If you did “Upgrade All” within Sileo after jb, probably diskdev-cmds got updated, messing up your jb. But I’m just guessing here.

If palera1n and Sileo is launching without a problem, jb might be all good btw.

You can try “Do All” within palera1n app (available when you hit the gearbox icon) as well.

What is there to be solved? It looks like the installation went through. Check on your package manager (Sileo) and see if your package installed.

Otherwise, try opening the .deb file into Sileo using a file manager (Filza). There could be some missing critical dependencies, but the terminal should’ve alerted you have that been the case.

So I’m having trouble putting my iPhone X on 15.1 in to DFU mode. The troubleshooting guide on cfw mentions that you need iTunes of some sort for it to work. I remember checkra1n being able to do it without iTunes though. Is there a way I can put my device in to DFU mode without leaving ubuntu or can I somehow use the DFU mode enabled in windows in ubuntu?

I’m afraid not. I hardly use theme-related tweaks. Also, I shouldn’t really be helping you since I don’t use palera1n, but I try to be as helpful as possible with what I learned with the current jailbreak scene.

Also, I saw that you were using Cydia. I think you were hostilely Sileosplained, and although it’s for the better of your device, I’ll give you a more sober take on it:

Cydia has not been actively maintained and paid tweaks are no longer purchasable there. You can use it, but it’s more appropriate for older, legacy devices like an iPhone 4 or iPad 2.

That is why you are encouraged to use more recent package managers like Sileo and Zebra, to ensure proper jailbreak functionality and avoid breakage.

I've finally got the jb running (sooooo many attempts 🤦🏼‍♂️), and have got Sileo installed. I've got around the issue of the app icons using the shortcut method @silent anchor posted earlier (thanks mate!) and that's ok for running palera1n and Sileo, but when I went to run Filza (again, through shortcuts) it'll flash up a white screen and then go back to the homescreen immediately.

Have I missed something obvious?

so i realized the exploit needed to JB my phone is palera1n, only problem is that idk how to dual boot linux from windows 10 (so clients like ubuntu and all of that)

i've tried using stuff like booting off of USB and just clicking the "try ubuntu" thing

but it just gave me a mess of random colors and a few errors
