Apple has a special property in the bootrom of the phone which can request the temperature of the battery, if it's in the freezer it's under 0° Celsius which causes integer underflow telling the phone it's at a huge number of degrees, which in an unsigned 32 bit number is 4,294,967,295° C, so since it thinks your phone is at four trillion degrees Celsius it's able to activate the screen which shows the iPhone is too hot message, coincedentally the same space in memory which is overwritten by any modern jailbreak tool, leading to a previously jailbroken iPhone being able to boot in certain circumstances

You can run succession and then I think there's an option in iTunes to restore backup only instead of restoring phone

Plug it in, see if there's a restore backup button. Click it, see if it says "this will only restore the iPhone contacts, calendar, data, apps....but not the iPhone firmware"

In iOS13.3.1, Apple added a new mechanism. Unless launchd_missing_exec_no_panic = 1 is added to boot-args, if you try to control launchd to load a launchdaemon file that does not exist in the corresponding executable, it will cause panic.
