You can install jailbreaks directly on your device in Safari with https://jailbreaks.app/. Note that certs are revoked very often, so it is advised to install ReProvision Reborn once you're jailbroken to keep your jailbreak signed.

If you have absolutely no access to a computer be aware in rare circumstances (almost always user error) it is possible to get stuck in a boot loop or similar which requires one to restore.

Checkra1n does not and will never work without a computer.

Any options for upgrading without losing jailbreak? No future restore method? Optional methods with other jb apps? From researching & understanding only checkra1n supports older iPhone models.

If you’re on AMD/Ryzen, you may be encountering a few issues when using checkra1n. This can vary between freezes and straight up crashes. It’s because of AMD’s weird drivers that cause it not to work that well with checkra1n’s exploit. If you’re lucky you can actually successfully manage to jailbreak using checkra1n.

Tips to increase successrate:

Plug your device into your computer's motherboard.
Use a genuine Apple USB-A to lighting cable.

If you’re stuck on the apple logo please force reboot yourself (see: /tag reboot).

If these don’t work, try to get your hands on another computer (preferably intel), and try to use checkra1n again.

If you’re on AMD/Ryzen, you may be encountering a few issues when using checkra1n. This can vary between freezes and straight up crashes. It’s because of AMD’s weird drivers that cause it not to work that well with checkra1n’s exploit. If you’re lucky you can actually successfully manage to jailbreak using checkra1n.

Tips to increase successrate:

Plug your device into your computer's motherboard.
Use a genuine Apple USB-A to lighting cable.

If you’re stuck on the apple logo please force reboot yourself (see: /tag reboot).

If these don’t work, try to get your hands on another computer (preferably intel), and try to use checkra1n again.

Hello, I am trying to jailbreak an iPhone 7 iOS v14.8.1 with Checkra1n v0.12.4 and it errors out everytime. It enters DFU mode and Checkra1n starts, but when it reboots the device it will continue to boot normally. Checkra1n throws error -31 and nothing happens. Any ideas? I have tried different cables/ports, restarting devices, CLI instead of GUI, etc. with no luck.

there is no public exploit and time and time again people don't release their findings.
they have a device on a12+ which means needing a pac bypass as well as a userland exploit. (15.2+). what geosnow showed was someone achieving arbitrary kernel r/w which isn't enough for a jailbreak anymore

Hi all,

So, those that are interested in using Checkl0ck, do keep in mind that at least on 14.8 there is an issue with it breaking all “secured” data containers in apps.

Slowly my apps started requesting a random password, which could be canceled to move onwards, but it was weird nonetheless. It removed any memory cache of quite a few apps as well.

So: do know that there’s risks and it’s buggy at best.

What's a blob?
It is a file containing a special key specifically for that one device to allow downgrading to a specific firmware.
They're like golden tickets, but instead a digital signature made by Apple that was saved at the time when the signing window was open. If you possess one (or many), keep them safe.

How do they work?
They can be used in a program called futurerestore to restore to a firmware in which the SEP/Baseband is compatible. To check SEP/Baseband compatibility, check /tag sepbb.

Make sure to not use misleading sites.

Regardless of SEP/Baseband compatibility, any/all blobs should be saved for future downgrading abilities.

Can I save them now?
Of course. Blobs can be saved at any time, but it is crucial to save them when Apple releases new firmware, because they can only be saved for versions that are currently signed.There is one exception to this: if you are jailbroken and Apple has unsigned the version you're currently on, you may save onboard blobs for that version.

DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode is a mode which allows a device in any condition to be restored to a fresh version of iOS (not to be confused with Recovery Mode). This can also be used to jailbreak using Checkra1n!

So yesterday I was successful in jail breaking my iPhone 7+ on iOS 14.6. Was working flawlessly for what I wanted to do. Now this morning it was still working great up until I left my phone to charge for an hour and came back to my tweak not working.
Trying to re-jailbreak and reinstall is not working as now my cydia is acting weird even after restoring from checkra1n app, and then re-jail breaking.
