If you're unable to restore rootfs the normal way, you can do it from a terminal (e.g. NewTerm or SSH).

Odyssey / Taurine
Open a terminal and type sudo snaputil -r orig-fs /, then reboot.
(This is not recommended, you may have to restore rootfs again from the app afterwards to be able to rejailbreak.)

Open a terminal and type /binpack/usr/bin/snappy -o, then reboot.

With checkra1n 0.12.3 or above, you can also restore rootfs from your computer:

Hello, I’m having trouble jailbreaking my iPad Air 2 on iOS 13.3 with Checkra1n v0.12.4 on Intel macOS 12.2.1. Whenever I jailbreak, on the GUI it says all done, but on the iPad, it’s still stuck on the Bootscreen whether verbose mode is on or off. After enabling Safemode, it now gets stuck booting with error -20.

Ok after some experimenting, even in CLI mode, it gets stuck on Apple Boot logo. To be more specific, before, it was getting stuck on the checkra1n logo / verbose boot mode, and I know the device is not frozen as it reacts to plugging/unplugging of usb.

I boot it open with Usb, I connect my phone, it says unable to support version etc, (I’m using iPhone X 14.4.2) I click options tick all of it, then it just freezes.

I then boot it up with out my phone plugged in I go to options and tick all of them, then I connect my phone and it says error connecting to lockdown, I click trust, CheckRa1n freezes again.

It always just freezes and I don’t know how to fix it.

Technically wrong, you might be able to but the downgrade will be tethered, meaning you will have to boot your iPhone from your computer. This was used to tethered downgrade iPhones and iPods with A4 chips to any iOS version supported.
