Hey guys, I was wondering if someone could help me out. So I got an iPad Air 2 for pretty cheap and fixed it up, running iOS 13.3.1, I’m trying to jailbreak it with checkra1n but it keeps hanging at boot. I’ve tried the basics (swapping ports, cables, restart) to no avail. you can make a bootable checkrain with your netbook, since its a windows version. then you need to gain info about how to access your bios config, so that you'll be able to boot to your bootable flashdrive (which is the jailbreak tool for ios 14.8.1)

Ok, don't know if something went wrong. So I was using Odysseyn1x and did all the checkra1n installation steps correctly and it was in installing jailbreak, but i was noticing that after 6 minutes, not much was happening, but i thought maybe it was just me and it takes long. So i left for an hour, came back and saw my monitor was in black screen and my phone too. Nothing was happening and tried turning on my phone, nothing happened. So i disconnected it and tried turning it on. Still nothing so right now im going to leave it charging, but this is weird and i hope this didnt screw something up.

So….. not sure if it’s related or not but I pressed restore in the checkrain app first then did a device back up and restored to it. Now when I jailbreak it lets me do the essential upgrade but upon installing anything else the device goes into a infinite boot loop I can go into safe mode but theirs literally nothing to remove.. upon trying to jailbreak again into none safe mode it hangs at the black screen with white writing.. says booting but just doesn’t.

I’ve done the restore FS I did that before backing up my device. The problem is now when I go to jailbreak it just messes up and boot loops.
I’m probably explaining it like a tit. I restored FS. Did a device back up. Erased everything in the settings then restored to my back up. Upon jailbreaking you have todo the essential upgrade which installs fine.. but installing anything else like substrate for example just bootloops my device.. I can go into safe mode but theirs nothing bad installed to cause it to go into safe mode… trying to leave safe mode by Re-jailbreaking causes the device to hang at the booting screen.

I used checkra1n before this on my iphone 7 plus back in few months ago and i used a tweak called supervised device to update to 15.1 but now my device could not use any banking apps because i forgotten to unjailbreak my device before the update to 15.1.

updating restores rootfs, you likely have leftover jailbreak files in /var (which rootfs doesnt touch)
the only way to remove those is by resetting the device through the settings app and setting it up as new or having a backup before you were jailbroken
