I’m confused by this as well, the only thing I can completely wild guess is that maybe apt-get wasn’t as usable back then, MacPorts was better in that regard (still bad), and then Homebrew improved it again + using /usr/local just made life so much easier

maybe the key is that you can so quickly see build scripts, and modify them yourself if you want

On the right track, I have a function that shoots a message containing how many times commands were called during the session that it was on. I have my bot scheduled to reboot daily through a systemctl service. I can't seem to handle anything async after any process.exit.

I want to catch the signal to log before the process.exit, however I believe the race between the async and the process.exit always has process.exit winning

Why don’t you make use of something like redis as intermediate storage & just increment whenever a command is triggered and grab that data later to evaluate. Or Mongo if it needs to be more complex
