- immediately after it powers off for hard reset, not even .1 seconds later, hold vol down + side together

if you have blobs, you can futurerestore to 14.3-14.5.1 if you have an X this will break Face ID, but it doesn’t break Touch ID on the 8/8+ - also passcode/Apple Pay will still work fine even on the X)

you can use delayed OTA but the lowest you can go to with that is 14.7, which will mean a few months wait until you get a JB with full functionality (passcode, Touch ID/Face ID and Apple Pay)

you can try leaving it for a few more minutes, if it still loops there you can try to force reboot your device and then exit recovery mode (using the button in FRGUI or with irecovery -n) and see if it finishes

Be very patient - I helped someone earlier and it took bloody ages to finally finish - I found that unchecking debug logs argument helps

The issue I was having was iBEC not wanting to send correctly. Right after iBSS sends to the device properly, I quickly unplug and replug in my device so the USB Stack can be reset.
M1 has many USB problems that apple consider “normal”
Also normal USB-C to lightning cables will not work for dfu mode since they are factory defective. I use a USB-C to USB-A adapter.

M1 isn’t horrible at all. But it does not play well with jailbreak utilities such as futurerestore or checkra1n on certain devices running the latest Big Sur. macOS 11.2.3 was the sweet spot. checkm8 worked best before 11.3. ipwnder32 stopped working after 11.2.3.
