did you pay for it?
noo

yoooo is that paidd??
yes
then maybe the above one
oh hell noo i installed it from cydia search list
yeah, from a pirated source
and added it to cydia from some website
some website = pirate
youtube = huge on piracy
but that was the 3rd try on noctis 12
restore 12.4.9, but backup first
it crashed the first time on installing simple tweaks no 3rd party inbuilt cydia
then re-jb clean and don't follow youtube
no 3rd party tweaks only inbuilt cydia tweaks*
how do i rejailbreak without following Youtube
omgggg
just figuredd

I'm using checkra1n from some bich indian youtuber
it's edited from himmmmm
omgg
btw no offence im indian too
I'll rejailbreak from the real checkra1n from their websitee
ugh
can we make this not about checkra1n and keep it futurerestore plz?
resolution: restore via itunes and rejb
done
okay but can i jailbreal using future store?
no.
cause i do that using checkra1n na?
futurerestore doesn't provide jailbreaking support
anyways thanks mann I'll give this thing a shot and see what pops up!
ok
tysm!!!!!
btw if you're saying it's just gonna get fixed restoring via itunes and rejbking it just won't work did exctly that 3+ times and now for the 4th time
off to workk
Wouldnt --latest-sep and --latest-baseband just grab the latest compatible baseband for that device/ios ?
I think it just grabs the latest signed one
i wanna update to 13.6.1/13.7 so bad lol
Hello^^, is it possible to downgrade from iOS 14, with the appropriate files (shsh blobs), to iOS 13.7 or 13.5 ?
Unless its a wifi only device, no
iPhone 7 GSM 9,3
nope, not possible
isn't there a way, to set up a bot/auto message, that would tell people what's actually possible, before asking questions?
Oh ok.. thanks anyway^^
so updating from 13.4->13.7 isn't possible?
not possible on cellular devices
Can I update iOS 13.5 to iOS 14.1 with blobs?
Is it worth updating rn?
Or should I wait
Does this mean I can restore my iPad Air 3 WiFi to 13.7 with valid blobs?
I'm jailbroken on 13.5 currently
Yes

Ok i wanted to downgrade my ios version
But no versions are signed by apple so oof
Im having issues on ubuntu "requested 'libgeneral >=39' but version of libgeneral is 33" any idea on how to fix?
you need to compile tihms libgeneral

hi
How can I use futurerestore for my 5s
I want to go to ios 10.3.3
I have custom ipsw
@celest basalt won't work.. Use Vieux
10.3.3
only that
yes
Hey guys, I'm looking for libirecovery-1.0.3.dylib where can i find or compile it, please
going to try compile this again. it fails compiling the dependencies, going to update to OS 10.13.6 and Xcode 10.1 and see if I have more luck
Ians-iMac:project ianporteous$ /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/libplist.pc
-bash: /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/libplist.pc: Permission denied
any idea why I get permission denied?
@neat flower prolly forgot to sudo
ok here is where I get errors:
cd ./libinsn
./autogen.sh
sudo make install
cd ..
the sudo make install
fatal error: too many errors emitted, stopping now [-ferror-limit=]
4 warnings and 20 errors generated.

Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
please guys, been trying for two days to compile this (for someone who's never owned a mac before)
@neat flower works better without Mojave > *
do you have homebrew?
yes i do, I have everything needed in above tutorial. it just fails on making the libinsn
where'd you clone libinsn from?
the above tut
i get errors doing that also. exact same error as the make install
someone on reddit sovled it by getting a prebuilt libinsn and placing it in /usr/local
but I can't find a preBuilt one
any chance you could send yours from your /usr/local? please
I'm so desperate to just downgrade to 4.1 then I can rest. I got blobs and baseband, sep all ready to go. just can't compile this. stuck on this step.
what device is it?
iphone x
nonce set already
woah really?
Would you be able to upload the compiled libinsn so I can at least try please?
yeah..
would be amazing if you could
As i can't compile liboffsetfinder64 without libinsn, so if anyone could just upload that file to here, then I can continue
@vivid nova I followed the website you gave me, as I try the final steps to compile futurerestore i get this error:
checking for libirecovery-1.0 >= 1.0.0... no
configure: error: Package requirements (libirecovery-1.0 >= 1.0.0) were not met:
No package 'libirecovery-1.0' found
Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.
Alternatively, you may set the environment variables libirecovery_CFLAGS
and libirecovery_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.
I have compiled librecovery, i believe it's version 0.2.0 though.
Ah, compile libirecovery from https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libirecovery
0.2 is well outdated
😲 it's nearly compiled !! on the final steps.. make! 🤞
Cool
so close, yet i get error on 'make'
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
any idea why :(?
overwrite
replaced anyway
make a backup
still same error
😩
is this a dependency error?
/usr/local/include/libgeneral/macros.h:55:13: error: expected "FILENAME" or
<FILENAME>
yes, and again to be sure
which one did you compile?
git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libgeneral
what does this do:
cp -r ./xpwn/includes/* /usr/local/include
cp: ./xpwn/includes/*: No such file or directory
really wanted to get back to iOS 4.1 with my saved blobs.. came so close to compiling futurerestore. Going to have to call it a night. feel defeated. thank you for trying to help me, I followed every step of each tutorial and can't get passed the last hurdle. I will offer $50 if someone can compile this for me and have a working futurerestore.
@neat flower here's futurerestore 187 compiled for High Sierra by me:
did it fresh on a VM
😲 going to back on the mac
brb!!! Thank you so much!!
dyld: Symbol not found: ____chkstk_darwin

Abort trap: 6
are you on big sur?
you can try a virtual machine HS
yes
ok brb rebooting
back, going to get HS for virtualbox
downloading 6gb HS
will i need to install all the dependencies to run futurerestore?
Ok awesome, will let know when I have HS running in Vm
it's harder than i thought to get HS running on a VM. just got it to the start up screen now 😳
oof
yeah, ran into more problems, following a new tutorial to get HS on VMware on windows. 3am here. got work tomorrow too
awesome! finally booted and on the desktop
now to install the dependencies, will I need xcode and home brew etc to be installed first?
ok, any chance you know which version of xcode works on 10.13.6 ?
10.1 i think
downloading xcode 6gb
10.1 is the best
you don't even need xcode
just the command line tools @neat flower
xcode-select --install
Sorry, I have no clue about mac's untill the last few days trying to compile future... is their a quicker way to just get the command line tools? instead me downloading full xcode?
installing now
then /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install.sh)"
i'll give you the commands one by one @neat flower
just gotta copy/paste
then wait
ok thank you, almost done installing the command line tools
installing this now
after homebrew is installed...
brew install automake autoconf libtool pkg-config
git clone https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libirecovery && cd ./libirecovery && bash autogen.sh && make install
give it time to install... then:
git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libcrippy && cd ./libcrippy && bash autogen.sh && make install
Also:
git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libfragmentzip && cd ./libfragmentzip && bash autogen.sh && make install
and:
git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libpartialzip && cd ./libpartialzip && bash autogen.sh && make install
before compiling futurerestore, you'll need OpenSSL. Here's how to get it:
cd /usr/local sudo mkdir ssl sudo chmod 777 /usr/local/ssl cd git clone https://github.com/openssl/openssl.git cd openssl ./config make make install
and finally:
brew install curl
You don’t need a boot nonce do you to use future restore?
yes you do
is this ok to continue? it said /crippy no such file or dir
ls
then look for it
whoops
i changed it
cd ./libcrippy && bash autogen.sh && make install
rest should be fine
got this error after doing this command
ah, easy fix
git clone --recursive https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libplist.git && cd ./libplist && bash autogen.sh && make install
weird, i done this then retried the previous command, cd ./libcrippy && bash autogen.sh && make install
and still get the error
try this instead:
git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libplist.git && cd ./libplist && bash autogen.sh && make install
just rm -rf ./libplist
first
trying to re-do the command, how do I remove the above folder and go again?
bash autogen.sh && make install
eek 😦
ah, easy fixes coming!
git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libgeneral && cd ./libfragmentzip && bash autogen.sh && make install
this one might throw errors too... just screenshot 'em and send
but you're gettin' there
./autogen.sh && make install
need the correct dir
urgh it wont let me out the dir
did you press space
ls
managed to install libgeneral now.
yep done that
git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libpartialzip && cd ./libpartialzip && bash autogen.sh && make install
doing the openssl now
this one will take time
took me roughly 30 - 45 mins
when you get to make
just let it go
ok will let know when it's done
Ok just finished this
cool
the compile you made should work now?
git clone --recursive https://github.com/marijuanARM/futurerestore && cd ./futurerestore && bash autogen.sh && make install
okay.. getting closer though
haha
git clone --recursive https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libimobiledevice && cd ./libimobiledevice && bash autogen.sh && make install
ha okay.. keep going
git clone --recursive https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libusbmuxd && cd ./libusbmuxd && bash autogen.sh && make install
then compile libimobiledevice
hopefully no "no package" errors
oof okay
git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/img4tool && cd ./img4tool && bash autogen.sh && make install
nooo
you could try using the futurerestore bin i sent
ah, compile libgeneral
can you pass the git for it again please?
git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libgeneral
may as well put in git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/liboffsetfinder64
think i got a problem with libgeneral
Think, i installed libgeneral now, liboffsetfinder is missing libinsn
git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libinsn
cd ./libinsn ./autogen.sh sudo make install
then redo liboffsetfinder
then git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libipatcher && cd ./libipatcher && bash autogen.sh && make install
git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libirecovery && cd ./libirecovery && bash autogen.sh && make install
so many errors installing libinsn
what errors?
oof
same problem i had on my hackintosh
nah
ooo future worked now
it does?!
would libinsn and pathfinder64 cause issues with restore?
as we couldn't install libinsn
it might... but one way to find out
if there are issues, futurerestore will error before executing the restore
ok bro, going to reboot, jailbreak phone with checkra1n and boot back to windows/ Vm and give it a try
most of which is idevicerestore
also set nonce to 0x111111111111111111 etc on phone before i try
brb reboot to jailbreak
jainbroken > copy my files to vm > test restore
sigh
do you have the libimg4tool.0.dylib? i'm sure we installed that?
I have it in the folder. can I have yours to replace mine please?
'bout damn time
so far it seems to be restoring
excellent
w00t!
discord gift
website?
this?
its $50, but is that the correct one?
yeah
awesome
the full one is $100 which is a little high for my budget
but i'm happy to gift you the $50 onw
one
indeed. I wouldn't dish out what you can't afford
no prob. I'm just happy to help and happy to make you happy
you made my worries to get a future JB possible on 4.1. and your help was amazing! well deserved! i couldn't of done it without your help
what does "bash: ./futurerestore: is a directory" mean?
Run cd futurerestore @dusty bramble
how do i do that?
Are you using a terminal?
yes
okay thank you
it says “-bash: cd: futurerestore: No such file or directory”
oh
how do i fix my path?
wait would upgrading to 14.1 with future restore and valid blobs work is sep on 14.1 and 14.2 compatible currently on 13.5 waiting for 14 jailbreak
Always wrong, FutureRestore13.5 upgrade 14.1

Can someone link a working version of future restore for Windows I cant seem to find it anywhere
There isn’t one
Oh do I have to use like a macOS virtual machine then
You need MacOS or Linux to compile the latest Futurerestore.
Will a virtual machine work
I’m not sure
Hm ok
Still wrong
so if I wanted to get on iOS 14.1 now should I upgrade to 14.2 and future restore or just upgrade to 14.1 using blobs? (Currently on 13.4)
and it just segfaults on linux when u actually try to use it (it prints the help message fine)
So I read coolstar's post that people on 14.1 should stay on it, as there is a chance for a jailbreak. was wondering if someone could help me out and guide me on how to use the blobs with future restore or whatever as it is currently unsigned. I saved blobs for 14.1 already. Note: I'm using an iPhone 11 Pro
Can anyone confirm if this is possible
From iOS 13.5 to 14.1
Or will I mess up my phone
If possible, link me a legit video if someone can please
@summer horizon no
Your device has blob entanglement
So you'd have issues with futurerestore
Using blob saver
I'd stay on 13.5
Hmm alright
The lower the better
aite thanks
Can I future restore iPhone XR 13.5 to 14.1 currently?
@vivid nova @fervent garnet have you found a solution for:
Done sending DeviceTree

? I have compile futurerestore on Ubuntu and macOS Catalina without errors. I can my iPad Air 2 wifi only downgrade from 14.2 to 14.1. But I can't futurerestore from 14.2 or 14.1 to 13.7. It ends with the above errors. Have googled the error and found this -> https://therealketo.github.io/futurerestore-guide/error-codes
```Error: unable to receive message from FDR…
- This error can be caused when using an SEP and Baseband that is not compatible with the unsigned firmware you're trying to upgrade, downgrade, or re-restore to.
- Make sure that you know that the SEP and Baseband you use in order to upgrade, downgrade, or re-restore is compatible with your desired unsigned firmware.```
So it seems that the SEP is not compatible. My question is now, who have do a successful restore on a wifi only device from 14.x to 13.4 or above?
How the hell did you get it working on Linux
50 votes and 19 comments so far on Reddit
Its from @night harbor #futurerestore-help message
But with a few fixes. Howerver, it works for me, I only would to know how have successful restore from 14.x to 13.4 or above on a wifi only device.
Can I update with blobs on a windows computer?
Oh my
Guess who got this shit to work
14.2 > 13.7 IPad 7
Gaaaaaaaaang shit
I’m fucking happy
@night harbor ty for your guide
You lucky... 😄
I legit just wiped my Linux install and did it fresh
Step by step
Copy and paste
I might’ve spoke too soon. Lol
Yeah I also compile it without errors. How I say I can restore from 14.2 to 14.1 so I think futurerestore works correctly. But I can't to from 14.x to 13.7...
Haha shit, same as me...
You ended up restoring back to 14.2?
Yeah. Restore to 14.2 and checkrain and go to 14.1.
How long did you wait
Maybe 5 Minutes. Futurerestore gives you a error and stop the restore
Mine hasn’t stopped yet
Just wait.
You can also ctrl+c and then restore with itunes.
Rip
@full osprey DFU or Recoverymode and iTunes restore.
Please, why this happend? using @night harbor compile method for linux, from 14.2 to 14.1 . Thanks
"Unable to extract filesystem from IPSW". Futurerestore can't extract your IPSW.
Ofc future restore on Mac gives me shit too
How can I need libzip and have it installed already?
restoring from 14.1 to 13.7 failed but restoring from 14.2 to 14.1 succeeded. Does this mean that 14.2 sep is incompatible with ios 13?
@celest basalt same as me, whats your error? I think so, but other users like @storm apex said they have test it successful.
https://joshblah555.github.io/JoshTV/SEPCheckr.html? says also that 14.2 SEP is compatible with 13.4 and up.
Would be cool if other users with wifi only devices can test it and give feedback. Maybe with which devices and how they have compile futurerestore, machine (vm or real) etc.
My tests:
Device: iPad Air 2 wifi only
Test 1:
Ubuntu 20.04.1 (real, no vm) compiled without errors -> https://old.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/jx0hvc/tutorial_compiling_futurerestore_187_on_linux/
14.2 -> 14.1 successful
14.2 and 14.1 -> 13.7 failed -> ERROR: Unable to receive message from FDR 0x7fd988001180 (-2). 0/2 bytes
Test 2:
MacOS Catalina 15.5.5 (VMware) compiled without errors (multiple guides to have all requirements)
14.2 -> 13.7 failed -> ERROR: Unable to receive message from FDR 0x7fd988001180 (-2). 0/2 bytes
Same as yours
@subtle cosmos i believe the SEP is compatible for downgrading, but futurerestore has yet to be updated for such
What is iOS 12.4-ota for?
@ocean vine it's an over the air blob. It's saved in the events that you can downgrade to it and yes.. It can be used to restore
How can I need libzip and have it installed already?
@Rick.#7777 brew install libzip
Please, why this happend? using @night harbor compile method for linux, from 14.2 to 14.1 . Thanks
@boreal quarry most likely you've run out of disc space or the ipsw is corrupt
But how we know that the SEP is compatible if there is no futurerestore? So how can people test it? The futurerestore from marijuanArm is updated for iOS 14.
Maybe @storm apex can bring "light in the dark". He said he have already test it.
With your apple tv?
Yes
I have test it with iPad Air 2 wifi only. So there is no baseband.
The FDR messages are failed attempts of Apple sending the "ok" during restore which is why it results in a bootloop; furthermore, Apple is also trying to block it as we try to get around it
The Apple TV isn't a big concern seeing as there's not as much user data as an iOS device, which is why downgrading is rather easy
Ok, so the feedback if the SEP is compatible is only test with apple tv devices?
Mostly, yes
Ah ok. Do you know ifniz was checked that the SEP which is shipped in the tvOS IPSW is the same as in iPadOS/iOS?
Also thanks to clarify this.
Anyone know if there’s a step by step how to use future restore for a12 going from 13.5 to 14.1 with saved blobs?
check pins
@brazen peak a12 has nonce entanglement so unless you have saved blobs that are valid.. You won't be able to get to it
I have saved blobs for 14.1, 2 different ones, one with a generator, and one without. (from blobsaver GUI) will future restore let me update to 14.1 without any issues?
Not doing it now, when jailbreak released if possible
The noapnonce one should work @nova prairie
@vivid nova does it matter or....
i mean can i use either?
or just stick with the one with just my apnonce
The other one is if you've specified an apnonce
The generator allows you to set the nonce
one just didnt save the generator with it
Yes, that would be the apnonce
ok that makes sense
it says “0x11111111111...” in one of mine, in <generator> tags, but in the other it does not. Both have the same apnonce tho. Just trying to get it figured out. Thanks!
@vivid nova oh i also forgot to mention im on A12. Sorry. :/
@subtle cosmos doesn’t seem to work for me either going below 14. I’ve only check 13.7 so far I was thinking of maybe doing 13.6.1 and 13.7 beta as well but I doubt it’ll be much different. I’m on iPad 7th gen WiFi only
Going to 14.1 worked fine tho ofc
Ahh well I'm not sure if I did it correctly, but I've been saving blobs using blobsaver
Futurerestore allows you to upgrade/downgrade to unsigned iOS versions if you meet certain requirements. [Tutorial on Discord](#futurerestore-help message) and tutorial on GitHub
So it seems that downgrade <14.x works only with appletv.
Yeah
Thanks to all you smart people I was able to update my iPhone XR from 13.5 to 14.1 successfully with FaceID working. I posted the steps I used on the subreddit for anyone else wanting to do the same. https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/k13c2l/tutorial_upgrade_to_141_from_135_iphone_xr/
@vivid nova @subtle cosmos thanks for the reply, i just download again the IPSW, then its work.
Sooooo... I do not have a Mac. Is there any way I can compile FutureRestore 187 in some way?
well after I just read above, not version 187, but what new futurerestore fork?
@nova prairie looking for the same answer as you...
futurerestore is only available on mac and maybe linux
So where can I find the newest version of futurerestore that i can run on linux ? 🧐
@nova prairie @raw cipher https://old.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/jx0hvc/tutorial_compiling_futurerestore_187_on_linux/
It uses the updated fork from marijuanARM.
@subtle cosmos Thanks, was about to download ubuntu, your link came at the right time 🙂
Its the tut from @night harbor . He/she have already post it here. So thanks to him/her😉
Yes, i saw the pinned messages, but you brought me some help too 🙂
Maybe this question has been asked a million times but can futurerestore not be compiled for Windows (I remember using it on Windows for iOS 12 or iOS 13) and why won't people share pre-compiled binaries anywhere? EVERYWHERE where someone asks for a pre-compiled binary, instead of an explanation as to why they can't or won't share it, they just point to a tutorial on how to compile yourself. Thanks.
@cyan spruce I don't know exactly, but I mean a compiled version for users and the distributions (macos, linux and win) needs to be crosscompiled with all required binaries in it. When someone share a pre-compiled binary without crosscompile, you also must all required binaries from the tutorials compile yourself to get futurerestore working. So if you must compile the required binaries yourself anyway, you can also compile futurerestore.
Don't know how to crosscompile futurerestore (if it is the right way so users can use it without coompile the requred binaries self). I also would like to have a win version🤷♂️
Correct me if I am wrong.
But don't know where the problem is to compile it yourself. The tut from @night harbor is simple to follow.
the thing is, I don’t have a mac.
You don't need a mac. You can use Linux.
One question, in buildmanifest>root>buildidentities why are there 2 items with the same board config?
which one should I follow
nvm they both lead to the same paths
how do I know if everything went fine after going through all the steps of compiling futurerestore on linux?
You use it
ah ok
it should show something similar to this
btw, if futurerestore fails what can happen? am I forced to restore via itunes? it just exits recovery mode onto the stock os?
The pickles rockin' an acer
For now lol. My cat is like addicted to mac chargers. Ive gone through 2 this year now. Plus been using ipad more and laptops less
Usually that only happens if it disconnects while sending data, if it just fails before the restore starts then nothing really happens
@full osprey your punishment is death
that isn't important IMO
Guys, is 14.2 sep compatible with 14.0 or 13.7? @valid adder
we don't know yet
it is for wifi devices afaik
could be baseband or sep incompat for baseband devices
we have no way to tell
There are different statements/feedback. 14.2 SEP is compatible with 13.4 and up. This was tested on AppleTV and there are successful restores with 14.2 SEP to 13.4 and up. But it seems that this works only on AppleTV. I (and @celest basalt, iPad 6 and @full osprey, on iPad 7) have test it on iPad Air 2 wifi only and there come errors. I can only downgrade to 14.0 with 14.2 SEP. Maybe other users can test it with other wifi only devices. Read the conversation from me and @vivid nova here -> #futurerestore-help message
I tested on iPad 6 WiFi only
I was thinking of testing 13.6.1 and 13.7 beta but I’m pretty sure that wont make a difference. 14.2 SEP just isn’t compatible
Would be cool if you test it. With checkra1n we have good test devices where we can test anything and go back to 14.x if something no work. But how @vivid nova says, the SEP is maybe compatible but futurerestore must be fixed or something else -> #futurerestore-help message
I tested 13.6.1 and it failed
I compiled futurerestore without xcode installed but it still installed futurerestore so can i still downgrade or do I have to re compile it?
@celest basalt xcode isn't required, just the tools
oh thx
-bash: ./futurerestore: No such file or directory```
don't add ./
just futurerestore
the ./ means for the current directory you're in
if you installed it, it'll be just the command itself
-bash: futurerestore: command not found```
sorry im kinda new to this stuff
but i did what you said and this happens
this is what my folder looks like btw
did you compile futurerestore?
yes
when i compiled futurerestore, it gave me all this stuff. what am i suppose to do
it also gave me img4tool and futurerestore folders
but it didn't give me a exec file
i compiled it, and ran this
it says that command not found
@storm apex what i did was pasted the commands in the terminal when I followed the tutorial. "Steps
- Download the attached "project.zip" file and unzip it
- Run each of these commands in Terminal, one-by-one: "
yes
and after when i compiled it, i went to the terminal and typed in futurerestore and i still got this
i will try it again
@storm apex so what i do is I type in make install then run the commands right?
it says nothing about typing in make install. All it says was to download the project.zip file and to run each of these commands in terminal one by one, which i did. I do see something in there that says make sudo make install though.
btw im following this
and im using macos mojave
ok i think i know what i did wrong. It said to run each of the commands ONE BY ONE and i didn't do that. I am going to try to do that.
thx i will try to successfully compile it hopefully
in most future restore tutorials it says to download the noapnonce folder from tss saver but what if you used shsh.host
there is only one option so that one would work right?
what if I saved blobs with shsh.host for an a12 device?
so no matter what if i used the right ecid in shsh.host everything is ok right?
and i set the generator
on a12
cool
so i was trying out this tutorial on my 1st gen se just for practice for when i need to take my a12 from 13.5 to 14.1
is anything different from restoring the se vs my xs or is everything the same besides the ipsws?
wait whats wrong with it
oh..
but i don't have a mac
i heard that compiling is very bad on windows so can somone who's smart enough just compile it and share it so n00bs like me don't have to figure that stuff out
when i run the last command of the how to compile futurerestore: ```Last login: Fri Nov 27 13:51:10 on ttys000
tylers-iMac:~ tyler$ cp /usr/local/bin/futurerestore ../
cp: /usr/local/bin/futurerestore: No such file or directory
tylers-iMac:~ tyler$
tylers-iMac:~ tyler$ make install
make: *** No rule to make target `install'. Stop.
tylers-iMac:~ tyler$
@storm apex how do i install xcode on macos mojave because when I try to install xcode, it says that a higher version is required of macos
Ok never mind I’m going to install Linux because I just think my macOS version is too low for this kind of stuff
so then what is the best way to restore my xs from 13.5 to 14.1 with blobs on my windows pc
i'm seeing alot of conflicting and confusing information
Thank you
Hi
Get this error in future restore
It was working fine
Earlier
Please help
No context
@vivid nova sir does futurerestore work on windows or nah, i cant remember
@storm apex it does, just haven't compiled it yet
@rustic blaze check your BuildManifest.plist. You're probably using the wrong one.
@storm apex please post a solution for the above error
You can install Xcode 11 just fine
what do u mean by context
Are 13 blobs working to downgrade?
No
@full osprey soon hopefully we can only pray
Can i downgrade my iphone X to 14.1 frm 14.2 with future restore or not i have all blobs n files
Normally yes. Jailbreak with checkrain, set nonce and downgrade with futurerestore.
The above error occurs when I am trying to upgrade my x from 14.0 to 14.0.1
The same future restore worked fine earlier
@vivid nova the build manifest shows product version as 14.2
This version was not compiled by me
Does that make any difference
???
Please somebody help
Yes I m using build manifest from 14.2
But I repeatedly get the above error
Something to do with img4tool
Im not sure on that error. Is it for the correct device and ios version
Yes iPhone X upgrade from iOS 14.0 to 14.0 to 14.01
Also check the files to make sure they're from 14.2 ipsw
Yes iPhone X upgrade from iOS 14.0 to 14.0 to 14.01
@rustic blaze dunno how it got from restoring itself (from 14.0 - 14.0) to updating to an inexistant firmware (14.01)
<@&355177530061357057>
Get a Mac
loading linux
Or Linux
ok so how would i compile on linux?
Pins
i sent a reddit post and capt said it was wrong?
Check recently pinned
Yes
ok thanks, also why can't somone compile it on linux/mac or whatever and share the precompiled version for everyone to use eaisly?
You could I guess but they would all need to be linked anyway
Maybe chroot will work
i'm not that familiar at this stuff what does linking mean, are there separate files needed to run compiled future restore or it it just one file where you open terminal and run the commands?
Dependencies needed so it runs
yes but what about the noobs like me who just want to get their jailbreak (not to sound like an eta kid but) from 13.5 to 14.1 in the eaisest way possible
yea
and also if I were to screw up something or some error happened while restoring everything is good if I restore to 14.2 and try again going to 14.1 on a12 right?
o shit
so you have to be currently jailbroken for the restore to work?
fuck
uggg i want ios 14 jb but i also don't want to screw up and be stuck on 14.2
ok so then what if i practice on my old se, is anything different to the end user when running it?
will compiling and running also work in a vm or will i have to nativly run ubuntu
okie dokie
https://www.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/k13c2l/tutorial_upgrade_to_141_from_135_iphone_xr/ this one is ok?
whats wrong about it
good thing I didnt restore
lmao
that tutorial requires me to compile future restore again on macos right?
cause ive compiled already but on ubunto v
vm
is it easier to compile it on mac?
oh ok, being on big sur doesnt make a difference right?
imma uninstall all the vms then lol
restore folder should look something like this?
alright thx
once i compile on linux i have to run sudo LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib futurerestore <arguments> but if I go into that folder I don't see anything callled future restoere even though it compiled fine. am i just being a noob about this lol and theres somthing i don't knwo
#futurerestore-help message on your tutorial, what is xcode for?
ok i think i get it. you are going into that folder to get the dependencies but the actual future restore is somewhere else?
oh ok, but everything is done in terminal right?
alright
the project folder downloaded as a normal folder? am I not supposed to unzip it myself or I have to unzip/open the 2 files inside it?
Should’ve been a zip I believe but there’s only two files there iirc
it downloaded as a folder not zip, so I dont need to do anything else to it ?
where do I have to place the project zip?
Doesn’t matter
I placed it on desktop
do I just do cd ./desktop/project?
alright
btw the project zip download as a folder, is it fine?
in the future when its necessary to compile futurerestore again, how do I know which libs I need to install?
since Im downloading so many of them
oh
are there commands to check which libs are installed?
cause I dont even know what im installing rn
lol
alright
On cd/libplist, autogen.sh and then make install, 11 warning were generated, do I need to worry about those?
screen shot
Damn I continued and some went fine others generated more errors
Some showed something like deprecated
Kinda hard to help without seeing it
Can i upgrade from ios 13.3 iPhone 7 to ios 13.4.1 with these shsh blobs ?
This helps? Or do I screenshot everything
Now on libipatcher, male install says nothing to be done for install
<@&355177530061357057>
bruh
uh, can you help me with this?
no, sep not signed
get these errors when trying to compile futurerestore
i have followed project .zip instructions
all the dependencies were successfully installed
but its failing at this step
please help
@storm apex
It went through this also
But the final step
Failed
Could you compile it for me please
I will be very grateful
If u r free
compile what for what vers of mac?
Catalina Mac OS
enlighten me: what for?
I also get those errors and warning but even before compiling futurerestore
the first warnings came when make install libplist
then I continued and more warning came along it xd
until I did install libipatcher and it said nothing to be done for install
Now I get this
Can somebody help
Somebody should male a video tutorial
For the compilation
@storm apex
Where else can I ask about this errors
and u just do it again when something errors out needing something else again
I also get one error which stats img4tool couldn’t be found be in the tutorial I only install it later
I already have libzip installed
When I brew install libzip
It gives me confirmation libzip is already installed
Anyway how to install libzip
Can someone please help
capt can you also help me out?
Ive already checked all the commands I ran
futurerestore wont compile
some warnings show up when I do "make" in libplist
maybe its because im on bigsur?
I can rerun the commands and send you the screenshots if you need
👍
I guess I did run all commands in order cause Ive rechecked them
is it the same thing compiling it on ubuntu vm and using futurerestore there?
cause on ubuntu futurerestore seemed to compile just fine
oh ok
do I need to delete anything, I want to rerun all the commands
alright
so basically everything thats in the project folder?
ok
alright
whats this?
I was doing "make" in libplist
the same 11 warnings showed up here
I mean idk if they are the same warnings, but they are 11 just like before
can I dm you the screenshots?
Could someone help me restore to iOS 13.5.1, I have SHSH2 blobs and no tutorials worked for me. I can use a windows computer and a computer running ubuntu. DM me if someone could help me xd
You can't restore to 13.5.1. The baseband isn't compatible. It seems also if you have a wifi only device, that downgrade <= iOS 14 use only on appletv.
capt, any idea to solve the errors im getting?
when I reach libipatcher
and do make install
it says nothing to do for install or something simillar
yeah
I mean, I dont have it opened
Alright give me a moment
now, everything seemed to run just fine but then in the end libirecovery couldnt be found
am I that stupid? hahahah
same, it couldnt find libirecovery
Any way to get from 14.1-13.5? I have blobs
this might help you charliec
What about 13.7 I have blobs for that @gritty swift
idk, but I think you also cant
Ok thanks
but ask somebody else just to make sure
Do I just open those files with textedit?
after that I just need to do make install on those to folder again right?
alright
Me an intellectual disables SIP and chowns /usr/local so I don’t have to sudo make install
@storm apex
shouldn't need to sudo for that either
and my standard is rm -rv
-f is useless
Don’t ever use it
Some git files are protected
Sudo needed
https://pastebin.com/WLEkAqm4 capt, this happened
Imagine using make instead of gmake
You ran sudo prior
@gritty swift
Now ownership is fucked
Smh
Never run sudo git clone or sudo make
Unless it’s for make install
where do I run it? it says id-i and id-g not found
Fixed
it's not useless for .git folders
you do not need sudo for them usually -f is enough
because even without write perms you technically own the files
so you are allowed to delete it if you force
@storm apex
@storm apex I followed this script https://gist.github.com/Lessica/c2d7bfcc3b9edb364b83387ad7785302
Build script for futurerestore and all its dependencies for macOS. - build-futurerestore.sh
and it stopped at libzip
please guide me how to install libzip
is xcode mandatory for future restore compilation
hi, have windows version available? i want to update my iPhone X from 13.5 ot 14.x(blobs saved)
Not yet I think
which one should i download
Show me a simplest way to compile please
Either to follow your tutorial or the above script
capt, after changing all the values you told me to and running those few commands from futurerestore, make install didnt work
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
the one from your tutorial
this?
when did I do git clone futurerestore?
just right after that login
alright
which commands do I run after cloning it?
only those after cd futurerestore?
after autogen I also need to change those things u said?
alright
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
the latest ig, cause i have to updates available on the app store
ig not
well ill try futurerestoring on ubuntu when a jailbreak arrives
maybe cause im on big sur?
ok
Please make a patch or gsed command @storm apex
Gotta compile deps as debug also ––enable–debug
fatal: not a git repository (or any of the parent directories): .git
thats what happened with the first command
oh nvm im supposed to run it in futurerestore
libirecovery wasnt found, do I change those values you said as well?
and run autogen.sh again?
Excuse me ,does FR 14 have plan to compile windows version?
Hi, I'm trying to downgrade my jailbroken iPod Touch 6th gen running iOS 12.4.7 to iOS 8.4 and am having trouble. when I try to run the FutureRestore command line, the iPod itself does nothing and it reads in terminal: "Killed: 9" no idea what that means or how to make it work, please help
@lucid heath 2 problems:
- You'll need to sign futurerestore to get it to work
And 2, iOS 8 is too low, so restoring isn't possible
See here for iOS downgrading compatibility:
Website for seeing if the latest version's SEP is compatible with a specified target version
okay.... are there any workarounds to get 8? if not is there a way to downgrade to 9? what exactly would i need to do? and how would one go about signing futurerestore?
@lucid heath the oldest you can downgrade to is iOS 12.4
@stiff hazel is that because its the only signed IPSW? I had discovered FutureRestore in attempt to downgrade to an unsigned firmware. are there no ways to intstall an unsigned IPSW? i guess I'm really confused
It's because of incompatible SEP, the 12.4.7 SEP is only compatible with versions down to 12.4
darn. is there any workaround? i have the .im4p files for both 12 and 8
the sep has to be signed by apple, anyone can get the files
the file without the signature is useless
and apple isnt signing any seps that are compatible with 8
Is there any method similar to acquiring SHSH blobs that could create a signature?
I suppose I’m the one who’s clueless
I had seen so many tutorials on how to downgrade 9 to 6 (which I have had no success with on my 4s ) but I just figured because of that there was a way to install any unsigned ipsw file after jumping through enough hoops
Thanks!
you can do that on a 4s because there was no sep back then
Pastebin.com is the number one paste tool since 2002. Pastebin is a website where you can store text online for a set period of time.
this is my terminal log after compiling future restore
1 warning and 3 errors generated
even after making the changes in configure.ac file
as suggested by @storm apex
this is my changed configure .ac file
please help
@storm apex
So you mean if we use this -> #futurerestore-help message with the project.zip we have also a windows version in the folder after we compile it on mac?
help me ?
Please help me
As I am facing lot of errors and warnings while compiling future restore
@storm apex I am sorry if you have felt offended in my pinging you many times
Do u want me to install a fresh copy of Catalina
And try this again
@gritty swift had these issues and whatever u had asked me to change I changed it
How to delete +reclone
Where is it located
Ok
would sudo chown -R username . help maybe
$(id -u):$(id -g)
does mac Silicon can restore iPhone with futurerestore witb Rosetta 2 ?
Don't see why not..
Format the Mac Mac run Gh’s above command or in the same terminal window @storm apex
It seems simple.. But knowing Apple, they might pull some strings to stop us..
ok @storm apex
Hey, if i saved my blobs for 14.1 when coolstar said so, but the generator is not 0x000 can i still use them if i set my generator as is in the blob?
wdym "is not 0x00"?
Can we compile latest future restore on windows
if he was.. He'd have a much bigger headache
really how
'cause Apple don't like downgrading, so they've changed stuff
I feel as if it’s hard on both os
Well probably because I tried on 10.11.16
@vivid nova @storm apex thank you for considering to answer my question. There was a post on reddit which said "blobs saved with odyssey jailbreak are invalid if the generator is not 0x0000000000000000", and i saved my blobs for 14.1 before this post even existing, thats what im asking
@celest basalt use tss1conan
mac is easiest, linux/freebsd is slightly harder and windows is significantly harder
eh
actually it depends
I tend to get way more errors on lower mac os versions
i think i have looked through 10 github issues
when compiling futurerestore on linux
@drifting steeple well windows fail ootb on libgeneral
so windows is much harder
well for freebsd the technical difficulty is similar to that of linux but less people tries to compile it there so i will say it is slightly harder than on linux
so
difficulty:
macOS < iOS, iPadOS, tvOS (cross compile) < linux < other unixes <<< windows <<<<<< anything else
That was already answered earlier - scroll up. You’ll be making changes to the configure.ac file -----was this reply intended for me @storm apex
Quick question, I'm on 11 pro max 13.5 trying to go to 14.1. I have blobs saved through SystemInfo for 14.1, but I'm getting errors using FutureRestore. Am I supposed to first unjailbreak, then update to 14.2, then downgrade to 14.1? Or am I doing something wrong, and I'm supposed to be able to go directly from 13.5 to 14.1? I've tried using manual sep and baseband and --latest-___, but neither are working
is this supposed to happen
what
i did it tho
idk probably
i think i have xcode command tools
or do i need xcode
nfr
Can I use https://github.com/tihmstar/futurerestore/releases or do I have to compile it myself? Also I'm on an M1 MBA, does that matter? I had to install brew using Rosetta 2
Gotcha, Xcode is downloading now. Thanks, I'll try again once that finishes
You might wanna connect to ethernet if you can, xcode's a big boy
i know
im bringing my laptop to the router rn
how much storage does xcode take
ok noted
Do I need to do anything in xcode, or is it enough to have it installed? Do i need to manually install any dependencies?
cant i just use the one from tihmstar github?
I've been trying that all night to no avail, so I'd probably say no
I downgraded from 14 to 13.7
Full log please...
With which device?
SEP is compatible. Baseband not. So he maybe use a wifi only device. But it is interestinig with which device he downgrade to 13.7 because I and others have tried it with iPads wifi only and it not works. It seems it is only working on appletv at this time.
nvm it worked
nvm
