Ok so I ended up deleting all the palera1n folders on my mac. I recloned it and was able to get my ipad into dfu mode. Started jailbreak it was going along good had the little icon on my ipad then it was saying waiting for connection then my ipad restarted

For users on Ubuntu 22.04 Jammy Jellyfish or Linux Mint 21+
Ubuntu 22.04 (which Mint 21 is based on) removes libssl1.1 and replaces it with libssl3. ideviceinfo and ideviceenterrecovery bundled with palera1n were not compiled to support it. This causes the related error when attempting to jailbreak.

Your options to fix it are to obtain a statically linked version of both binaries, use an older release of your distro, or manually install libssl1.1 that was made for an older release of Ubuntu.

if you are running a live version of Linux, you will need to reinstall this every time you boot into it as changes do not persist.

iirc palera1n doesn't have a ssh server/bootstrap by default like checkra1n does with dropbear

after many many attempts and searches I actually was able to get my Sileo app to finally show up on my jb device

all the IOCreatePluginInterfaceForService errors are on stderr and not stdout so it still works (stderr is file descriptor 2, so 2 is sent to /dev/null)

you can silence the errors by replacing system_profiler SPUSBDataType with system_profiler SPUSBDataType 2> /dev/null in palera1n.sh

run git pull to make sure you're on the latest version, errors have been silenced

Because using linux was the special thing that I had to do in my part, but all of the steps are listed in ios cfw guide, just ignore the part where you need to put the device into DFU mode prior to doing the command line to install palera1n., just connect your cellphone (powered on) to the computer and the jailbreak will tell you what to do.

Oh and this step helped me immensely, because on the first day, the phone wasn’t being detected by the jailbreak. I tried this on the 2nd day and boom!
