If you disregarded the warnings in #announcements and would still like to update to iOS 14,
A) Restore rootfs and update in iTunes (best option)
B) Restore and update in iTunes ( will erase everything)
C) Manually download ipsw and enter dfu to restore (if facing any possible error this will fix it)
D) if on unc0ver untick the disable updates option and restore rootfs, even if you already restored rootfs
It’s is not recommended to use just the update option in iTunes especially if you haven’t removed your jailbreak.
It is not recommended to restore from an iCloud or iTunes backup if it was made while jailbroken

Is there an alternate way to clear recently deleted files in the files app? The normal delete all option does nothing.
File Provider Storage/.Trash looks obvious but only lists 5 out of 137 files
Most of the files in recently deleted can't be recovered so i'm assuming it's got a corrupted database somewhere as filza says the files it says are there don't exist in the file system
