okay after some further research, 14.2 seems to be the lowest version compatible with the latest SEP version, but ONLY on A10 and below. A11 and above, please don't try, just go to 14.3 or 14.3RC

You don't need to update to use the latest jailbreaks. They'll work on 13 too. Downgrading is mainly for those whom are stuck on 14.4 or higher. If anything, restore root fs and re-jailbreak for a smooth transition

@everyone here’s a simple guide:

1. if you are on iPhone X (A11) or under you can use checkrain
2. if you are on XS (A12) or higher and DO NOT have blobs you cannot change iOS to 14.3. You are stuck on whatever iOS you are on.
3. if you DO have blobs and are on A13, you need to wait for it to be upgraded.
4. If you have a device below A12 AND you have blobs for 14.3, you can upgrade. I do not have a link to a good guide.

I have confirmed that the --latest-sep and --latest-baseband options of futurerestore are completely broken on Windows. For some reason the SEP and baseband they download are slightly corrupted, probably a problem with libfragmentzip, always use manual files on Windows!
