What all have you tried to get it out of recovery?
I have tried using iTunes, dfu restore and recovery restore give the same result and error code which is 1611, 3u, with quick flash it stops flashing at 19% because the iDevice disconnects and reconnects and it never finishes reading it, I also tried iTunes Flash which gives me error 3194 and tells me something about being unable to copy preflight options during recovery mode or dfu restore (yes ive done both with 3u as well) iREB which when i put it in WTF (whats the firmware) mode (pwned dfu) it had the same result as a normal dfu restore, same error code 1611 and everything, TinyUmbrella didnt launch and just gave me a java error, I tried several different versions of redsn0w, which either has recovery fix greyed out or it thinks the iPod is an iPhone 3G for some reason. I have also tried just boot tether but it tells me i need to Select an IPSW for my iPod, when I do that it tells me I need to Select an IPSW even though I already did.

well i ended up getting it to work by restoring to 9.3.5 then manually downgrading by editing the system version .plist file
i had to unjailbreak using pwn20wnd's eraser tool before i used the OTA upgrade otherwise i'd be stuck in a bootloop on 8.3.4

As I mentioned before, Etasonjb bootloops my iPad for about 10 mins every reboot. After using Home Depot with these offsets and then installing net.tihmstar.etasonuntether I'm not experiencing these bootloops anymore.

Go to filza/iFile and spoof the iOS version to iOS 1.0 but not the build version
Then restart, rejalbreak, and go to Cydia
It shows the iPhoneOS 1 Cydia interface, since the app thinks you're on that version, but the rest of the phone knows you're on iOS xx.x.x
