strong fiber
#

yoooo is that paidd??

vivid nova
#

yes

strong fiber
#

strong fiber
#

I'm not suree

#

vivid nova
#

you pirated

#

and it killed your jb

strong fiber
#

oh hell noo i installed it from cydia search list

vivid nova
#

yeah, from a pirated source

strong fiber
#

and added it to cydia from some website

vivid nova
#

some website = pirate

strong fiber
#

but i did that from some youtube tutorial

#

omg

vivid nova
#

youtube = huge on piracy

strong fiber
#

but that was the 3rd try on noctis 12

vivid nova
#

restore 12.4.9, but backup first

strong fiber
#

it crashed the first time on installing simple tweaks no 3rd party inbuilt cydia

vivid nova
#

then re-jb clean and don't follow youtube

strong fiber
#

no 3rd party tweaks only inbuilt cydia tweaks*

#

how do i rejailbreak without following Youtube

#

omgggg

#

just figuredd

tulip yew
strong fiber
#

I'm using checkra1n from some bich indian youtuber

#

it's edited from himmmmm

#

omgg

#

btw no offence im indian too

#

I'll rejailbreak from the real checkra1n from their websitee

#

ugh

vivid nova
#

can we make this not about checkra1n and keep it futurerestore plz?

#

resolution: restore via itunes and rejb

#

done

strong fiber
#

okay but can i jailbreal using future store?

vivid nova
#

no.

strong fiber
#

cause i do that using checkra1n na?

vivid nova
#

futurerestore doesn't provide jailbreaking support

strong fiber
#

anyways thanks mann I'll give this thing a shot and see what pops up!

vivid nova
#

ok

strong fiber
#

tysm!!!!!

#

btw if you're saying it's just gonna get fixed restoring via itunes and rejbking it just won't work did exctly that 3+ times and now for the 4th time

#

off to workk

vivid nova
#

you work... but won't buy a 2 dollar tweak?

sharp tangle
#

Hey guys, I'm looking for libirecovery-1.0.3.dylib where can i find or compile it, please

#

going to try compile this again. it fails compiling the dependencies, going to update to OS 10.13.6 and Xcode 10.1 and see if I have more luck

neat flower
#

Ians-iMac:project ianporteous$ /usr/local/lib/pkgconfig/libplist.pc

#

any idea why I get permission denied?

vivid nova
#

@neat flower prolly forgot to sudo

neat flower
#

ok here is where I get errors:

#

cd ./libinsn
./autogen.sh

#

please guys, been trying for two days to compile this (for someone who's never owned a mac before)

vivid nova
#

@neat flower works better without Mojave > *

neat flower
#

im on high sierra

#

need a prebuilt github release for libinsn

vivid nova
#

do you have homebrew?

neat flower
vivid nova
#

where'd you clone libinsn from?

neat flower
#

the above tut

vivid nova
#

when you do ./autogen.sh

#

after, just make

#

then make install

neat flower
#

i get errors doing that also. exact same error as the make install

#

someone on reddit sovled it by getting a prebuilt libinsn and placing it in /usr/local

#

but I can't find a preBuilt one

#

any chance you could send yours from your /usr/local? please

#

I'm so desperate to just downgrade to 4.1 then I can rest. I got blobs and baseband, sep all ready to go. just can't compile this. stuck on this step.

vivid nova
#

what device is it?

neat flower
#

iphone x

vivid nova
#

yeah.. it may not work

#

even with a properly compiled futurerstore

neat flower
#

nonce set already

neat flower
#

Would you be able to upload the compiled libinsn so I can at least try please?

vivid nova
#

yeah..

neat flower
#

would be amazing if you could

#

As i can't compile liboffsetfinder64 without libinsn, so if anyone could just upload that file to here, then I can continue

neat flower
#

@vivid nova I followed the website you gave me, as I try the final steps to compile futurerestore i get this error:

checking for libirecovery-1.0 >= 1.0.0... no
configure: error: Package requirements (libirecovery-1.0 >= 1.0.0) were not met:

No package 'libirecovery-1.0' found

Consider adjusting the PKG_CONFIG_PATH environment variable if you
installed software in a non-standard prefix.

Alternatively, you may set the environment variables libirecovery_CFLAGS
and libirecovery_LIBS to avoid the need to call pkg-config.
See the pkg-config man page for more details.

I have compiled librecovery, i believe it's version 0.2.0 though.

vivid nova
#

0.2 is well outdated

neat flower
#

😲 it's nearly compiled !! on the final steps.. make! 🤞

vivid nova
#

Cool

neat flower
#

any idea why :(?

vivid nova
#

@neat flower

neat flower
#

ok will do ^

vivid nova

still same error

vivid nova

neat flower
#

😩

#

is this a dependency error?

#

#

seems so

#

did you compile libgeneral?

neat flower
vivid nova

which one did you compile?

neat flower

what does this do:

#

really wanted to get back to iOS 4.1 with my saved blobs.. came so close to compiling futurerestore. Going to have to call it a night. feel defeated. thank you for trying to help me, I followed every step of each tutorial and can't get passed the last hurdle. I will offer $50 if someone can compile this for me and have a working futurerestore.

vivid nova
#

are you on big sur?

neat flower
#

no high sierra 10.13.6

#

running as a hackingtosh dual booting with windows

vivid nova
#

you can try a virtual machine HS

neat flower
#

can I use windows 10 to run the HS VM?

#

i have VM ready on my windows 10

vivid nova
#

yes

neat flower
#

ok brb rebooting

#

back, going to get HS for virtualbox

#

downloading 6gb HS

#

will i need to install all the dependencies to run futurerestore?

vivid nova
#

yes

#
  • which shouldn't be difficult
#

there's only like 4-5 of them

neat flower
#

Ok awesome, will let know when I have HS running in Vm

neat flower
#

it's harder than i thought to get HS running on a VM. just got it to the start up screen now 😳

vivid nova
#

oof

neat flower
#

yeah, ran into more problems, following a new tutorial to get HS on VMware on windows. 3am here. got work tomorrow too

neat flower
#

awesome! finally booted and on the desktop

#

now to install the dependencies, will I need xcode and home brew etc to be installed first?

#

ok, any chance you know which version of xcode works on 10.13.6 ?

#

10.1 i think

#

downloading xcode 6gb

vivid nova
#

10.1 is the best

#

you don't even need xcode

#

just the command line tools @neat flower

#

xcode-select --install

neat flower
#

Sorry, I have no clue about mac's untill the last few days trying to compile future... is their a quicker way to just get the command line tools? instead me downloading full xcode?

neat flower
vivid nova
#

then /bin/bash -c "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install.sh)"

#

i'll give you the commands one by one @neat flower

#

just gotta copy/paste

#

then wait

neat flower
#

ok thank you, almost done installing the command line tools

vivid nova
#

after homebrew is installed...

brew install automake autoconf libtool pkg-config

git clone https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libirecovery && cd ./libirecovery && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

give it time to install... then:

git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libcrippy && cd ./libcrippy && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

Also:

git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libfragmentzip && cd ./libfragmentzip && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

and:

git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libpartialzip && cd ./libpartialzip && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

before compiling futurerestore, you'll need OpenSSL. Here's how to get it:

cd /usr/local sudo mkdir ssl sudo chmod 777 /usr/local/ssl cd git clone https://github.com/openssl/openssl.git cd openssl ./config make make install

#

and finally:

brew install curl

full spoke
#

You don’t need a boot nonce do you to use future restore?

vivid nova
#

yes you do

full spoke
#

Can you answer my question in checkra1n

#

It has to do with this

neat flower
vivid nova
#

ls

#

then look for it

#

whoops

#

i changed it

#

cd ./libcrippy && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

rest should be fine

neat flower
vivid nova
#

ah, easy fix

#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libplist.git && cd ./libplist && bash autogen.sh && make install

neat flower
vivid nova
#

try this instead:

#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libplist.git && cd ./libplist && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

just rm -rf ./libplist

#

first

neat flower
#

ok think we're good, going to continue doing the rest

vivid nova
#

nah... nother easy fix

#

brew install libzip

neat flower
#

trying to re-do the command, how do I remove the above folder and go again?

vivid nova
#

bash autogen.sh && make install

neat flower
vivid nova
#

ah, easy fixes coming!

#

git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libgeneral && cd ./libfragmentzip && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

this one might throw errors too... just screenshot 'em and send

#

but you're gettin' there

neat flower
vivid nova
#

./autogen.sh && make install

neat flower
vivid nova
#

dafuq

#

ls

#

oh wait..

#

cd ..

#

cd ./libgeneral

neat flower
#

urgh it wont let me out the dir

vivid nova
#

did you press space

neat flower
vivid nova
#

close terminal, re-open

#

then cd ./libfragmentzip/libgeneral

neat flower
vivid nova
#

ls

neat flower
#

managed to install libgeneral now.

vivid nova
#

good

#

with libgeneral, finish doing libfragmentzip

neat flower
#

yep done that

vivid nova
#

git clone https://github.com/tihmstar/libpartialzip && cd ./libpartialzip && bash autogen.sh && make install

neat flower
#

doing the openssl now

vivid nova
#

this one will take time

#

took me roughly 30 - 45 mins

#

when you get to make

#

just let it go

neat flower
neat flower
vivid nova
#

cool

neat flower
#

the compile you made should work now?

vivid nova
#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/marijuanARM/futurerestore && cd ./futurerestore && bash autogen.sh && make install

neat flower
vivid nova
#

okay.. getting closer though

neat flower
#

haha

vivid nova
#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libimobiledevice && cd ./libimobiledevice && bash autogen.sh && make install

neat flower
vivid nova
#

ha okay.. keep going

#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/libimobiledevice/libusbmuxd && cd ./libusbmuxd && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

then compile libimobiledevice

#

hopefully no "no package" errors

neat flower
vivid nova
#

oof okay

#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/img4tool && cd ./img4tool && bash autogen.sh && make install

neat flower
vivid nova
#

you could try using the futurerestore bin i sent

neat flower
vivid nova
#

ah, compile libgeneral

neat flower
#

can you pass the git for it again please?

vivid nova
#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libgeneral

#

may as well put in git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/liboffsetfinder64

neat flower
#

think i got a problem with libgeneral

#

Think, i installed libgeneral now, liboffsetfinder is missing libinsn

vivid nova
#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libinsn

#

cd ./libinsn ./autogen.sh sudo make install

#

then redo liboffsetfinder

#

then git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libipatcher && cd ./libipatcher && bash autogen.sh && make install

#

git clone --recursive https://github.com/tihmstar/libirecovery && cd ./libirecovery && bash autogen.sh && make install

neat flower
#

so many errors installing libinsn

vivid nova
#

what errors?

neat flower
vivid nova
#

oof

neat flower
#

same problem i had on my hackintosh

vivid nova
#

you've got libgeneral done though

#

does futurerestore still error?

neat flower
#

i'll do libgeneral again and screen shot results

vivid nova
#

here

#

then retry it

neat flower
#

also after replacing, will the permissions need changing?

vivid nova
#

nah

neat flower
#

ooo future worked now

vivid nova
#

it does?!

neat flower
vivid nova
#

ooh goody

#

now you /should/ be able to restore

neat flower
#

would libinsn and pathfinder64 cause issues with restore?

#

as we couldn't install libinsn

vivid nova
#

it might... but one way to find out

#

if there are issues, futurerestore will error before executing the restore

neat flower
#

ok bro, going to reboot, jailbreak phone with checkra1n and boot back to windows/ Vm and give it a try

vivid nova
#

most of which is idevicerestore

neat flower
#

also set nonce to 0x111111111111111111 etc on phone before i try

#

brb reboot to jailbreak

#

jainbroken > copy my files to vm > test restore

vivid nova
#

good luck

#

the main problems i've had are apnonce not being set

neat flower
#

sigh

#

do you have the libimg4tool.0.dylib? i'm sure we installed that?

#

I have it in the folder. can I have yours to replace mine please?

vivid nova
#

i do

#

i'll just pass 'em to you

So I read coolstar's post that people on 14.1 should stay on it, as there is a chance for a jailbreak. was wondering if someone could help me out and guide me on how to use the blobs with future restore or whatever as it is currently unsigned. I saved blobs for 14.1 already. Note: I'm using an iPhone 11 Pro

Can anyone confirm if this is possible

? I have compile futurerestore on Ubuntu and macOS Catalina without errors. I can my iPad Air 2 wifi only downgrade from 14.2 to 14.1. But I can't futurerestore from 14.2 or 14.1 to 13.7. It ends with the above errors. Have googled the error and found this -> https://therealketo.github.io/futurerestore-guide/error-codes
```Error: unable to receive message from FDR…
- This error can be caused when using an SEP and Baseband that is not compatible with the unsigned firmware you're trying to upgrade, downgrade, or re-restore to.
- Make sure that you know that the SEP and Baseband you use in order to upgrade, downgrade, or re-restore is compatible with your desired unsigned firmware.```
So it seems that the SEP is not compatible. My question is now, who have do a successful restore on a wifi only device from 14.x to 13.4 or above?
restoring from 14.1 to 13.7 failed but restoring from 14.2 to 14.1 succeeded. Does this mean that 14.2 sep is incompatible with ios 13?
subtle cosmos
#
@celest basalt same as me, whats your error? I think so, but other users like @storm apex said they have test it successful.
https://joshblah555.github.io/JoshTV/SEPCheckr.html? says also that 14.2 SEP is compatible with 13.4 and up.
Would be cool if other users with wifi only devices can test it and give feedback. Maybe with which devices and how they have compile futurerestore, machine (vm or real) etc.
Find out if restoring is possible!
#
My tests:
Device: iPad Air 2 wifi only
Test 1:
Ubuntu 20.04.1 (real, no vm) compiled without errors -> https://old.reddit.com/r/jailbreak/comments/jx0hvc/tutorial_compiling_futurerestore_187_on_linux/
14.2 -> 14.1 successful
14.2 and 14.1 -> 13.7 failed -> ERROR: Unable to receive message from FDR 0x7fd988001180 (-2). 0/2 bytes
Test 2:
MacOS Catalina 15.5.5 (VMware) compiled without errors (multiple guides to have all requirements)
14.2 -> 13.7 failed -> ERROR: Unable to receive message from FDR 0x7fd988001180 (-2). 0/2 bytes
vivid nova
#
@subtle cosmos i believe the SEP is compatible for downgrading, but futurerestore has yet to be updated for such
#
What is iOS 12.4-ota for?
@ocean vine it's an over the air blob. It's saved in the events that you can downgrade to it and yes.. It can be used to restore
#
How can I need libzip and have it installed already?
@Rick.#7777 brew install libzip
#
Please, why this happend? using @night harbor compile method for linux, from 14.2 to 14.1 . Thanks
@boreal quarry most likely you've run out of disc space or the ipsw is corrupt
subtle cosmos
vivid nova
#
The SEP works for tvOS
#
TvOS works coinciding with iOS
subtle cosmos
#
Maybe @storm apex can bring "light in the dark". He said he have already test it.
vivid nova
#
I've successfully gotten to 13.4 from a 14.2 SEP
#
Problem is, the baseband
subtle cosmos
#
With your apple tv?
vivid nova
#
Yes
subtle cosmos
#
I have test it with iPad Air 2 wifi only. So there is no baseband.
vivid nova
#
The FDR messages are failed attempts of Apple sending the "ok" during restore which is why it results in a bootloop; furthermore, Apple is also trying to block it as we try to get around it
#
The Apple TV isn't a big concern seeing as there's not as much user data as an iOS device, which is why downgrading is rather easy
subtle cosmos
#
Ok, so the feedback if the SEP is compatible is only test with apple tv devices?
vivid nova
#
Mostly, yes
subtle cosmos
#
Ah ok. Do you know ifniz was checked that the SEP which is shipped in the tvOS IPSW is the same as in iPadOS/iOS?
#
Also thanks to clarify this.
@brazen peak a12 has nonce entanglement so unless you have saved blobs that are valid.. You won't be able to get to it
I have saved blobs for 14.1, 2 different ones, one with a generator, and one without. (from blobsaver GUI) will future restore let me update to 14.1 without any issues?
#
Not doing it now, when jailbreak released if possible
vivid nova
#
The noapnonce one should work @nova prairie
nova prairie
#
@vivid nova does it matter or....
i mean can i use either?
or just stick with the one with just my apnonce
vivid nova
The other one is if you've specified an apnonce
and not the generator
Both ive specified my apnonce
vivid nova
The generator allows you to set the nonce
nova prairie
one just didnt save the generator with it
vivid nova
Yes, that would be the apnonce
nova prairie
#
ok that makes sense
it says “0x11111111111...” in one of mine, in <generator> tags, but in the other it does not. Both have the same apnonce tho. Just trying to get it figured out. Thanks!
cyan spruce
#
Maybe this question has been asked a million times but can futurerestore not be compiled for Windows (I remember using it on Windows for iOS 12 or iOS 13) and why won't people share pre-compiled binaries anywhere? EVERYWHERE where someone asks for a pre-compiled binary, instead of an explanation as to why they can't or won't share it, they just point to a tutorial on how to compile yourself. Thanks.
subtle cosmos
#
@cyan spruce I don't know exactly, but I mean a compiled version for users and the distributions (macos, linux and win) needs to be crosscompiled with all required binaries in it. When someone share a pre-compiled binary without crosscompile, you also must all required binaries from the tutorials compile yourself to get futurerestore working. So if you must compile the required binaries yourself anyway, you can also compile futurerestore.
Don't know how to crosscompile futurerestore (if it is the right way so users can use it without coompile the requred binaries self). I also would like to have a win version🤷‍♂️
Correct me if I am wrong.
#
But don't know where the problem is to compile it yourself. The tut from @night harbor is simple to follow.
nova prairie
#
the thing is, I don’t have a mac.
subtle cosmos
#
You don't need a mac. You can use Linux.
gritty swift
#
One question, in buildmanifest>root>buildidentities why are there 2 items with the same board config?
nova prairie
#
I can use linux?
valid adder
#
we don't know yet
it is for wifi devices afaik
#
could be baseband or sep incompat for baseband devices
#
subtle cosmos
#
There are different statements/feedback. 14.2 SEP is compatible with 13.4 and up. This was tested on AppleTV and there are successful restores with 14.2 SEP to 13.4 and up. But it seems that this works only on AppleTV. I (and @celest basalt, iPad 6 and @full osprey, on iPad 7) have test it on iPad Air 2 wifi only and there come errors. I can only downgrade to 14.0 with 14.2 SEP. Maybe other users can test it with other wifi only devices. Read the conversation from me and @vivid nova here -> #futurerestore-help message
full osprey
#
I was thinking of testing 13.6.1 and 13.7 beta but I’m pretty sure that wont make a difference. 14.2 SEP just isn’t compatible
subtle cosmos
#
Would be cool if you test it. With checkra1n we have good test devices where we can test anything and go back to 14.x if something no work. But how @vivid nova says, the SEP is maybe compatible but futurerestore must be fixed or something else -> #futurerestore-help message
celest basalt
I compiled futurerestore without xcode installed but it still installed futurerestore so can i still downgrade or do I have to re compile it?
#
sorry im kinda new to this stuff
but i did what you said and this happens
vivid nova
#
did you compile futurerestore?
celest basalt
#
yes
celest basalt
#
it also gave me img4tool and futurerestore folders
#
but it didn't give me a exec file
#
i compiled it, and ran this
#
it says that command not found
#
@storm apex what i did was pasted the commands in the terminal when I followed the tutorial. "Steps
  1. Download the attached "project.zip" file and unzip it
  2. Run each of these commands in Terminal, one-by-one: "
#
yes
#
i will try it again
#
@storm apex so what i do is I type in make install then run the commands right?
#
it says nothing about typing in make install. All it says was to download the project.zip file and to run each of these commands in terminal one by one, which i did. I do see something in there that says make sudo make install though.
#
and im using macos mojave
#
ok i think i know what i did wrong. It said to run each of the commands ONE BY ONE and i didn't do that. I am going to try to do that.
#
thx i will try to successfully compile it hopefully
maiden citrus
#
in most future restore tutorials it says to download the noapnonce folder from tss saver but what if you used shsh.host
there is only one option so that one would work right?
@storm apex how do i install xcode on macos mojave because when I try to install xcode, it says that a higher version is required of macos
#
Ok never mind I’m going to install Linux because I just think my macOS version is too low for this kind of stuff
so then what is the best way to restore my xs from 13.5 to 14.1 with blobs on my windows pc
do I run it in the futurerestore folder? it says .deps no such file directory
celest basalt
#
you do not need sudo for them usually -f is enough
#
because even without write perms you technically own the files
#
so you are allowed to delete it if you force
Excuse me ,does FR 14 have plan to compile windows version?
Hi, I'm trying to downgrade my jailbroken iPod Touch 6th gen running iOS 12.4.7 to iOS 8.4 and am having trouble. when I try to run the FutureRestore command line, the iPod itself does nothing and it reads in terminal: "Killed: 9" no idea what that means or how to make it work, please help
vivid nova
#
@lucid heath 2 problems:
  1. You'll need to sign futurerestore to get it to work
And 2, iOS 8 is too low, so restoring isn't possible
#
See here for iOS downgrading compatibility:
#
sep
Website for seeing if the latest version's SEP is compatible with a specified target version
lucid heath
#
okay.... are there any workarounds to get 8? if not is there a way to downgrade to 9? what exactly would i need to do? and how would one go about signing futurerestore?
stiff hazel
#
@lucid heath the oldest you can downgrade to is iOS 12.4
lucid heath
#
@stiff hazel is that because its the only signed IPSW? I had discovered FutureRestore in attempt to downgrade to an unsigned firmware. are there no ways to intstall an unsigned IPSW? i guess I'm really confused
stiff hazel
#
It's because of incompatible SEP, the 12.4.7 SEP is only compatible with versions down to 12.4
lucid heath
#
darn. is there any workaround? i have the .im4p files for both 12 and 8
cinder flume
#
the sep has to be signed by apple, anyone can get the files
#
the file without the signature is useless
#
and apple isnt signing any seps that are compatible with 8
lucid heath
#
Is there any method similar to acquiring SHSH blobs that could create a signature?
#
I suppose I’m the one who’s clueless
#
I had seen so many tutorials on how to downgrade 9 to 6 (which I have had no success with on my 4s ) but I just figured because of that there was a way to install any unsigned ipsw file after jumping through enough hoops
#
Thanks!
cinder flume
#
you can do that on a 4s because there was no sep back then
rustic blaze
#
Hi @storm apex I get this error now
#
Can I please help in resolving this
celest basalt
#
@vivid nova @storm apex thank you for considering to answer my question. There was a post on reddit which said "blobs saved with odyssey jailbreak are invalid if the generator is not 0x0000000000000000", and i saved my blobs for 14.1 before this post even existing, thats what im asking
vivid nova
#
@celest basalt use tss1conan
shadow ore
drifting steeple
#
eh
#
actually it depends
#
I tend to get way more errors on lower mac os versions
shadow ore
#
i think i have looked through 10 github issues
#
when compiling futurerestore on linux
#
@drifting steeple well windows fail ootb on libgeneral
#
so windows is much harder
#
well for freebsd the technical difficulty is similar to that of linux but less people tries to compile it there so i will say it is slightly harder than on linux
#
so
#
difficulty:
macOS < iOS, iPadOS, tvOS (cross compile) < linux < other unixes <<< windows <<<<<< anything else
rustic blaze
#
That was already answered earlier - scroll up. You’ll be making changes to the configure.ac file -----was this reply intended for me @storm apex
Quick question, I'm on 11 pro max 13.5 trying to go to 14.1. I have blobs saved through SystemInfo for 14.1, but I'm getting errors using FutureRestore. Am I supposed to first unjailbreak, then update to 14.2, then downgrade to 14.1? Or am I doing something wrong, and I'm supposed to be able to go directly from 13.5 to 14.1? I've tried using manual sep and baseband and --latest-___, but neither are working
SEP is compatible. Baseband not. So he maybe use a wifi only device. But it is interestinig with which device he downgrade to 13.7 because I and others have tried it with iPads wifi only and it not works. It seems it is only working on appletv at this time.
