reason I asked is that Odysseyra1n and Odyssey both offer shshd which would automatically save blobs as long as you’re in a jailbroken state

I tried Odysseyra1n. That was a mistake. I used it for 3 weeks and had to get rid of it. It had too many problems, and a couple of my favorite tweaks didn't function on it.

Going to 14.3-14.8 will break Face ID until you go to 15.4+ and will also break a couple other things (though those are fixable)
Going to 15.0-15.3.1 will break Face ID until you go to 15.4+
Going to 15.4+ should be fine (as long as you use 15.6 RC SEP/Baseband)

One tweak that I like a lot is AnsweringMachine XS. On Odyssey no matter what i hit, or even if i didn't hit anything at all, it would just answer the phone heh. I tried a lot of things to make that work, including a complete reinstall of everything including the jailbreak. When i went back to checkra1n, it worked properly again.

According to the palera1n.sh script, the file ".fs-Ipad5,4" gets created with the command echo"$disk" > .fs-"$deviceid" during the Jailbreaking phase. For some reason it doesnt. Anyone had the same error or has a clue?

Thank you for this jailbreak. It worked like a charm on Arch Linux and iPhone SE 2016 with ios 15.7.2. I had issues with the serial connection (Connecting to usbmuxd failed, terminating.) even though I stopped usbmuxd service and started with sudo /usr/sbin/usbmuxd -f -p in a separate terminal before starting palera1n. But restarting usbmuxd fixed the issue and the jailbreak finished successfully, so I think this should be added to the FAQ.

I erase any jailbreak files, then made a backup with icloud, then put the phone in dfu mode and restore with iTunes, use the backup, and then palera1n

So I erase jailbreak, then backup with icloud

put the phone in dfu and restore with itunes

enable Developer mode (just in case)

run the palera1n in linux

and it finally respring

For anyone that has the following issue when trying to re-jailbreak after an iTunes iPhone restore:

For some reason it stops here after about 10 seconds and the phone won't boot at all. I had to run sudo ./palera1n.sh --restorerootfs 15.7.2
It restored the original system.
Then I had to run sudo ./palera1n.sh --tweaks 15.7.2 and it did a successful jailbreak then.

on linux you have to add sudo at the start of the command, otherwise it won't be able to connect in recovery.

So one thing you can do to force it to see the connected device is make sure you have the libimobiledevice-utils package installed then run the command idevicepair pair @floral raven

As for just getting it connected make sure you are:
Shutting down usbmuxd with sudo systemctl stop usbmuxd
Then i would run a apt-get update and upgrade to make sure they are good.
Then try sudo usbmuxd -f -p
Plug device in, run idevicepair pair and it should register as connected. Switch terminals and run the install. Thats as far as ive gotten and its failing on me, so maybe im doing it wrong anyway.

Jailbroken phone ran fine for a day (I installed DVirtualHome [without home button configured, it keeps respringing the device], CCSupport, CCModules and Hestia). Then I put it to charger (it did charge yesterday just fine) and now support.apple.com/iphone/restore screen appears, it won't even boot, even if I do a force restart with home + power button. This is not good. I had to restore my phone 2 times in a row in the last 2 days. A rebooting phone to unjailbroken state is one thing, but a temporarily unusable phone is a more serious one. By the way I always used the tethered mode (without --semi-tethered flag), because I hardly have 10 GB free space on the phone. Could this be the issue why it won't even boot after a crash?

I tried installing a tweak to hide jailbreak files to make some of my apps and games containing a "jailbreak protection" run

now I'm stuck with a not working app icon and this error opening at startup each time

I cannot reinstall neither uninstall it
