it's better in case you get stuck in a bootloop and you don't have to make sure you have the specific generator set and rather just use the default

but if you don't bootloop it makes no difference bc shsh.host keeps track of the generators on the blobs so you can just set it later before restoring

Thanks, I've been using the "use" function, but I think early on I had to "derive new" to get it to work. It looks like the generator is different than the default value assigned with uncover. I'm assuming I use the generator values from system info for this process (not the 0x111....)?

Oh weird no you're right, blobs saved with Blob Saver on mac don't seem to have a generator (when I checked using verify.shsh.host). My TSSsaver blobs did use the default generator, and System Info used a different generator. Looks like the easiest of the bunch will be the ones saved in TSSsaver (default 0x111... generator)

• My futurerestore compile script supports compiling futurerestore 192 on Ubuntu 20.04, 20.10, and now also Fedora 33 (link: https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/jx0hvc/tutorial_compiling_futurerestore_187_on_linux/)
• Ubuntu-based distros like Linux Mint 20 will also work with the script
• Arch users and those on Arch-based distros like EndeavourOS can get futurerestore-marijuanarm-git from the AUR (this will get the latest version from git, which is 192)

then, navigate back to the ipsw (which should be open in an archive viewer), open "Firmware", and extract the "ICE" file whose name matches the one you noted a moment ago
