hi - i have an iphone 8. think i have followed instructions right to jailbreak with Palera1n. but my phone will not stay in DFU long enough. restarts at various points in install. cleared data off phone and disabled the Find Phone as instructedd. also tried downgrading to 15.6 from 16.2 but cannot stay in DFU long enough to even complete that. once i got to the reboot phase. but at that point i could not get it back in DFU mode..... tried diff cables, macs, and even a second iphone 8 spare.... same thing. must be doing something wrong?

I'm slowly going insane - I keep running into "Connecting to usbmuxd failed, terminating." loop which seems to be pretty common on Linux and caused by usbmuxd not being elevated as root. However I'm notably using macOS instead which makes no mention of restarting usbmuxd as root and I'd have no idea how to go about doing so. Also no idea why it wouldn't be so not entirely sure what the issue even is. Am I missing some unmentioned prerequisite or something, or am I just being dumb?

It will prompt you to put it in DFU, but it puts it into recovery mode first (if you run the script with it on) which fixes some errors with it booting too early and stuff

Back when I used checkra1n on my old phone, it wasn't a major inconvenience at all. I went home frequently from classes so I would always have opportunities to re-jailbreak, even though it was stable enough that I didn't need to most of the time. At the time, I preferred it over unc0ver (but this was before TrollStore existed). I can't speak much about the stability of palera1n but semi-tethered jailbreaks are cool in my book

restored rootfs twice and rejailbroke only to be left with the same error in sileo / zebra. mobilesubstrate not found when installing tweaks, apt errors. cant refresh sources. ssh'd and ran the dpkg configure -a and respring and no difference. cant install any tweaks.

I keep getting a successful outcome during the jailbreak process, but when my phone boots... it does not respring after 30 seconds, and there is no palera1n app. I've tried a few times with the same result. After the 1st time finished, the process is very quick. Log attached. Thanks!

Pretty nice. Except the odd issue here and there like with filza. Seems like quite a few tweaks still need updating so ive had to force restart and install palera1n couple times. The main tweaks i use work so im happy. Probably want to make sure the ones you care about are working
