computer (preferably intel), and try to use checkra1n again.

could maybe try entering dfu mode manually (plug it in, hold both home button and sleep button for 10 seconds, then let go of sleep button and keep holding home button for 10 more seconds)

then maybe it'll pick it up

the first steps that palera1n and palen1x do are guiding you to enter DFU mode by telling which buttons to press at which times, so if you enter DFU manually without the instructions then it'll just pick up at the next step
