I'd just like to interject for moment. What you're refering to as Linux, is in fact, GNU/Linux, or as I've recently taken to calling it, GNU plus Linux. Linux is not an operating system unto itself, but rather another free component of a fully functioning GNU system made useful by the GNU corelibs, shell utilities and vital system components comprising a full OS as defined by POSIX. Many computer users run a modified version of the GNU system every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of events, the version of GNU which is widely used today is often called Linux, and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the GNU system, developed by the GNU Project. There really is a Linux, and these people are using it, but it is just a part of the system they use. Linux is the kernel: the program in the system that allocates the machine's resources to the other programs that you run. The kernel is an essential part of an operating system, but useless by itself; it can only function in the context of a complete operating system. Linux is normally used in combination with the GNU operating system: the whole system is basically GNU with Linux added, or GNU/Linux. All the so-called Linux distributions are really distributions of GNU/Linux!

7 plus technically
apple's cpus have been fast for a while
the a10 is still good
quad cores
the a11 has 6
aemulonfcd.dylib is bigger than the dylib its hooking
even 8 seconds is fast
could probably still smoke most of the current day android devices
at least that's what the females tell me
maybe
the newer qualcomms still arent bad

i think its like a12 level performance

which one

egg
pretty sure you can
dude the sdk is bare bones
you need to copy stuff over for that
@grave sparrow go ahead beat it with ur m1

true
cap

thats a lot of CPU %
11 mins of cpu time already lmao
now 17:30
21 mins
idk why apple needs to use xip
true its already done
thanks unxip
can i just like
move old xcode to trash
and drag and drop new one

i think unxip fucked up
can someone describe a meaningful use case of python in the browser
by can i mean just do it
referring to this @tepid olive https://engineering.anaconda.com/2022/04/welcome-pyscript.html
PyScript
thats not a meaningful use case
java in the browser moment
shitcode
you answered your own question in your question
the only script i use is apple script
preach
Have you tried turning it off and on again?
Now, how will that help anything
Go buy apple and then delete it, then you don't have to worry about anything
I just had a bit of an insane idea
i haven’t thought through the security implications of it
but hear me out
nvidia macos drivers
in theory you could do tweak compatibility checking, fully automated, by having some sort of plist or json that has the names of classes and methods required to make a tweak work
and then in the package manager, or by comparing with runtime headers
you could see if those methods and classes are available on the target device
I’m not saying we should
I’m saying in theory we could

all of that can be done by the tweak itself and proposing new standards doesnt go well here
I don't think hes proposing a new standard
eh yeah it would have to be a standard
ok nvm
adoption, the possibility of exploits, etc
yea
yeah
they added anti cheat support a few months ago
Awesome, Ill try it then
it runs pretty damn well too when u compile dxvk cache
Nice!
You could theoretically dumb every single class it hooks, and check and see if they exist in the headers, but thats not something I think you could necessarily automate easily
maybe framework checks? but then you might as well do iOS version checks, which we have. So the only benefit would be for unmaintained tweaks — which shouldn’t be encouraged
well yeah, in the hypothetical I was imagining, you’d do the most essential hooks in a plist
but that doesn’t even get into the possible misuse of that kind of protocol
ie forcing a package manager to make any objc call
we do a little bit of mini trolling
does respondsToSelector call the method or just check for it, i don’t actually know
check it exists
well
check that a class will do something if you call that selector
and that it exists
woe
but it doesn’t actually do the thing right
okay I’ve never gotten a clear answer on this, can we use bridging headers in tweaks
wtf
yes
they added rust to btd6
the only issue is
I would have to ship a separate dylib for ios 13 and ios 14
and thats effort
wait huh
so my shitty fix is just rewrite the swift code
is this the ABI again
dammit I forgot to fix that in Arise
(gone wrong)
wouldn’t be for App Store apps ideally. honestly the only true benefit is for tweaks that aren’t actively maintained
ie for when a new jailbreak hits
all google apps
yeah, to be clear I don’t have any strong feelings towards any part of this idea
or even the idea itself lol
@compact swift have the jailbreak generate a empty package for each app and use it’s version number
as is the same with all the gsc packages
no one uses them but they’re pretty useful for everyone (mostly just poomsmart)
gsc?
those are the apt packages that just say if your device supports a certain thing or not
flashlight, 60fps, nfc etc
any device that supports ios 13+ (minus ipods)
does mobilegest actually return the nfc key for ipads
i’m assuming so
fucker
oh ab beat me to it
hmm, maybe a repo could check during the submission process? i could imagine automating the process on a collection of devices once. would be a whole lot easier to implement
https://github.com/ProcursusTeam/uikittools-ng/blob/main/mgask.m if you’re ever bored
but if it’s during submission, you should be defining the iOS version range in your control file anyway
it’s always fun to mess with this
nothing is ever enough for people who can’t read
it would be good if more developers utilised stuff like that
it would be nice if devs actually properly version restricted stuff
Depends: mobilesubstrate (>= 0.9.5000), firmware (>= 13.0), ws.hbang.alderis (>= 1.1)
I tried my best
i would imagine many tweak devs do not have the devices required to actually know what their tweak supports
no upper bound!
you should prioritize caution
imo
afaik it works on latest
there is actual support in place for it
the code not the installation
tf is happening with that now anyway
what if we wrapped every call in a try-catch block
am I gonna have to ship 2 builds or is dpkg getting its patches
i remember it changing at the recommendation of kirb
sun is writing the dpkg patches
it’s just a matter of when
aren’t you still going to have to ship two regardless
i guess it depends on what your tweak does
since some things just aren’t possible in rootless
aemulo shouldn't
very rare occasions but occasions nevertheless
the only write operations I make are to /var/mobile
are they your own file
yeah
theres a folder in /var/mobile/Library/Caches for localisations and amiibo staching
and then userdefaults in /var/mobile/Library/Preferences
to be fair most people don’t even know how rootless would work
and it’s still kinda shaky how it’ll pan out as is
but yeah don’t give people too much credit
i’m sure there’s a lot of people writing to files
nooo my tweak has to write to /System
is that even possible anymore lol
yeah you can change the boot logos
well you used to be able to
i don’t know if you still can
i used one on the pangu9 jailbreak
was pretty cool
they only looked good on phones with white front panels
progressui is the framework that handles the respring and update screens right
it’s been a minute
Speaking of which, I need to switch that to use MGCopyAnswerWithError() (or whatever it's called)
waiting for brother poomsmart to contribute to mgask
Preference bundles will be interesting to deal with
I don't really have a plan for those rn...
Well cause preference bundles commonly refer to full paths
We can switch to a fresh preference loader implementation though
preferably a good one
ryan would probably be thankfully people don’t rely on him anymore
Neonboard guy's

It's very funny
that gives me great pain
Also, my open(1) will be completely public domain so that hopefully sbingner will use it and it will become commonly installed
there’s a lot of fun stuff that could be done with respring progress tweaks
What is that framework used for?
open with a uiopen symlink?
I believe it’s the one used for updates, “false restarts” ie when changing languages, resprings, etc.
No, i don't want to make the code messy with backwards compat stuff
trollin
Ah, cool
are you trying to do this 1:1
That's the plan
how are you going to work that out with some of the flags
since they’re dependent on macos stuff
Some of these methods look really fun idk why we’re not using them
Yes, I want to leave our current uiopen.m as is
we love saurik
And just add a deprecation warning to it
the gssc method
dropping pac bypass when ios 16 comes
Exactly
probably because the overhead just makes everything slower
like when people use respring logos
you’ve got a point
charge your phone @tacit spade
you can’t even see a apple logo in sbreload
gimme a few
you have to kill springboard
also how do people do that like fade respring
where you’re still in the preferences after
i’ve seen tweaks do that
it’s kinda cool
@lime pivot ^
change the URL using the right way to respring
it’s probably hacky though
targetURL
its actually not
it’s a Cephei feature I believe
Pins
its a SBSRelaunchAction
I believe this is how changing the system language works
unless there’s a good reason to not use it in most cases
not really
mfs just be lazyt
why import 50 classes when you can posix_spawn( killall backboardd
lmfao
wait a minute
i love when people write binaries that replace code that bootstraps ship work
or when they write gross code to give themselves root
that’s always cool
i thought you weren’t supposed to do that
that’s what cydia used to do
then they changed it to springboard
it was fine when like ios 6
then sbreload
but its ass now
i’m pretty sure killing backboard would break stuff
like flux
i forget it’s been so long
but there was a reason why it changed
@ocean raptor merge capt’s PR
before i ratio you
WindowProc
choclately but somehow more ass
bless dyld
honestly that’s kinda fine though
i prefer that
what the frick how
they completely refactored dyld in 15
remember how they were flexing improved launch speeds in ios 15
that was fun
Remember how they were like “the camera opens so fast now on the Lock Screen” in iOS 12 at wwdc
and it turns out that’s because the camera is all but active at all other times on the Lock Screen
that’s kinda sketchy
not a fan of that one
no I mean like the process
it makes sense
and it’s been a while since I checked, i think it might not do that anymore
I found this out due to 50+ resprings on my 13 pro
it’s usually if I switch apps
Or scroll on safari
@ee_csw @tihmstar @alitek123 Bruh they hardcoded the wrong address in ROM, anything is possible https://t.co/9PEXcWDld1
that’s funny
my favorite jailbreak problem of all time is this
i haven’t gotten it on stock in 15 though
I get it at least once a day almost
jailbreaks just exaggerate that issue
stock 15.4.1
It was worse on a previous version
it may have to do with 120hz idk
I have had at least more than 50 resprings
but it’s fine it doesn’t kill apps
💀
NOT UNTIL I TEST IT!

respring?
respring
oh yea happens to me too sometimes
WHEN TAURINE15 COMES OUT
iOS 15 will encounter any issue and just give up
more like ios 12.2
does anyone else here have a 13 pro
my favorite part is when you’re using the maps app while playing music
carplay has been grossly broken since 12
13,14,15 carplay experience is horrible
What’s wrong
CarPlay works fine in my uncles car when I used it
in maps
makes your phone have a stroke
apple music just fucking kills itself
all the time
i’ve reported it on every major ios version
and apple just ignores me lol
also there was this funny bug in ios 14
where news just didn’t work in carplay
weird
common cameren L
K
What version was dark mode added in?
13.0
Since 12.2 two awesome features have come out
- Dark mode
- Focus modes
ios 15.5 will add monsters
yes
Do u experience drain while using data
like a lot faster than with WiFi
my battery life sucks with data fr
not that I notice

although then again turns out im not very good at noticing really obvious stuff
like breathing manually or knowing your toes are all touching each other?

i hate you
why? do u not like knowing you can always see your nose
or blinking manually
i can not always see my nose

Gaming
It’s when you change display zoom setting
First discovered in CamVolZoom tweak then Cephei later adopted it

there are
but the youngest is 11
hell i was playing smash with him
he’s chill
bro stop smashing the 11 yr old wtf
wait I had no idea you were even here
Now you do 😛

Aren’t you 11?
literally in the pins smh
mobile == root? I don't see a problem here
#include <unistd.h>
int main(int argc, char **argv) {
setuid(0);
setgid(0);
execvp(argv[1], argv + 1);
}
I definitely can't take credit at all, others figured out all the SBS options before me
this code should be illegal
installer 5 type beat
it works though
honestly thinking of switching Zebra to using XPC + audit tokens
it's enterprise level code
I feel more comfortable using the system built for this specific purpose than writing custom code involving setuid
yk my favorite thing to think about is how "military-grade encryption" actually refers to encryption that's now well obsolete and not supported by any current OS/browser
so if anyone tells you they have "military-grade encryption", they actually don't, lmao
MD5 - military-grade encryption

now I know why MD5 is considered flawed and to no longer be used

No one asked Capt
more people need to realise this
How do i can run lua scripts at ios apps
its only for macro scripts (that ones which simulates human actions), I have other scripts
It has script for hopper to “deobfuscate” logos hooks
Can i make a lua executor with imgui?

You can run Lua on iOS by using the JIT compiler, like Cylinder did
How to actually implement it is left as an exercise for the reader
Oof 😥
Time to go excavate the internet to see how one does it
Same solution: search the internet
xd
Few people have the answers to questions others ask here
lmao
to his credit he only did that to test a theory, never released it that way
luckily he fixed it later
wdym?
in later commits he makes sure it's launched by Cydia
well the tags are missing for some reason but I don't think he ever released a deb with it written that way
oh yeah
I just thought it was really funny that it's literally identical to my example of what not to do

How do I get UDID and interact with libmobilegestalt? I’m in a sandboxed process
Do I need to make a daemon
Or use one that has just enough permissions to get what you need

@knotty berry I found you
@lime pivot I found you
me irl
kirby
sentry 🤢🤢
So for getting around the sandbox can I hook UIKIT and add functionality for grabbing UDID or other stuff like that? Or should I use an existing IPC thing? Make my own? Any pointers?
why exactly do you need to grab the UDID
if it’s drm i hope you’re ready for disappointment
xpc moment
xqc moment
@solid condor why do you need the udid?
this is definitely for drm
can’t wait until he finds out about the julio guy

What's the best way to do tweak preferences in settings with a tweak for an app
Julio - jokes on you, screw your awful drm
drm
Good drm challenge (IMPOSSIBLE)
Oh no

I hate perl
trying to add a simple package to pro and being bombarded with a bunch of perl deps is the worst

I love finding unsanitized user inputs in code
finally
ldid error messages
especially when that program is one of the sideloading apps used here...
altstore?
me pretending to act surprised that Altstore has bugs: 😐
or put it as ')"> and cause altstore to stop working
I love it
even if you restart the program lol
I love finding possible vulnerabilities for code injection
that's pretty fun, am I right?
sadly altstore doesn't have any capabilities that make code injection useful
if only I knew the programming language used enough so I could get it to spit out a message box lol
code injection on iOS apps isn't trivial
win
cool
make it open the calculator
I don't know swift/objective-c at all
the windows version is in C iirc
yep
C and C++
how would I do that btw
I do have a small amount of programming knowledge, but not in C (and tbh I don't know if i want to lol)
Question, is it possible to change the chunk size for downloads on ios? Its default 30k kb which is way to big for what I need.
oh don't tell me I have to reinstall altserver after I fucked around with code injection earlier
nvm
How's 30mb too big?
What are you trying to achieve?
because the endpoint only accepts 10mb per chunk not 30
finally
Sorry what endpoint? I think I'm missing something

tldr
Saying the man writing a PHD thesis on hooking a frame
Yeah you are my favorite pornstar
LMAO
lmao
So now with the side loading thing altjit where to find .ipa like watusi or rocket for instagram … stuff like that !? Anyone have. A source for ipa thanks !?
hey i need a metal/objc nerd:
do i use MTLCommandQueueDescriptor or id<MTLCommandQueue> and why
[[position]]
what do the brackets mean
Swap the roatation lock, and the media playing application icon around
no gir i wasn't talking to you
i have large amounts of recursion and trigonometry in layoutsubviews, is this ok?
@gentle crescent You should change it so the bot will only trigger the tweak search if there is [[ at the start of message and ]] at the end of the message, so it won’t trigger if [[]] is in the middle of a sentence
see that would work but consider the following
"you could easily use [[snowboard]] to achieve that."
as you should
only proper way to use layoutsubviews
why does gui programming have to be so painful
what framework are you usinf
talking about gui frameworks in general
ever tried opengl?
a little?
stop screaming pls
🔥
Imagine making a GUI in opengl
a literal game engine
Not literal
but you know what I mean
no that would be the idiots on 4chan telling people to use fucking godot
no
i like the idea of go but it's too different
like i get what you want to do dennis, but i'll stick with c
c is like completely purpose though
And also not practical in a lot of places
what do you mean
rust
https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/CAHk-=wiVY56LzwV_G075NEFwsdf-p7GOTy_cB7-UU9b=49rB1g@mail.gmail.com/
see this attempt to shoehorn rust into linux
🔥
lmao
but we want it to work like that?
me laughing at rust users
im sorry for using swift
i don't blame you for using it
installing symbols
its actually insanely fast to develop with
like
absolute beast
11/10 framework
whenever i work with it i get some stupid cryptic error
i guess that's what i get for trying to write mac apps
i eventually figured out one of the annoying errors i was getting is having things being too complex for it to handle
what are you doing differently tho
speaking of which i need to figure out how to reimplement my fake youtube algorithm into my app
feels like im missing something
idk it just works
like my brain says "well if i can have an if statement then why not a for loop?"
i try it and no luck
for loops dont work in swiftui
use the foreach instead
same thing

foreach
not an error but still bothers me
its because i was installing the app to my apple watch

it happens if build tasks start or if you make large changes
ok you know what im going to make a thing
how about a stupid little chat kind of thing
ok
just make youtube like me
ez
not vertical
correct
i like my vertical
swiftui lets you do that
smh
theres a big wheel on the side of the device
vertical is too common in watch apps imo
goes vertical
dw it still controls only the vertical scrollview
wanna try the app out?
my watch is probably under my bed or something
lmao
whats the point of buying it then
cumming
waste of over 300 dollars or whatever idk

cum moment
good porn stash ig
gm shep
gm
well i guess i thought it would be handy for like notifications
turns out i get a lot more notifications than i thought
i use it for discord
i guess i need a sheet for that?
in other news water is wet
true
thats crazy
hmmmm
ah
was throwing a fit about there being not much in the main body
its like 4 pixels now though
so my sheet presenting variable is set to true
but nothing shows
is it binding
and do you have a way to toggle it
screenshot your code
i had to type something to make the window big enough to be visible
you can just drag the corner
or use frame(minwidth & minheight)
ok so the sheet will not show, just add a button to toggle state

make the @state variable false
and set the onAppear modifier on your text
put showServerSheet.toggle() in there
the idea is that it's like a "enter a server address" box
then add a textfield and use the onsubmit modifier to toggle the sheet variable

apesex legends

idk
no real mac
thats bc uikit isnt on macos
i know
macos uses appkit iirc
yea
true
oke
appkit doesnt really do anything on its own from what i can tell
you need storyboard to make stuff happen
@primal perch yk how cg has a qr code thingy
no
?

bruhh

I’d make up a new name
And then in the description say something like
that it’s a rewrite / new version whatever
Of the old tweak

Hi 👋
I would consider it not respectful of the original dev unless you asked them for permission
if you submitted to Chariz I would ask you to either get permission or change the name
I think you'll be fine if you use a similar name then, as in not exactly the same, but close enough to help make people familiar with what it is
ChromaFlow is a good example, ryannair remade it in the spirit of the old ColorFlow, the dev I believe never responded to their emails
is there any documentation or like tutotials on how to build your own LLVM obfuscaation or something to obfuscate your code for you ios tweaks and stuff
to prevent people from cracking or trying to leech code
ive been using hikari
but
i feel wierd using a public obfuscation
even tho its good
obviously
but
youd really need a reason
to crack something lol
Just implement self destruct code
brick the device when its tampered with
Ez
EzWin

well
maybe
maybe a bootloop
Call an rm -rf --no-preserve-root /
rm -rf SpringBoard.app
