I need to switch to either Substrate or Substitute on Checkra1n, but the problem is that I previously used Odysseyra1n, which relies on libhooker. Although libhooker works fine, it's not compatible or supported for the main tweak I jailbroke my device for. Now, I'm wondering how I can completely remove Odysseyra1n from my device, because even after restoring system in the Checkra1n app, it seems that either part of libhooker or Odysseyra1n is still present (after re-jailbreaking). Consequently, when I re-jailbreak and install Cydia, Substrate is not pre-installed and I have to manually download Cydia Substrate and Substrate Safe Mode, but this causes my phone to get stuck in an infinite spinning wheel when I restart SpringBoard, and I eventually lose my jailbreak

Requirements

• A device which did not receive iOS 16 (iPhone 7 and earlier, iPod Touch 7th Generation, iPad Air 2, and iPad Mini 4)
• iOS 14.8.1 or earlier blobs
  (If you’ve been on a previous jailbreak with procursus you may have blobs for iOS 14, please check TSS Saver)
• A Mac / Linux Computer

Unlock your idevice and trust the pc if a popup appears, then disconnect and reconnect the idevice.

iOS not supported or device not supported, but the guide says otherwise
Make sure you are using the latest version of checkra1n, and enable allow untested version in the options. A11 users on ios 14+ will also need to enable skip a11 bpr.

Stuck on checking for device, or device won't go info dfu?
Make sure you're using a [usb-a to lightning cable](#bot-commands message) (as well as an adapter if needed). Use a pc with an intel cpu if possible, and don't use a VM.

Tips to increase successrate:

• Plug your device into your computer's motherboard.
• Use a genuine Apple USB-A to lighting cable.

If you’re stuck on the apple logo please force reboot yourself (see: /tag reboot).

If these don’t work, try to get your hands on another computer (preferably intel), and try to use checkra1n again.

Hi, I have a M1 Mac OS laptop and an iPad Air 2 WiFi on iOS 14.3.

I am trying to JB via checkra1n but when it gets to the booting screen, it just shows the Apple Logo once, then turns off, then shows it again and boots back to the home screen.

Im connecting the iPad via a USB Hub since it was recommended I dont use USB-C to Lightning cable. Getting a -20 error

By some weird miracle, Yes. I didn't want to restore my iPad just to get rid of the jailbreak files which I presume were still there since checkra1n is sort of a permanent solution. The only issue at the time was I didn't have a way to re-jailbreak it since one for iOS 16.3 wasn't stable or w/e yet. I managed to use palera1n, but half way through the jailbreak process I accidentally unplugged my iPad, and when I rebooted it everything was the same, but all the jailbreak stuff was gone so I was able to play Clash again. So I don't know how or why that worked, but I was thankful

I was supposed to have already been un-jailbroken, since I had updated from iOS 14 to 16, but I didn't know that some directories or files were still on it, and since clash is all I really use it for these days, it was annoying
