can someone please help me out? my iphone X is in a boot loop and whenever i plug it in to the computer (regardless of which mode it’s in recovery or dfu) it will not even read the device nor do the drivers display the apple drivers. so i’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, and tried both updated versions of itunes (apple and microsoft) and still nada. For shits and giggles i connected my old iphone 7+ and it picks it right up. fwiw my X will show the recovery mode screen and apple logo so i don’t believe it’s bricked. to my knowledge when you flash your device to 14.4.2 everything is wiped clean. but once you restore your phone from backup, it'll bring back some residual files. But these residual files usually won't trigger detection.

How to fix this error:
Unable to check for update. An error occurred while checking for a software update.
Method 1 (easiest): Install OTAEnabler.

Method 2: Open unc0ver, tap the gear icon, turn OFF "Disable OTA updates", tap Done, tap the Jailbreak button.

If you're still having issues make sure you didn't disable the OTA daemon in iCleaner and you don't have the tvOS/watchOS beta profile. If you are still having issues, you may need to DFU restore.
