i read rumours that you could put checkrain on a usb or something and jailbreak just from a usb is this actually true? I dont have a laptop anymore so i cant jailbreak as my computer is in a totally different room lol

Unless the USB is a miniature linux-running 'puter, then no because the USB needs some way to execute code and simply loading it on a flash drive without a processor or a USB interface to work with.. it'll be impossible by itsself

Since checkra1n for tvOS 14 is released, the bootstrap hasn't been updated to work.

What this means is, despite the exploits working, you won't be able to install nitoTV and the repos/tweaks properly.

Until this gets fixed, I highly recommend anyone with an Apple TV 4/4K to stay on 13 until things get fixed. Thank you!```

One big reason is the inability to semi untether... Checkra1n is fine but having reprovision is a big plus (especially when the USB ports decide to not work)

As for JIT I'm currently playing around with that, but it seems to not be as effective as iOS

If I change the DNS on my laptop to that DNS and try to access http://trailers.apple.com/trailers.cer I get the apple The page you’re looking for can’t be found. page but without any images or styling.

So, I installed the jailbreak on apple tv 3 under system 7.5, but nitotv seems to be extremely unstable, if I open it and move to the weather tab... it crashes, if I try to update anything.... it crashed. Could anyone suggest a fix

The steps to get extra space using stashing is as follows:
ssh into your ATV3 as root
make the stash directory: mkdir /var/stash
stash the /Applications directory: cd /; mv Applications /var/stash/Applications; ln -s /var/stash/Applications .
That's it.
.
Doing just the above will give you over 300MB free on /
I also stashed the following directories:
/usr/bin
/usr/include
/usr/share
/usr/local (Note that this doesn't exist by default but some deb packages install to /usr/local, may as well set up the stash and symlink

@lone lance restore root fs doesn't exist in iOS 7/8... Wasn't introduced until APFS was created for iOS 11. Your only hope is to iTunes restore
